Marizanne Kapp is furious with herself, she knows it's a soft dismissal.

  2. wicket

    WICKETpublished at 38.4 overs

    Kapp c Ecclestone b Capsey 38 (SA 198-6)

    Big wicket!

Marizanne Kapp cannot believe it. She is absolutely fuming with herself.

She was looking for the gap over mid-wicket that has proved so fruitful this innings, but the shot is too straight and Sophie Ecclestone runs across from long-on to take the catch.

  3. SA 191-5published at 38 overs

It looks punishingly hot in Potchefstroom, but for one chap at the top of one of the grass banks it is time to fire up the barbeque.

The charcoal is being piled up, we await to see what is about to be chucked on it.

Meanwhile, a few extras and single nudge the South Africa score on by five runs.

Chloe Tryon is so talented but she has struggled to nail that consistency in ODIs in particular.

You'd normally say she's there for a good time, not a long time!

  5. SA 186-5published at 37 overs

Four singles from Alice Capsey's latest over mean this partnership continues to go at pretty much a run a ball.

The perfect platform for a late charge you'd think.

It's been a really good contest between bat and ball so far. England are giving away one boundary ball per over at the moment which is releasing the pressure a bit on South Africa.

But they need one of these two to be in at the end of the innings if they are going to post a competitive score.

Marizanne Kapp just uses the length perfectly there. A class shot from a classy player.

  8. SA 182-5published at 36 overs

Lauren Bell comes back into the attack - and that is a lovely shot from Marizanne Kapp.

It is a length ball but Kapp strides forward to play it on the front foot, guiding the ball through point for four. One for the textbook.

250 would be a decent score and I don't think it would be a bad thing for England to be presented with a tough chase for the first time in a while.

That's where Chloe Tryon is at her best, coming down the pitch and attacking the spinner.

  11. SA 176-5published at 35 overs

Chloe Tryon skips down the track and powers Alice Capsey through mid-wicket for four. She goes again to end the over, with a one-bounce four through the same region.

Tryon looking to wrestle a little bit of initiative South Africa's way.

South Africa have a long tail so this is the last partnership that England really need to break.

  13. SA 164-5published at 34 overs

Those always hurt. Heather Knight is alert at mid-wicket to dive to her right and cut the ball off, but she lands on one of the other dusty squares.

She walks away looking at her right arm while muttering to herself.

    Five singles from the over.

  14. Postpublished at 14:24 Greenwich Mean Time 11 December

    Alex Hartley
Former England bowler on BBC Test Match Special

Chloe Tryon is a great ball-striker but she is much better when she has less time to bat, when she has about 10 overs to just go out there and finish an innings.

The more that she pokes and prods, the more vulnerable she is.

  15. Eng 159-5published at 33 overs

Chloe Tryon is the new batter as Alice Capsey races through her over at the cost of just two runs.

You can hear the England players chattering away in the field. They sense the chance to press home their advantage.

Marizanne Kapp now has a huge amount of weight on her shoulders, she's going to have to pull off something very special for South Africa.

  17. wicket

    WICKETpublished at 32 overs

    Dercksen lbw b Dean 13 (SA 156-5)

No bat involved and then another umpire's call for impact, going on to clip the top of middle and leg.

Dercksen cannot believe it, but she has to go.

    Another breakthrough for England.

  18. Postpublished at 14:19 Greenwich Mean Time 11 December

    Alex Hartley
Former England bowler on BBC Test Match Special

If there's no bat involved, this is a terrible review.

  19. South Africa reviewpublished at 32 overs

Charlie Dean celebrates as she traps Annerie Dercksen bang in front.

It hit Dercksen on the back pad so it may be a touch high, or flicked off the edge.

Either way, Dercksen sends it upstairs.

If these two can build a partnership and give Chloe Tryon a platform which will allow her to come in at the end of the innings, they could get up to 250 but England are bowling brilliantly.
