The wicket of Wolvaardt means England can still aim to bowl out South Africa for under 200.

Once South Africa lose a few wickets, they may crumble as they did in the previous ODI. However they have held back Nadine de Klerk, one of the most dynamic batters to lengthen their middle order which I like. And they also Chloe Tryon to come.

    Wolvaardt lbw b Ecclestone 61 (SA 107-3)

Umpire's call - Sophie Ecclestone has the big wicket for England!

It is another ball that just skids on from Ecclestone with Laura Wolvaardt caught on the crease as she hangs back.

It thuds into the pad about shin height and ball-tracking shows it would just have clipped leg.

That's enough for England and it's a massive moment in this match.

    No bat involved.

  4. South Africa reviewpublished at 22.5 overs

Big moment as Sophie Ecclestone traps Laura Wolvaardt on the crease.

Given lbw but quickly reviewed. Maybe sliding down leg? This will be close...

  5. SA 106-2published at 22 overs

Another over, another flowing drive from Laura Wolvaardt.

This one beats the dive of Nat Sciver-Brunt at extra cover and races away for four.

There is a delay before the over is eventually completed as 'over' was called when Alice Capsey still had one left to bowl.

Confusion caused by the fact she bowled that one ball to complete the Kate Cross over earlier, I think.

A soft dismissal. The pressure was built from Ecclestone in the previous over and Capsey just tempted Anneke Bosch by taking the pace off. It's a great comeback from her very expensive over where she went for 11 runs.

  7. wicket

    WICKETpublished at 21.1 overs

    Bosch c Sciver-Brunt b Capsey 19 (SA 97-2)

Soft dismissal but England won't care!

Alice Capsey is given another over and starts it with a wicket.

A full, flighted delivery and Anneke Bosch goes after it... but chips tamely to Nat Sciver-Brunt at cover.

  8. SA 97-1published at 21 overs

Sophie Ecclestone tosses one up to Anekke Bosch and the South Africa batter's eyes light up.

She shapes to go big but Ecclestone gets it right in the blockhole and Bosch ends up just having to jam the bat down on it.

Another good over, just two from it.

  9. SA 95-1published at 20 overs

Alice Capsey ends her first full over of the match with a dot ball but the previous five cost 11.

After Laura Wolvaardt's elegant drive, Anneke Bosch added her third boundary over the top.

The partnership is now worth 45.

Laura Wolvaardt now averages 83 with the bat in ODIs at Potchefstroom across 13 knocks.

The only batter to have batted 10+ times in ODI cricket at a particular ground, and average close to Wolvaardt is Charlotte Edwards.

Edwards has batted 13 times at Bert Sutcliffe Oval and also averages 83.

  11. 50 runs

50 for Laura Wolvaardtpublished at 19.1 overs

    SA 88-1

Laura Wolvaardt goes to fifty - and I barely need to tell you that she gets there with another beautiful cover drive for four.

If the ball is there for that shot, you can guarantee she will play and nail it, usually to the boundary.

An excellent 60-ball half-century for the South Africa captain and England will be keen to see the back of her ASAP!

Sophie Ecclestone is getting better and better; she is so consistent in hammering the off-stump. Teams no longer take risks against but just aim to prevent her getting wickets.

It looks likely that England will be facing a tough run chase and that will be good for them ahead of the Ashes. There is that bigger picture beyond this series and this is great practice for playing multi-format.

  14. SA 84-1published at 19 overs

    Wolvaardt 47, Bosch 13

Tidy as ever from Sophie Ecclestone.

The England left-arm spinner concedes just a single from her fourth over and while there is very little by way of turn, she has been accurate enough to keep the batters honest.

  15. SA 83-1published at 18 overs

It has been a curious innings from Anneke Bosch so far.

As Alex says, she has struggled and yet she has also played two very confident shots back over the bowler's head for four.

The first off Sophie Ecclestone and now Charlie Dean gets the same treatment.

Anneke Bosch is struggling out there in the middle, whereas Wolvaadrt is looking so strong and likely to reach her half-century. England will be desperate to stop her getting a big score today.

  17. SA 76-1published at 17 overs

Just three from Sophie Ecclestone's latest and the last ball very nearly gets through Laura Wolvaardt.

It's quicker and skids but the South Africa skipper just gets her bat down in time as she plays on the back foot.

This does look a very good pitch for batting, though.

  18. Brook takes Root's crownpublished at 13:14 Greenwich Mean Time 11 December

Some news from the men's game, where Harry Brook has moved above England team-mate Joe Root to become the number one Test batter in the world rankings.

The 25-year-old has overtaken Root after scoring 171 in the first Test of England's current tour of New Zealand and following it up with scores of 123 and 55 in the second Test in Wellington to give him a ranking score of 898.

Root, who replaced New Zealand's Kane Williamson at the top of the International Cricket Council rankings in July, is just one point behind Brook on 897 and could take back his crown when the third Test starts in Hamilton on 14 December.

    More on that story here.

  19. SA 73-1published at 16 overs

Better over from Charlie Dean, although she does get away with one to finish it.

Angled down leg and short but Laura Wolvaardt can only get an under-edge that trickles past Amy Jones for a single.

  20. SA 70-1published at 15 overs

Anneke Bosch has started slowly but looks to be feeling more settled now as she pumps the ball back over Sophie Ecclestone's head for four.

Lovely shot as six come from the over.
