    Division Two latest

The big scores in this early season keep on coming!

Northants opener Emilio Gay has gone past 250 with his side now on 471-4 against Middlesex. James Sales has 69 at the other end.

Gloucestershire's Australian opener Cameron Bancroft has reached his fifty against Yorkshire. The hosts are handily placed in Bristol on 114-3, replying to Yorkshire's 326.

Sussex are also going along nicely in their first innings. Tom Haines has 78 in their 135-1. They trail Leicestershire by 203.

And in Cardiff, Derbyshire just continue to shade things against Glamorgan. They're 143-4 and 94 behind with Wayne Madsen on 47.

  2. 50 partnershippublished at 14:20 British Summer Time 13 April

    Hampshire 367 v Lancashire 50-0

Good stuff from Lancashire pair Keaton Jennings and Luke Wells as they bring up the 50.

Wells is leading the way with 37 as his captain is still in single figures.

  3. 50 up for Kentpublished at 14:19 British Summer Time 13 April

    Essex 530-7 dec v Kent 50-1

Jamie Porter is back on for his second spell of the innings and Daniel Bell-Drummond has just glanced him for a single to bring 50 onto the scoreboard for Kent.

Still another 331 required to beat the follow-on target, of course, but the visitors haven't looked in any real difficulty since lunch.

With that said, Ben Compton was given a life on 16 when he edged Simon Harmer, but the slip fielder failed to hang on.

  4. 'I thought Warwickshire might have gone on'published at 14:18 British Summer Time 13 April

    Warwickshire 698-3 dec v Durham 0-0

    Brian Halford
    BBC Coventry & Warwickshire

I thought that Warwickshire might have gone on a little bit further to just try and get more fielding in the Durham legs but this will move the match forward now.

  5. Pope back where he lovespublished at 14:13 British Summer Time 13 April

    Surrey 172-1 v Somerset

Ollie Pope gets up and running with a lovely midwicket clip for four off Migael Pretorius.

How many times have we seen him do that at The Oval?

  6. 549 to avoid follow-onpublished at 14:12 British Summer Time 13 April

    Warwickshire 698-3 dec v Durham 0-0

Durham openers Alex Lees and Scott Borthwick have made their way to the middle.

    The follow-on target is 549!

  7. Good stuff from Bashirpublished at 14:08 British Summer Time 13 April

    Surrey 167-1 v Somerset 285

Shoaib Bashir is doing a good job for Lewis Gregory.

He has removed Burns and his 14 overs have only cost 25 runs.

Expect a long spell for him this afternoon as England colleague Ollie Pope has come to the middle.

  8. 'Sussex getting themselves into a good position'published at 14:06 British Summer Time 13 April

    Leics 338 v Sussex 122-1

    Richard Rae
    BBC Radio Leicester Sport

Sussex, quietly, effectively, steadily getting themselves into a rather good position in this game.

  9. wicket

WICKET Burns c Rew b Bashir 75published at 14:04 British Summer Time 13 April

    Surrey 167-1 v Somerset 285

    Somerset strike.

Shoaib Bashir is the man to grab the wicket as his quicker ball gets rid of Rory Burns as he attempts to cut.

Still, a terrific opening stand between him and Dom Sibley.

  10. WARWICKSHIRE DECLARE ON 698-3published at 14:00 British Summer Time 13 April

    Warwickshire 698-3 dec v Durham

At the end of the over in which Dan Mousley reaches 50, Warwickshire declare.

They will not match their record score of 810-4 dec, ending 112 shy.

Will Rhodes walks off unbeaten on 178 with Mousley on 55.

Of course, Alex Davies top scored with a career-best 256 and Rob Yates smashed 191.

Callum Parkinson did grab two wickets, but his 40 overs went for 206.

  11. wicket

WICKET: Libby c Harrison b Pennington 2published at 13:58 British Summer Time 13 April

    Notts 399 v Worcs 4-2

    That is an outstanding catch!

