A couple of runs off Ollie Robinson and that's a 76-ball fifty for Sam Robson. No joy yet for Sussex, who yesterday made a club record total against Middlesex.

James Bracey made 102 against Yorkshire last month and now he has another one.

The left-hander reaches three figures off 151 balls by steering Luis Reece away square for four.

It's the 11th first-class century of his career.

  3. WICKET Neser c sub b Atkinson 3published at 11:37 26 May

    Hants 542-6 v Surrey 127

A relative clatter of wickets at Southampton!

The experiment to promote Michael Neser up the order for quick runs doesn't quite come off as he tries to sweep Gus Atkinson through the leg side but instead picks out sub fielder Nathan Barnwell.

That's Atkinson's first wicket and comes for 96 runs in the 27th over.

James Fuller, who batted Hants to victory at Trent Bridge on Monday, is next man in.

  4. Postpublished at 11:36 26 May

    Kent 134-4 v Essex 591-7 dec

The sun is out, it's Kent Day and Matt Parkinson is driving gloriously through the covers.

    What is not to enjoy?

Parkinson is up to 21 and his batting is showing big signs of improvement since his switch from Lancashire.

  5. Postpublished at 11:35 26 May

    Hants 541-5 v Surrey 127

Ben Brown carries on his merry way as he pulls Sean Abbott over deep backward square leg boundary for his first six.

He then smacks Abbott through the legside for another four.

Abbott's next ball keeps low and Brown nudges it for a single to move to 132.

  6. Happy Kent Day!published at 11:34 26 May

    Kent 130-4 v Essex 591-7 dec

For those of you not based in the Garden of England, may we wish you a Happy Kent Day!

It is not to coincide with the birthday of Colin Cowdrey, Alan Knott or Derek Underwood, but it is actually the feast day of St Augustine, the first Archbishop of Canterbury.

The best way the cricketers can celebrate such a momentous day is by batting all three sessions!

On that front, so far so good in this opening half hour from Joe Denly and Matt Parkinson.

  7. Hampshire lead moves past 400published at 11:31 26 May

    Hants 530-5 v Surrey 127

Ben Brown is off his feet as he lunges sideways at a Gus Atkinson ball wide of off stump.

He gets something on it and guides it down to third man for two.

It's not textbook but it takes the lead to 400 and the question is how many James Vince wants before he waves his batters in.

There's still plenty of time, but he may need it on this track to bowl Surrey out.

  8. Postpublished at 11:29 26 May

    Northants 301 v Yorks 301 & 9-2

Justin Broad is convinced Adam Lyth got a nick on that as Lewis McManus catches the ball down the leg-side.

The umpire doesn't agree - must have flicked the trousers.

  9. 'Ideal start for the Bears'published at 11:27 26 May

    Lancashire 69-4 v Warwickshire 284

    Scott Read
    BBC Radio Lancashire

Olly Hannon-Dalby strikes again, sneaking one through, come back into Tom Bruce and beats his defences.

Hannon-Dalby picks up his third wicket.

An ideal start for the Bears and the worst possible start for Lancashire.

  10. WICKET Dawson c Smith b Abbott 81published at 11:24 26 May

    Hants 521-5 v Surrey 127

Liam Dawson has been looking to get a move on this morning and promptly missed a couple this morning.

This time he steps across his stumps looking to steer Sean Abbott over the head of Jamie Smith.

Instead he feathers it straight to the wicketkeeper and goes for a 93-ball knock of 81.

    That partnership was worth 183.

Michael Neser comes to the crease to join Ben Brown.

  11. WICKET Bruce b Hannon-Dalby 3published at 11:23 26 May

    Lancashire 69-4 v Warwickshire 284

Tom Bruce has come and gone!

The New Zealand batter has his stumps splattered by Olly Hannon-Dalby's third ball of the morning.

The Warwickshire opening bowler is always on the money early doors and he has an immediate reward.

It is now one half-century in 11 Lancashire innings for Bruce.

  12. WICKET Bean c McManus b Sanderson 0published at 11:22 26 May

    Northants 301 v Yorks 362 & 8-2

First wicket of the day and it's the ever reliable Ben Sanderson who has it.

He finds just enough movement to take the edge of Finlay Bean's bat and it's a comfortable catch for keeper Lewis McManus.

Yorkshire are 69 in front as skipper Shan Masood comes to the crease. Four slips now in place.

  13. Dropped catchpublished at 11:20 26 May

    Hants 518-4 v Surrey 127

It seems harsh to call this one a drop - it would have been a beauty had it been taken.

Ben Brown hits Sean Abbott hard to mid-off where Rory Burns makes an athletic leap, but his one-handed catch fails to stick. He instead takes two more.

Brown then almost gets himself run out as he takes a quick leg bye off Gus Atkinson in the next over.

He may have been walking back had Jordan Clark pulled off a direct hit.

    The lead is 391.

  14. Postpublished at 11:19 26 May

    Northants 301 v Yorks 362 & 4-1

We are under way at Wantage Road.

Finlay Bean plays out three balls from Ben Sanderson to complete an over that was interrupted by Dom Leech's dismissal last night.

First-innings centurion Adam Lyth takes guard at the other end and drives streakily down to third man for four to put Yorkshire's first runs on the board.

  15. Play in Manchesterpublished at 11:18 26 May

    Lancashire 69-3 v Warwickshire 284

That burst of rain has relented, the covers are off and the players are on the field.

Jake Lintott has the ball to complete his over and new batter Tom Bruce gets off the mark with two straight away and then a single.

We have lost four overs of cricket.

  16. Batting point for Gloucestershirepublished at 11:16 26 May

    Glos 252-4 v Derbys 526

Gloucestershire's total moves past 250 as James Bracey punches a Sam Conners no-ball away for a single. It also takes the left-hander into the 90s - is the day's second hundred on the way?

  17. Postpublished at 11:15 26 May

    Hants 510-4 v Surrey 127

Jamie Smith continues to take the gloves in this match due to a back spasm for Ben Foakes.

The England wicketkeeper is expected to bat when Surrey bat again.

Ben Brown takes a two off Gus Atkinson and then wants the strike for the next over as he scampers a single off the sixth ball.

Brown moves effortlessly to 110 - his first-class career best is 163.

    The partnership is worth 172.

  18. 'We could be in for a slightly frustrating day'published at 11:13 26 May

    Lancashire 66-3 v Warwickshire 284

    Scott Read
    BBC Radio Lancashire

It's not the most summery of scenes but it's dry and a lot better than what the forecast is suggesting.

It could be a day where we're a little bit on and off.

If there are showers, and some thunder and lightening which is being forecast, then I reckon we could be in for a slightly frustrating day.

  19. No Cook for Essexpublished at 11:10 26 May

    Kent 118-4 v Essex 591-7 dec

    Sam CookImage source, Rex Features

Essex will have to do without Sam Cook this morning after he limped off the field yesterday.

Our BBC Sport colleague, Alex Hoad, has also informed us that Wes Agar is unlikely to play any further part in this match after the Aussie quick injured his shoulder on day one.

So Essex are a bowler down but are likely to only need to take nine wickets in each Kent innings.

Agar's injury is another problem for Kent as they have seven bowlers currently unavailable.

  20. 'There's so many stories within the story'published at 11:10 26 May

    Hants 507-4 v Surrey 127

    Dan Whiting
    BBC Radio London

It's going to be a fascinating morning.

There's so many stories within the story.

Can Surrey bat now for five sessions?

I think it's been a wonderful game of cricket. It's been attritional, it's been hard cricket and is exactly what Division One was designed for.
