Word is that Keith Barker was warned for running down the wicket.

Rory Burns probably wished he hadn't after falling just two balls later.

Ollie Pope has a little nibble at the final ball of the over and almost gets an edge as it flies through to wicketkeeper Ben Brown.

Dom Sibley then takes a single from Felix Organ before Pope gets on the front foot and pushes through the covers for his first boundary. Classy shot.

    He moves to eight.

  2. Dropped catchpublished at 14:28 26 May

    Kent 228-5 v Essex 591-7 dec

Essex have had to work so hard for wickets today so this is a big let-off.

Harry Finch takes on the short ball from Aaron Beard and hits it straight down to deep square leg, but Matt Critchley shells it.

How costly will that prove to be?

  3. Postpublished at 14:26 26 May

    Northants 301 v Yorks 362 & 112-3

Yorkshire are clearly targeting Rob Keogh.

James Wharton doesn't get to the pitch of that one but makes a clean enough contact to clear the long-off boundary.

There's a mix-up with Shan Masood later in the over as Wharton sets off for a second and has to get his skates on to avoid being run out after his partner says 'no, thanks.'

Spinner Felix Organ returns to the Hampshire attack in place of Kyle Abbott.

His fifth ball prompts a shout from the close-in fielders as a pad-bat from Ollie Pope almost reaches the man at short midwicket.

Pope then squeezes the final ball into the offside for a couple.

Leus du Plooy seems to be seeing it well early in his innings.

He flicks Ollie Robinson for four through mid-wicket and then chops Jack Carson to the backward point boundary in the next over.

    He is 17 not out.

    Hants 608-6 v Surrey 127 & 33-1 - trail by 448

Keith Barker strays on to Dom Sibley's pads and the former England opener turns it fine round the corner to the fine leg boundary.

He moves to 14 off 58 balls.

A few batters to come before this is a consideration, but there are question marks over whether Ben Foakes will bat.

The England wicketkeeper injured his back while batting on day one. He's been off the field since his innings came to an end.

  7. WICKET Bailey st Burgess b Bethell 4published at 14:17 26 May

    Lancashire 136-8 v Warwickshire 284

Jacob Bethell continues to run through the Lancashire batting as he picks up a fourth wicket.

Tom Bailey had been living dangerously and his innings is brought to an end as he injudiciously charges down the wicket and is stumped by a mile.

Before this innings, Bethell had two first-class wickets. He has 4-10 today!

  8. 'Sibley could be key to this match'published at 14:15 26 May

I think the key to this match could well be Dom Sibley. He has the potential to be the glue that holds this Surrey innings together.

If Hampshire can get Sibley early doors then I think they'll be cock-a-hoop.

  9. Postpublished at 14:13 26 May

    Leics 318-6 v Glamorgan 387

Australian batter Marnus Labuschagne turns his arm over in tandem with Mason Crane.

Three singles and a leg bye is the result as Leicestershire close to within 69 runs of Glamorgan's first knock.

  10. Lancs avoid follow-onpublished at 14:12 26 May

    Lancashire 135-7 v Warwickshire

Matty Hurst tucks Rob Yates away into the legside for a single and that is Lancashire's first task achieved.

They avoid the follow-on at least, although they remain 149 runs behind with just three wickets remaining.

  11. 50 for Shan Masoodpublished at 14:12 26 May

    Northants 301 v Yorks 362 & 96-3

There's the second fifty of the match for Yorkshire's skipper.

He turns Ben Sanderson for two to reach his half-century off 72 balls.

But let-off follows as third slip Ricardo Vasconcelos dives across in front of Emilio Gay at second and neither can hang onto the catch.

  12. Postpublished at 14:12 26 May

    Northants 301 v Yorks 362 & 93-3

In case you were wondering, pace bowler Jack White is not on the field for Northants. He's had injury problems since pre-season so we hope it's nothing serious.

Spinner Rob Keogh pulls one down short and Shan Masood has loads of time to pull it over mid-wicket for six.

  13. Postpublished at 14:10 26 May

    Middx 154-2 v Sussex 554-9 dec

Leus du Plooy is not what you might call a 'plodder' and provides an early show of intent as he sweeps Jack Carson for four. Partner Sam Robson is now 82 not out.

  14. WICKET Burns c Dawson b Barker 17published at 14:09 26 May

    Hants 608-6 v Surrey 127 & 26-1 - trail by 455

The umpire has a word with Keith Barker and points to the pitch and Hampshire skipper James Vince.

Not sure if that's an official warning for running down the wicket, but it's a word.

He then angles one in and almost takes the edge of Rory Burns' bat.

    And then. Gone!

Maybe spooked by the previous delivery, Burns hangs back to a ball that straightens and this time gets an edge which flies to Liam Dawson at first slip.

Barker has his first wicket of the match and Ollie Pope is next man in.

  15. Postpublished at 14:05 26 May

    Northants 301 v Yorks 362 & 83-3

    Unlucky.

Shan Masood gets away with a big inside edge which just misses the stumps and then hits the helmet behind keeper Lewis McManus.

You can probably imagine what bowler Siddarth Kaul makes of that.

  16. WICKET Parkinson lbw b Porter 48published at 14:04 26 May

    Kent 217-5 v Essex 591-7 dec

    Oh no, what a shame!

Matt Parkinson falls two short of a maiden first-class 50 as he is hit on the pads by Jamie Porter and the umpire decides that is hitting leg stump.

A vital wicket for Essex to end this stand of 112 between the night-watchman and Joe Denly.

Parkinson survived 158 balls and has done a super job for his team.

  17. Postpublished at 14:03 26 May

    Leics 310-6 v Glamorgan 387

Mason Crane is straight on after lunch in tandem with James Harris and keeps things tight with two maidens.

Scott Currie breaks the spinner's run of 14 dots by taking a couple and then scampers through for a rushed single to move to 25.

  18. Latest from Bristolpublished at 14:01 26 May

    Glos 399-4 v Derbys 526

There will be a 15:00 BST inspection at Bristol, where the players have been off the field since rain arrived about 15 minutes before the scheduled lunch interval.

Graeme van Buuren and James Bracey both have unbeaten centuries.

  19. Lancs need to beware the follow-onpublished at 14:00 26 May

    Lancashire 125-7 v Warwickshire 284

New batter Tom Bailey gets off the mark from his first ball.

He has some immediate work to do as the Red Rose still need to pass the follow-on target of 135.

  20. Dropped catchpublished at 13:58 26 May

    Hants 608-6 v Surrey 127 & 22-0 - trail by 459

Rory Burns drives Keith Barker for four through the covers for a boundary and the first runs of the afternoon after back-to-back maidens.

Kyle Abbott is already causing problems here.

His eighth ball of the innings just clears the top of off-stump after Dom Sibley belatedly decides to leave.

Then the next brings a drop as Sibley plays forward and edges low to second slip.

Difficult chance but it's grassed. Another maiden from Abbott.
