  1. wicket

WICKETpublished at 14:35 British Summer Time 25 May

    Malik c Brookes b Duffy 15 (Worcs v Warwicks 181-6, lead by 227)

Zen Malik looks to drive down the ground but is reaching for it and it goes uppish.

The ball flies to Ethan Brooke at point who takes a terrific, low diving catch and Malik has to go.

Warwickshire would have hoped Malik had got a couple dozen or so more on the board but still boast a healthy lead of 227 runs.

  2. Postpublished at 96.4 overs

    Surrey 279 v Essex 217 & 313-5

Tom Lawes sends down a full toss - he's not going to get away with that and Charlie Allison clips it past mid-on for four to take Essex's lead past 250.

A much better ball next up and Allison is beaten as he attempts an airy drive.

  3. 300 runs

300 up for Gloucspublished at 14:29 British Summer Time 25 May

    Northants 469 v Gloucs 301-7

Graeme van Burren pulls off his pads for a couple of runs down to fine leg before, two balls later, he is trapped lbw by Harry Conway for 27.

The visitors trail by 168 runs in their first innings still.

  4. 'Durham making things difficult for Somerset'published at 14:27 British Summer Time 25 May

    Durham 277 & 159 v Somerset 172 & 217-3

    Martin Emmerson
    BBC Radio Newcastle

If Durham win from here it will be an incredible turnaround.

They've kept things fairly tight, they've made things difficult for Somerset.

The wickets certainly haven't been behaving the way they have done in the previous two days.

  5. Postpublished at 14:25 British Summer Time 25 May

    Durham v Somerset 215-3 (target 265)

    Tom LammonbyImage source, Rex Features

Somerset's Tom Lammonby pulls off back-to-back boundaries on the off side to move on to 84 not out as the visitors' balcony begins to get a little bit roudier.

Exactly 50 runs requires for them with seven wickets still in hand.

  6. Postpublished at 14:24 British Summer Time 25 May

    Derbyshire 587-5 dec v Kent 300-8

Kent secure a second batting point as Grant Stewart pushes a single off Anuj Dal. The deficit, though, is 287.

Yorkshire all-rounder Jordan ThompsonImage source, Rex Features
    Image caption,

Jordan Thompson (left) is off the field with a back problem

That is a blow for Yorkshire and for Jordan Thompson walks from the middle after looking to have pulled a muscle in his back.

George Hill is taking over midway through his over but with the T20 starting at the end of the week Thompson would have been a valuable asset.

He may be okay and his absence precautionary but fast bowlers and back muscle trouble is not a great combination.

  8. 50 runs

for Charlie Allisonpublished at 93.5 overs

    Surrey 279 v Essex 217 & 305-5

    Charlie AllisonImage source, Rex Features

Charlie Allison punches a ball from Jordan Clark into the covers for a single and reaches a maiden first-class 50 from 97 balls.

It's been an excellent innings for his team - there has been the odd injudicious stroke, but by and large he has keep his composure well.

Interestingly - or maybe not - he has the same initials CWJA as former England batsman Bill Athey.

  9. 300 up for Essexpublished at 14:16 British Summer Time 25 May

    Surrey 279 v Essex 217 & 301-5

An easy single for Michael Pepper off Jordan Clark and the Essex total passes 300. They are 239 ahead and would like to add at least another 100 to that.

  10. Division Two updatepublished at 14:14 British Summer Time 25 May

The floodgates have opened at Derby following the dismissal of Ben Compton for 156 - Harry Finch and Chris Benjamin have followed and Kent are 296-6, 291 behind.

Cameron Green has progressed to 61 not out for Gloucestershire, who are 291-6 in the 88th over, replying to 469 by Northants.

  11. dropped catch

Hutton dropped on 10published at 14:13 British Summer Time 25 May

    Yorks 159 v Notts 228 & 350-8

Jordan Thompson has a double teapot on here after George Hill spills Brett Hutton on 10 low to his left at slip.

Hill is usually a safe pair of hands and he lies flat afterwards refusing to make eye contact with a fizzing Thompson.

He ventures an apology at the end of the over which is received by Thompson, not conspicuously well, but received nonetheless.

  12. wicket

    WICKETpublished at 36.4 overs

    Geddes c ul-Hassan b Kuhnemann 12 (Glamorgan 383 v Middx 155 & 132-5)

Glamorgan move closer to an innings win as Ben Geddes lofts Matthew Kuhnemann down the ground and Zain ul-Hassan runs round to take the catch. The Aussie now has 4-23.

  13. 200 runs

200 up for Somersetpublished at 14:10 British Summer Time 25 May

    Durham v Somerset 200-3 (target 265)

Colin Ackermann tosses one up and Tom Lammonby flashes at one which flies past third slip and runs down to the boundary for four to bring up Somerset's 200.

Just 65 runs now needed for the visitors.

  14. wicket

    WICKETpublished at 90.5 overs

    Critchley lbw Worrall 4 (Surrey 279 v Essex 217 & 294-5)

Matt Critchley moves across his stumps and tries to play Dan Worrall into the leg-side. He doesn't make contact with the bat and the Australian paceman has his second victim of the innings.

Michael Pepper comes out to bat with his side 232 ahead, but half their wickets gone.

  15. Postpublished at 14:06 British Summer Time 25 May

    Yorks 159 v Notts 228 & 341-8

A diving stop at backward point from Finlay Bean is a hugely positive sign for this Yorkshire side and will no doubt delight coach Anthony McGrath.

This game is slipping away from the hosts here at Headingley with Notts stretching their lead to 409 but Bean's dive has saved them from being 411 ahead.

Keeping the fight going is mental as much as physical but small moments like that bodes well for Yorkshire's longer term ambitions this season.

  16. 50 runs

50 for Cam Greenpublished at 14:06 British Summer Time 25 May

    Northants 469 v Gloucs 281-6

A punch down the ground for four from Gloucestershire's Cam Green sees him go to a well-earned 50 off 103 balls.

  17. dropped catch

Dropped catchpublished at 14:04 British Summer Time 25 May

    Durham v Somerset 193-3 (target 265)

Oh, was that the chance that Durham needed to take?

Tom Lammonby pulls away in the leg side to James Minto to deep mid-wicket who had a simple take to make, without having to move, but drops the opportunity.

What a huge wicket that could have been - big opportunity wasted by the hosts.

Minto looks like he wishes the Riverside ground could swallow him up right now.

  18. 'The batters will be disappointed'published at 14:03 British Summer Time 25 May

    Surrey 279 v Essex 217 & 292-4

    Roland Butcher
Former England batter on BBC Sounds

I think the batters will be disappointed with the mode of dismissal.

They did the hard work and both the balls weren't great deliveries.

  19. 50 runs

50 for Sam Hainpublished at 14:00 British Summer Time 25 May

    Worcs v Warwicks 173-5 (lead by 219)

Sam Hain clips an easy single into the leg side to bring up his 50, which includes seven fours, for Warwickshire in what has been a fine individual display.

  20. wicket

    WICKETpublished at 86 overs

    Compton c Brown b Dal 156 (derbys 587-5 dec v Kent 289-6)

    Ben ComptonImage source, Rex Features

Ben Compton's magnificent innings comes to a low-key end - and he can't believe what he has done.

The left-hander takes two steps down the pitch and then steers Anuj Dal's medium pace straight to Pat Brown at cover.

He didn't put any oomph behind the ball to make it harder for the fielder and departs after batting for 349 minutes, facing 287 balls and hitting 14 fours.

Kent now in serious danger of having to follow on.
