  1. Division Two updatepublished at 17:34 British Summer Time

Lancashire are 287-7 and closing on a second batting point with Chris Green on 80*, having been 44-4 at one stage, remember, against Derbyshire at Chesterfield.

Kent are 295-4 and eyeing a second bonus point too against Northamptonshire at Canterbury, with Daniel Bell-Drummond closing on a half-century.

Middlesex are 286-4 against leaders Leicestershire at Grace Road with Leus du Plooy joined in the middle by Ben Geddes after Ryan Higgins went for nine.

James Bracey and Zaman Akhter have steered Gloucestershire to a bonus point at Glamorgan, where the visitors are 250-6.

  2. 300 runs

300 up for Bearspublished at 17:30 British Summer Time

    Sussex v Warwickshire 308-4

A second batting point for the Bears, who are taking a firm grip on proceedings.

Sam Hain is into the 70s, Ed Barnard is eyeing another half-century, but Ollie Robinson is now bowling with the new ball which the hosts took at the first opportunity.

  3. wicket

WICKETpublished at 17:29 British Summer Time

    Elgar c Bairstow b Sutherland 94 (Yorks v Essex 226-3)

And just like buses, two come along at once...

Dean Elgar had battled so hard, but he misses out on a first century of the season, trying to flick Will Sutherland on the leg side and turning it behind for Jonny Bairstow to fling out a glove and make the catch.

The South African departs for 94 and suddenly Essex have two new men at the crease as Matt Critchley comes out to join forces with Jordan Cox.

It's Sutherland's maiden Championship wicket and earns Yorkshire their first bonus point.

  4. 'A lovely innings from Curran'published at 17:29 British Summer Time

    Surrey 306-3 v Durham

You can't criticise anything about that innings because Sam Curran played absolutely beautifully. He's such a talent with the bat.

You could see the way he came off, he knows he has left a huge opportunity out there and as he hit it you can see his head go down.

But he is Sam Curran and that's why we really enjoy watching him bat and play cricket because even with all his experience, he still gets over excited.

What a lovely innings. He's left Surrey in a wonderful position but he's left a few out there today.

  5. wicket

WICKETpublished at 17:25 British Summer Time

    Westley lbw b Coad 107 (Yorks v Essex 222-2)

Relief for Yorkshire as Tom Westley finally departs...

If you can trust any bowler to make good use of the new ball, it's Ben Coad - and the seamer gets one to straighten and strike the Essex captain on the pads.

The umpire's finger is raised and Yorkshire finally have the breakthrough they've been seeking so desperately.

Jordan Cox strides out to join Dean Elgar.

  6. 300 runs

300 partnership for Pearspublished at 17:24 British Summer Time

    Hampshire v Worcs 359-2

For the first time in the match Kyle Abbott gets the ball to beat the edge of the bat, tempting Adam Hose into a waft on 200*, though the ball scoots past the outside of off stump.

James Fuller, who has the only two wickets to fall, takes the ball at the other end and Jake Libby brings up the 300 partnership from 411 balls with a single off his first delivery.

What a day for the visitors.

  7. wicket

WICKETpublished at 17:24 British Summer Time

    Vaughan c Haynes b Abbas 35 (Somerset 250-6 v Notts)

Archie Vaughan is cross with himself. He doesn't get on top of the ball as he tries to force Mo Abbas away through the off-side and Jack Haynes takes the catch at gully.

Vaughan put on 71 with Tom Banton and looked, for the most part, like someone who should be higher up the order - as he used to be.

  8. new ball

New ball taken by Hampshirepublished at 17:21 British Summer Time

    Hampshire v Worcs 358-2

In all the madness Worcestershire have doubled their batting point tally for the season in a day. They have three, and plenty of time to chase the other two on offer too.

Kyle Abbott takes the fresh Australian cherry.

  9. First batting point for Somersetpublished at 17:20 British Summer Time

    Somerset 250-5 v Notts

Tom Banton tucks Mo Abbas round the corner for a single and there is a batting point for Somerset. He is 38 not out.

  10. wicket

WICKETpublished at 17:20 British Summer Time

    Curran c Neesham b Drissell 108 (Surrey 278-3 v Durham)

I've got a hundred, my partner's got a hundred - job done, seems to be the thinking for Sam Curran.

The very next delivery after Dom Sibley's ton, Sam Curran hoists George Drissell high to long on, where Jimmy Neesham takes the catch.

