  1. SA 149-4published at 31 overs

Marizanne Kapp looks to regain some initiative with a lofted pull into the on-side. She doesn't quite middle it but the ball lands safely and they run two.

Nat Sciver-Brunt continues to vary her length, with Annerie Dercksen somehow fending a short delivery to deep square leg for a single.

I'm not sure Dercksen had much idea where the ball was going.

Annerie Dercksen has looked impressive for South Africa. It's always good to find an all-rounder you can depend on and develop.

South Africa do need to look past Marizanne Kapp and think what the future will look like when she does decide to call it a day.

  3. SA 143-4published at 30 overs

Just the single from Charlie Dean's latest over. England are starting to apply some scoreboard pressure.

A lot rests on Marizanne Kapp's shoulders to guide South Africa through the rest of this innings.

  4. Not outpublished at 28.5 overs

Annerie Dercksen did make it home, but should would have been out without that dive.

It was yet another risky single from South Africa.

  5. Umpire reviewpublished at 28.5 overs

Another risky single, another run out?

Annerie Dercksen goes for the full length dive to try and reach her crease before Amy Jones whips off the bails.

I think she made it home but the umpires ask for another look.

England will really look to put the pressure on now; we always knew that the wicket of Wolvaardt would be a turning point.

There's still plenty of time left in this game and it's an excellent batting surface so this partnership will be crucial.

  7. How's stat?!published at 14:03 Greenwich Mean Time 11 December

    Rufus Bullough
    CricViz analyst

England's spinners are finding just 1.7° of spin so far in their innings, which is in the lowest 10% of matches away from home for them in terms of average turn. To combat this, they are having to be incredibly accurate to remain effective. In this game 39% of deliveries bowled by the spinners would have hit the stumps - this is the third highest percentage of any match away from home for the England spinners.

  8. SA 136-4published at 28 overs

Annerie Dercksen is the new batter and takes a single off her first ball from Charlie Dean.

England have carved out an opening here - can they exploit it?

Nadine de Klerk looked really slow to get going. Marizanne Kapp didn't judge that well at all and De Klerk suffered for it.

She has looked very versatile in the past few innings and is such an adaptable player so she will be disappointed.

  10. wicket

    WICKETpublished at 27.5 overs

De Klerk run out (Bouchier) 14 (SA 135-4)

It wasn't just close, it was out by a mile. Fantastic fielding by Maia Bouchier and even better glovework by Amy Jones.

Marizanne Kapp will probably regret going for a single that probably wasn't there.

  11. Umpire reviewpublished at 27.5 overs

Is Nadine de Klerk in trouble here?

South Africa attempt a quick single with a push into the off side. Maia Bouchier throws in and Amy Jones shows tremendous athleticism to claim in front of the stumps, leap into the air and whip off the bails behind her.

De Klerk's body language suggests this is close.

  12. SA 130-3published at 27 overs

Time for a bit of seam as Nat Sciver-Brunt returns for her sixth over.

She just drags one down a touch and is Marizanne Kapp is on it in a flash, heaving the ball over mid-wicket for four.

That was the only real loose delivery of the over and it was punished.

  13. SA 122-3published at 26 overs

Nadine de Klerk makes the most of that reprieve with a booming shot over mid-wicket for four.

That absolutely flew to the rope.

  14. Not outpublished at 25.2 overs

Nadine de Klerk had just got her foot down in time.

    As you were.

  15. Umpire reviewpublished at 25.2 overs

Amy Jones is absolutely convinced she has stumped Nadine de Klerk here.

Alice Capsey lured her forward, beat the edge and Jones was rapid behind the stumps to whip off the bails.

    The decision goes upstairs.

    Thanks, Sam.

My prepped opening entry was all in praise of Laura Wolvaardt, who was putting on a bit of a clinic. But as soon as I got it ready Sophie Ecclestone took her wicket. It was still a sublime innings though.

But how big a moment could that be? It was the third wicket that triggered a collapse on Sunday.

  17. SA 117-3published at 25 overs

Marizanne Kapp has come out ready to play her shots.

It doesn't matter that it's Sophie Ecclestone, she's going on the attack and hits back over the England spinner's head.

    One bounce for four.

The innings is beautifully poised at the halfway stage so what better time to bring in Tom Mallows?

  18. SA 113-3published at 24 overs

Laura Wolvaardt has departed but the cracking cover drives keep coming.

It's Marizanne Kapp with the latest, crashing Alice Capsey away to the fence.

  19. Cross won't return in this inningspublished at 13:43 Greenwich Mean Time 11 December

After the good news of the wicket, the less good - but probably expected - news is that Kate Cross will not return to the field in this innings.

She suffered a back spasm during the first over of the innings.

  20. SA 107-3published at 23 overs

Sophie Ecclestone does it again for England.

Just one from the over and the huge wicket of Laura Wolvaardt, who had looked so good out there for South Africa today.

It's now over to Nadine de Klerk and Marizanne Kapp to try and ensure the innings doesn't fall away now.
