  1. 'Job done for Sussex'published at 12:05 British Summer Time 25 May

    Hants 154 & 165 v Sussex 297

    Adrian Harms
    BBC Sussex

I'm sure Sussex will feel that's very much job done.

They've picked up those four wickets in the first hour.

It would take something quite remarkable now for Sussex not to win this game.

HANTS 165 ALL OUTpublished at 12:02 British Summer Time 25 May

    Turner c Carter b Crocombe 4 (Hants 154 & 165 v Sussex 297)

That is that and, after a 10 minute interval, Sussex will be out to polish this game off before lunch.

The lead is 22 runs and the win is a formality after John Turner defends off his hips and turns the ball from Henry Crocombe straight to Oli Carter at short leg.

John Simpson, the Sussex skipper, said his side would be "ruthless" this morning and they have whittled out the last four wickets for 51 runs.

Jack Carson finishes with 5-26 on a pitch increasingly helpful to spinners but Crocombe's pace and bounce unsettled Hampshire throughout as well.

He finished with 2-44 but had a bigger impact on the game that those figures suggest.

  3. Postpublished at 69.3 overs

    Surrey 279 v Essex 217 & 226-3

Jamie Overton is again wearing sky blue socks, presumably not the same ones he had on yesterday.

He whistles one past the outside edge of Charlie Allison's bat as his speed climbs beyond 85mph.

  4. 50 runs

50 partnershippublished at 12:01 British Summer Time 25 May

    Somerset 123-2 (trail by 142)

Fifty partnership comes up for Somerset's Tom Lammonby and James Rew who have just calmed the Durham storm which appeared to be coming their way following Lewis Gregory's dismissal.

142 runs still needed to win this one.

  5. wicket

WICKETpublished at 12:00 British Summer Time 25 May

    Abbott c Haines b Carson 1 (Hants 155-9)

One away now as Kyle Abbott edges Jack Carson to the waiting hands of Tom Haines at slip.

  6. Latest from Derbypublished at 11:59 British Summer Time 25 May

    Derbyshire 587-5 dec v Kent 235-4

Two short legs and a short mid-wicket in place for nightwatch Matt Parkinson at the County Ground.

Zak Chappell bangs in a short one and he can only fend it off into the hands of Caleb Jewell, one of those close in under the helmet.

Parkinson made only seven, but added 41 with Ben Compton, who is still there on 127 not out.

  7. wicket

WICKETpublished at 11:58 British Summer Time 25 May

Yates lbw Allison 29 (Warwicks 79-3, lead by 125)

Rob Yates is trapped plumb lbw by Ben Allison, who has bowled consistently and economically this morning for Worcestershire, and it's an easy decision for the umpire.

Yates has lasted 112 balls in a commendable innings but he has to walk now.

  8. 50 runs

for Sam Robsonpublished at 11:55 British Summer Time 25 May

    Glamorgan 383 v Middlesex 155 & 76-0

Sam Robson tucks Zain ul-Hassan off his hip and into the gap at mid-wicket and they run three - which is exactly what he needs to reach 50 from just 40 balls faced.

There have been 10 boundaries in his innings so far.

  9. Postpublished at 67.1 overs

    Surrey 279 v Essex 217 & 225-3

Tom Westley dangles a limp bat at a ball from Jamie Overton and is lucky to see it fly just wide of the diving second slip. The Essex skipper moves on to 19 not out.

  10. 'Solid start for Sussex'published at 11:52 British Summer Time 25 May

    Hants 154 & 161-9 v Sussex 297

    Kevan James
    BBC Radio Solent commentator

It's been a solid start for Sussex.

I think from here on in from a Hampshire point of view it's just about slow increments.

You've got to try and irritate Sussex here a little bit and get your score up inch by inch.

  11. wicket

WICKETpublished at 11:50 British Summer Time 25 May

Clarke lbw b Thompson 94 (Notts 268-4, lead by 337 runs)

Joe Clarke falls one big hit short of a hundred as Jordan Thompson gets one to nip back into his pads.

  12. Postpublished at 65.2 overs

    Surrey 279 v Essex 217 & 216-3

Much better from Charlie Allison as he cover drives Nathan Smith for four and holds the post, just for a second or two. Essex lead by 154.

  13. 100 runs

100 up for Somersetpublished at 11:45 British Summer Time 25 May

    Durham v Somerset 101-2 (trail by 164)

An elegant pull shot from James Rew brings up Somerset's 100 off just over 33 overs.

The visitors have held things together well since losing captain Lewis Gregory in the second over of the day.

  14. Division Two updatepublished at 11:44 British Summer Time 25 May

Logan van Beek dismisses Luke WellsImage source, Rex Features

Logan van Beek didn't see the catch taken which removed Luke Wells

Lancashire have lost two wickets in three balls at Grace Road - Luke Wells caught at third man, uppercutting a rising ball from Logan van Beek, who then has Josh Bohannon taken at second slip.

The Red Rose are 25-2 in their second innings, still 226 behind.

Derbyshire are still waiting for their first success of day three, with Kent now 233-3 after 59 overs - Ben Compton has moved on to 125 not out.

A similar story at Northampton where Gloucestershire are 197-4 after 58, with Matt Taylor 25 not out and Cameron Green on 10.

  15. wicket

WICKETpublished at 11:43 British Summer Time 25 May

    Dawson c Simpson b Carson 48 (Hants 153-9, lead by 10 runs)

Good work behind the stumps from John Simpson who takes a catch down the leg side.

But not a great shot execution from Liam Dawson who will be disappointed with that, chasing a turning ball half-heartedly and getting a feather on it.

The lead is 10 but the game looks almost up for Hampshire who, once again, will be having an inquest into the moments in this contest that have allowed it to slip away.

That was one of them perhaps.

  16. 50 up for Middlesexpublished at 11:40 British Summer Time 25 May

    Glamorgan 383 v Middlesex 155 & 51-0

Glamorgan take James Harris out of the attack after his first four overs cost 35 runs.

Andy Gorvin is his replacement and Max Holden glances for four to bring up a 50 partnership with Sam Robson from 57 balls.

Holden is 20 not out and Robson has 31.

  17. Postpublished at 63 overs

    Surrey 279 v Essex 217 & 211-3

Charlie Allison avoid a pair at The Oval - but only just.

He attempts to cut a ball by Dan Worrall, but it's too close to him and one hand comes off the bat as an under-edge just misses off stump before running away to fine leg for four.

  18. Postpublished at 11:36 British Summer Time 25 May

Durham v Somerset 91-2 (trail by 174 runs)

More good bowling from Durham's breakout star Mitchell Killeen.

Tom Lammonby chases at one and badly plays and misses but, fortunately for him, his bat hits the ground instead of ball otherwise he would be joining Lewis Gregory back in the pavilion.

174 runs still required - 265 the magic number required for the visitors.

  19. Postpublished at 11:32 British Summer Time 25 May

    Worcs 181 v Warwicks 227 & 65-2 (lead by 111)

Big appeal for caught behind as Sam Hain wafts at a good delivery from Tom Taylor but the umpire is unmoved.

Worcestershire's Rob Jones at second slip then shows his frustration at not out been given - he might be getting a letter in the post about that incident after the match.

  20. 'Elgar will be gutted'published at 11:29 British Summer Time 25 May

    Surrey 279 v Essex 217 & 205-3

    Mark Church
    BBC Radio London commentator

    Dean ElgarImage source, Rex Features

Elgar will be gutted with that one, that's most unlike him.

He was trying to keep it down but he mistimed it and it just carried enough to get down towards third man.

    The game is alive now.