Calvin Harrison's already registered his maiden half-century today - now he adds some icing to that cake with a one-handed diving leap at second slip that brings Nottinghamshire their second wicket inside the first eight balls of the innings.

Former Notts batter Jake Libby pushes at one outside off stump from ex-Worcestershire seamer Dillon Pennington and Harrison launches himself to pull off a magnificent take.

The Pears are in trouble already...

  12. 50 runs

50 for Dan Mousleypublished at 13:58 British Summer Time 13 April

    Warwickshire 692-3 v Durham

    The landmarks keep on coming.

This time, it's for Dan Mousley as he reverse sweeps Colin Ackermann fine to the vacant boundary.

It has come off 51 balls.

Spare a thought amidst all these runs for Ed Barnard - and his one off four balls!

  13. Postpublished at 13:54 British Summer Time 13 April

    Surrey 163-0 v Somerset 285

A nice sunny day, a decent-sized crowd in place. There is no question what the Surrey fans want to see - stacks of runs.

Rory Burns and Dom Sibley are leading the way and someone is really going to have to stand up for Somerset this afternoon.

  14. 'Gloucestershire continue their battle'published at 13:53 British Summer Time 13 April

    Gloucs 91-3 v Yorkshire 326

    Ed Seabourne
    BBC Radio Bristol

We're still in sunshine as Gloucestershire continue their battle against the Yorkshire attack and the Yorkshire attack continue their battle against the Kookaburra ball and the Bristol pitch.

  15. 'Surrey in a position to build a sizable lead'published at 13:53 British Summer Time 13 April

    Surrey 158-0 v Somerset 285

    Roland Butcher
Former Middlesex and England batter on BBC Radio London

Two sessions to go really and Surrey in a position to build a sizable lead.

  16. wicket

WICKET: Roderick lbw b Fletcher 0published at 13:52 British Summer Time 13 April

    Notts 399 v Worcs 0-1

Luke Fletcher celebrates taking wicketImage source, Rex Features

That's quite a start to the afternoon session for Nottinghamshire and Luke Fletcher!

It's only the third delivery of the innings and Fletcher grabs his first wicket of the season by pinning Gareth Roderick leg before for a duck.

Out comes Kashif Ali, fresh from his twin hundreds against Warwickshire last week. The Pears wouldn't say no to more of the same from him today.

  17. 'Bears have to make Durham follow on'published at 13:52 British Summer Time 13 April

    Warwickshire 677-3 v Durham

    Brian Halford
    BBC Coventry & Warwickshire

My theory is that as soon as Durham avoid the follow on this match is dead.

So I just wonder if Warwickshire will try and make that follow on figure as tall as possible. Of course that means that they'll take more time out of the game, so it is a tricky one.

They've got to make Durham follow on, if Warwickshire bat again it's a draw.

  18. Keaton on the walkpublished at 13:51 British Summer Time 13 April

    Hampshire 367 v Lancashire 18-0

Kyle Abbott and Mohammad Abbas have continued after lunch.

In an effort to counter their threat, Lancashire captain Keaton Jennings is happy to bat on the walk.

That means coming out of his crease to smother the ball. But he's a tall man and it can be effective.

  19. Postpublished at 13:49 British Summer Time 13 April

    Essex 530-7 dec v Kent 35-1

Simon Harmer is wheeling away straight after lunch as Essex seek to make further inroads on this Kent batting line-up.

Harmer is getting the odd ball to turn, no question about that, but the batters are applying themselves well, with Ben Compton on 18 and Daniel Bell-Drummond six.

  20. Bears bat onpublished at 13:47 British Summer Time 13 April

    Warwickshire 668-3 v Durham

Warwickshire are batting on and Will Rhodes gets an easy four off Brydon Carse as he guides it to the 50-yard boundary.

The disparity from one side to the other is a bit club cricket, truth be told.

It brings up the 100 partnership between Rhodes and Dan Mousley.
