  1. Lunch at Old Traffordpublished at 13:14 26 May

    Lancashire 120-6 v Warwickshire 284

Matty Hurst pulls the final ball of Hassan Ali's over to the boundary to end the session.

It's a session of three rain breaks and three wickets to make life very uncomfortable for Lancashire batters.

George Balderson and Keaton Jennings had mounted a little bit of a recovery but Jacob Bethell has removed both, albeit with a hint of controversy about both calls.

Bethell's figures are an impressive 2-4 from eight overs.

  2. WICKET Jennings lbw b Bethell 36published at 13:08 26 May

    Lancashire 116-6 v Warwickshire 284

This is the wicket the Bears wanted!

Keaton Jennings' 139-ball stay at the crease is brought to an end. He gets a big stride in, and the ball may have been drifting towards leg, but umpire Ian Blackwell is again Warwickshire's friend.

The Bears are well on top now.

  3. Postpublished at 13:08 26 May

    Lancashire 116-5 v Warwickshire 284

    Ooooh, that is close!

Hassan Ali bustles in and strikes Matty Hurst on the pads. That is very perpendicular but nothing given and Hurst survives.

  4. Lunch at Lord'spublished at 13:07 26 May

    Middlesex 140-1 v Sussex 554-9 dec

It's been a frustrating morning for Sussex at Lord's and Max Holden edging Danny Lamb for four in the final over of the session underlines that feeling.

The visitors have been unable to separate Holden and Sam Robson, who resumed with the score 62-1 and have added 78 to extend their partnership to 127.

Robson is 79 not out and his partner has 55.

  5. Inspection at New Roadpublished at 13:06 26 May

    Worcs 80 v Notts 234-3

The gloom has given way to blue skies and fluffy white clouds in Worcester and the umpires are making an inspection.

Having assessed the situation, they decide to take another look at 15:00 BST.

  6. Lunch at Southamptonpublished at 13:03 26 May

    Hants 608-6 v Surrey 127 & 18-0 - trail by 463

Spin at both ends before lunch as Felix Organ turns his arm over to Dom Sibley.

The Surrey opener plays that out comfortably enough for a maiden and that's lunch.

Rory Burns (13) and Sibley (5) have done their job and made it through to the break unscathed.

They faced an awkward 40-minute spell after James Vince declared Hampshire’s first innings, deciding that 481-run lead would do.

Ben Brown was allowed to eclipse his previous best first-class score, reaching 165 not out, before Vince waved him in.

    Earlier, Liam Dawson made 81.

Surrey will lunch 463 in arrears.

  7. Lunch at Canterburypublished at 13:03 26 May

    Kent 203-4 v Essex 591-7 dec

Matt Critchley whizzes through a maiden to complete the morning session.

And what a couple of hours it has been for Kent on Kent Day with Joe Denly and Matt Parkinson batting through unbroken.

Denly has 45, a score that has been matched by Parkinson, for whom this is a career-best first-class score.

  8. 200 up for Kentpublished at 13:01 26 May

    Kent 203-4 v Essex 591-7 dec

Joe Denly pumps Simon Harmer over the ropes for his second maximum of the morning.

That brings up the 200 for Kent as they close in on an unblemished opening session.

  9. Postpublished at 13:01 26 May

    Hants 608-6 v Surrey 127 & 18-0 - trail by 463

As in the first innings, slow left-armer Liam Dawson is introduced early at Southampton. This time after eight overs.

Dom Sibley takes a single off the fist ball, but there's a big cry of 'oh!' as Rory Burns' defensive push finds the hands of short leg. Luckily for him on the bounce.

More anguished cries as Burns works it off his pad to short leg, again on the bounce, before driving the final ball through the onside for two.

  10. 50 for Max Holdenpublished at 13:00 26 May

    Middx 131-1 v Sussex 544-9 dec

    Max HoldenImage source, Rex Features

Easy as you like, Max Holden tucks Danny Lamb off his hip for one and goes to 50 off 125 balls.

