  1. Postpublished at 12:14 26 May

    Middx 105-1 v Sussex 554-9 dec

Sussex are still searching for their first breakthrough of the morning at Lord's.

Jayden Seales is now into the attack but strays onto Max Holden's pads and is clipped away for four.

Holden has 40 and Sam Robson is now 60 not out.

  2. Play delayed (again) at Grace Roadpublished at 12:14 26 May

    Leics 282-5 v Glamorgan 387

    This is so, so frustrating.

Zain-ul-Hassan manages just three balls before the umpires are called to look at a suspect damp patch at mid-off.

The players are ordered off after nine balls.

  3. HAMPSHIRE DECLARE ON 608-6published at 12:13 26 May

    Hants 608-6 v Surrey 127

That's it, Hants skipper James Vince allows his wicketkeeper his new batting feat and then declares at the end of the over.

The lead is a stately 481 and Surrey have work to do.

An awkward little session before lunch to come.

  4. Rain stops play in Northamptonpublished at 12:12 26 May

    Northants 301 v Yorks 362 & 43-2

Rain arrives at Wantage Road and the players head off to the dressing rooms.

Yorkshire resumed on 0-1 and have done well to get this far for only the loss of Finlay Bean in bowler-friendly conditions.

Siddarth Kaul, though, is giving Shan Masood too much room outside off stump and the left-hander deflected through backward point for four just before the interruption.

  5. First-class best for Brownpublished at 12:12 26 May

    Hants 608-6 v Surrey 127

Ben Brown picks up yet another single off Cam Steel to take Hampshire to 600 in the 160th over.

    Four more singles follow.

The third new ball is due but Surrey continue with the old cherry as Dan Lawrence whirrs his arms.

An umpteenth single of the morning then takes Brown past his previous career high-score of 163.

  6. Postpublished at 12:09 26 May

    Glos 325-4 v Derbys 526

We had a brief rain interruption at Bristol but the players are back in the middle and Graeme van Buuren drives Daryn Dupavillion through the covers for four.

Practically no foot movement, but it doesn't matter as long as the middle of the bat meets the ball.

Van Buuren is 104 not out and James Bracey now has 116.

  7. Second four for Jenningspublished at 12:07 26 May

    Lancashire 90-4 v Warwickshire 284

From his 108th ball, Keaton Jennings scores his second boundary of the innings with a nice cut off Olly Hannon-Dalby.

That moves his score up to 21.

  8. Play resumes at Old Traffordpublished at 12:06 26 May

    Lancashire 86-4 v Warwickshire 284

After a brief rain delay, George Balderson and Keaton Jennings are ready to face the music again.

We lost three overs in that brief interlude.

  9. Play under way at Grace Roadpublished at 12:05 26 May

    Leics 282-5 v Glamorgan 387

Timm van der Gugten opens up the day for Glamorgan as Scott Currie faces.

We've lost only eight overs to that hour's delay and lunch will be taken at 1.10pm.

Scott Curries takes two from the second ball and then van der Gugten lets out a delayed appeal as he thuds one into Currie's pads.

    Not convincing, not given.

Zain-ul-Hassan opens at the other end to century-maker Peter Handscomb.

  10. 'Sharp showers but hopefully short showers'published at 12:04 26 May

    Lancashire 86-4 v Warwickshire 284

    Mike Taylor
    BBC WM commentator

I think this is how it's going to be today.

Sharp showers but hopefully short showers.

If it's going to be like this where we're coming on and off at a quick draining ground - that's not great for batting.

  11. Postpublished at 12:02 26 May

    Northants 301 v Yorks 362 & 35-2

Shan Masood was beaten by an absolute beauty from Ben Sanderson in the previous over.

Siddarth Kaul, though, seems much to his liking as the Yorkshire skipper puts away a short one and then square drives the next ball for another four.

We are going to see some spin now in the shape of Rob Keogh.

  12. Postpublished at 12:02 26 May

    Hants 585-6 v Surrey 127

Dan Lawrence is introduced for his first action of the day.

There are singles everywhere for the Hants batters and Ben Brown and James Fuller take three apiece.

Brown takes two more singles off Cam Steel and moves to 158 and that's his best first-class score for Hampshire.

  13. Rain stops playpublished at 11:57 26 May

    Lancashire 86-4 v Warwickshire 284

After 8.5 overs of cricket, the players are heading off and the covers are coming on.

We have rain at Emirates Old Trafford.

  14. 150 for Ben Brownpublished at 11:56 26 May

    Hants 573-6 v Surrey 127

Ben Brown pushes down the ground and considers a second off the final ball of Sean Abbott's 23rd over, but thinks better of it.

On 149, he tickles Cam Steel's second ball down to third leg for two to move to 151.

It's come at a brisk pace, off just 161 balls, with 15 fours and that maximum.

He's now just 13 away from a new first-class best.

  15. Spin for Essexpublished at 11:56 26 May

    Kent 145-4 v Essex 591-7 dec

The seamers have not been able to make the breakthrough in the first hour, so Essex captain Tom Westley turns to spin.

First up it is the leg breaks of Matt Critchley.

  16. Ton up for Jenningspublished at 11:52 26 May

    Lancashire 81-4 v Warwickshire 284

Keaton Jennings has passed his century... of balls faced!

The Lancashire skipper is not really in much of a hurry though as he has picked up 16 from 105 balls.

  17. 100 for Graeme van Buurenpublished at 11:51 26 May

    Glos 317-4 v Derbys 526

    Gloucestershire are motoring along now.

After James Bracey despatches a low full toss from Luis Reece to the mid-on boundary to push the total past 300, Graeme van Buuren helps himself to three successive boundaries off Alex Thomson to reach his hundred off 142 balls.

A square cut is followed by two sumptuous cover drives and that is the 15th red-ball ton of van Buuren's career - and second in a row in the County Championship.

This partnership is now worth 186.

  18. Postpublished at 11:49 26 May

    Hants 562-6 v Surrey 127

Leg spinner Cam Steel replaces Gus Atkinson as Surrey make a change.

He starts the day with figures of 0-141 off 27 overs after a thankless couple of days.

Ben Brown and James Fuller trade two singles apiece before Brown milks a third single off the last ball to go to 146.

Every fielder is on the boundary.

  19. Postpublished at 11:49 26 May

    Northants 301 v Yorks 362 & 24-2

This is real old-fashioned Championship cricket at Wantage Road.

The ball is doing a bit, four slips are in and Adam Lyth and Shan Masood are having to prioritise preserving their wickets over extravagant strokeplay at the moment.

A loud appeal by Ben Sanderson ends the latest over, but the umpire must have decided that was missing leg stump. Looked mighty close, though.

  20. Hampshire move past 550published at 11:42 26 May

    Hants 551-6 v Surrey 127

Ben Brown punches Gus Atkinson through the covers for back-to-back boundaries to take Hampshire past 550.

It takes the England paceman past 100 runs for the innings and Brown to 141.

He needs 23 more runs for a new first-class best.