He has converted his last two half-centuries into three-figure scores. Will he do it again today?

  11. WICKET Balderson c Rhodes b Bethell 12published at 12:58 26 May

    Lancashire 113-5 v Warwickshire 284

A great ball from Jacob Bethell brings the end of George Balderson.

Left-arm spinner to left-hander and the bowler gets one to turn out of the rough and the catch is well taken by Will Rhodes at slip.

Balderson is not convinced he hit it, but the finger goes up and he's on his way.

And replays suggest the batter may have a point.

  12. Lunch at Northamptonpublished at 12:57 26 May

    Northants 301 v Yorkshire 362 & 43-2

With the players off the field because of rain, the umpires have decided that lunch will be taken.

Just 13.3 overs bowled this morning, with Yorkshire losing Finlay Bean for a duck during a superb spell by Ben Sanderson.

The Northants seamer has 2-10 from six overs. Adam Lyth (27) and Shan Masood (15) are the not out Yorkshire batters.

The umpires hope play can resume at 13:25 BST.

  13. Postpublished at 12:54 26 May

    Middx 126-1 v Sussex 554-9 dec

Interesting thinking by Sussex skipper John Simpson who has a silly mid-off and silly mid-on in place for Max Holden, who edges Danny Lamb past first slip to end the Middlesex boundary drought.

That's much better by Sam Robson in the next over as he drives spinner Jack Carson to extra cover for four more.

  14. Postpublished at 12:52 26 May

    Kent 196-4 v Essex 591-7 dec

Matt Parkinson fancies a 50 as he slog sweeps Simon Harmer away for more to get to 44.

He then steers one wide of slip to add one more more and move to 45 not out.

This is not what Lancashire fans remember of a classic rabbit!

  15. 'Batters seem tentative on this wicket'published at 12:52 26 May

    Middx 118-1 v Sussex 554-9 dec

    Guy Swindells
    BBC Radio London

We've seen throughout this match so far that batsmen seem very tentative on this wicket of going on the attack.

They seem to be slightly afraid of doing so unless the ball is rank.

The run rate has now slipped to 2.76 so Middlesex need to crank it up a little if they want three batting points.

  16. Rain stops play at Grace Roadpublished at 12:51 26 May

    Leics 300-6 v Glamorgan 387

The stop-start theme continues in Leicester as a sharp shower sends umpires and players marching to the pavilion.

The covers are on and we are in early lunch territory.

  17. Career best for Parkinsonpublished at 12:49 26 May

    Kent 189-4 v Essex 591-7 dec

Kent Day will be one to remember for Matt Parkinson!

He picks up a single to reach 40 and set a new career-best first-class score, bettering the 39 he made against Surrey last month.

    Well batted Parky!

  18. Burns gets a lifelinepublished at 12:49 26 May

    Hants 608-6 v Surrey 127 & 15-0 - trail by 466

Michael Neser has his hands on his head once again as Rory Burns survives a big scare.

He finds the outside edge of Burns bat and it flies past second slip to the third man boundary for four, just moments after Toby Albert was taken out of third slip.

    That's got to sting.

  19. Postpublished at 12:47 26 May

    Middx 118-1 v Sussex 554-9 dec

Lord's Cricket GroundImage source, Rex Features

Compared to what has been going on in Bristol, it's pretty sedate fare at Lord's where they haven't had a boundary for eight overs.

That won't bother Sam Robson and Max Holden, though, whose partnership is now worth 105.

Robson is 71 not out and Holden has 41.

  20. Second batting point for Leicestershirepublished at 12:47 26 May

    Leics 300-6 v Glamorgan 387

Scott Currie forces Zain-ul-Hussan throigh the covers and takes three.

Ben Cox repeats the shot to the next ball, but it slows up on the damp outfield and refuses to reach the rope.

Instead the batters race through for that rare thing - the all-run four.

That brings up the 300 in the 93rd over.