Dan Lawrence is next in for Surrey, following that partnership of 170. The wicket brings Durham their first bonus point of the match - some kind of reward for a tough day's cricket.

  11. 'An exhibition of strokeplay and application'published at 17:20 British Summer Time

    Hampshire v Worcs 358-2

    Simon Hughes
The Analyst on BBC Radio Solent

    Fantastic from Adam Hose.

It really has been an exhibition of strokeplay and application, a real repertoire of shots.

  12. 100 runs

100 for Dom Sibleypublished at 17:17 British Summer Time

    Surrey 278-2 v Durham

Dom Sibley, SurreyImage source, Rex Features

Surrey have a second centurion today as Dom Sibley steers George Drissell away behind square for a single to bring up his ton from 238 balls.

The opener, who is Surrey's leading run-scorer this season, has reached three figures for the third time in 2025.

  13. Division Two updatepublished at 17:16 British Summer Time

Northants have another Kent wicket at Canterbury with Tawanda Muyeye lbw to Liam Guthrie for 58. Daniel Bell-Drummond is 42 not out and the home side are 279-4.

Glamorgan are being held up by James Bracey and Zaman Akhter at Cardiff, where Gloucestershire are now 222-6 in the 84th over.

Leicestershire have a fourth Middlesex wicket, Ryan Higgins falling to Ben Green for nine, but Leus du Plooy is 35 not out and the visitors are 271-4.

Chris Green has progressed to 65 not out for Lancashire, who are 261-7 in the 74th against Derbyshire at Chesterfield.

  14. 200 runs

200 for Adam Hosepublished at 17:15 British Summer Time

    Hampshire v Worcs 358-2

A great day at the office for Adam Hose.

His first double hundred and he's not that far away from doubling his previous best total.

He brings it up with a late cut for a single down to third from his 208th delivery, 24 of which went to the boundary and four of which cleared it.

Hampshire are being ground into the dirt at Southampton, but they can now call on a new ball to try and change their fortunes.

  15. Postpublished at 17:15 British Summer Time

    Hampshire v Worcs 354-2

Hampshire have tried eight bowlers, four of them spinners who have combined for 31 overs in total, and they have no answer to the Worcestershire batters on this placid track.

Adam Hose has cut loose against the old ball, clearing the rope four times, to move into the 190s.

  16. 100 runs

100 for Tom Westleypublished at 17:12 British Summer Time

    Yorks v Essex 206-1

Tom Westley, EssexImage source, Rex Features

That's back to back centuries for Essex captain Tom Westley, turning Ben Coad for a single to bring up three figures from 227 balls.

Westley, who has been at the crease for four and a half hours, backs up his 130 against Hampshire last week.

It's his 31st first-class ton overall and once again the skipper has played a key role in constructing a solid foundation for his side.

  17. Postpublished at 17:12 British Summer Time

    Sussex v Warwickshire 242-4

Sam Hain and Ed Barnard have added a century for this fifth wicket in 23 overs and change... and they are heating up.

Four overs until the new ball. It feels pivotal to Sussex's hopes.

  18. Second century for Sam Curranpublished at 17:09 British Summer Time

    Surrey 261-2 v Durham

    Martin Emmerson
    BBC Radio Newcastle

    Sam CurranImage source, Rex Features

Sam Curran has notched his second century in first-class cricket. His best is 126 in a draw against Kent in 2022.

He's played some lovely shots today, but generally it's been straightforward for him - as it is for most batsmen against the Kookaburra ball.

Yet again it has offered absolutely nothing for the bowlers. As a project and an experiment, it's desperate. It is not a contest when things are as one-sided as this around the country.

The century included 13 fours and a six. He's also put on 156 with Dom Sibley, who has 94. The new ball is due in seven overs but I doubt it will make any difference.

Durham have also had bowler Ben Raine off the field most of the afternon. He seemed to be having trouble with his foot earlier.

  19. 100 runs

for Jake Libbypublished at 17:08 British Summer Time

    Hampshire v Worcs 332-2

What a day for the stand-in Pears skipper.

His biggest contribution might still have been to win the toss, but he's played a superb role with the bat, playing patiently, supporting Kashif Ali and then Adam Hose superbly in this monster third-wicket stand which has reached 270.

He brings up his second century of the season and 19th in first class cricket with a four through the covers off Tom Prest, his eighth in a 219-ball stay.

His side are closing in on a third batting point too, while Hose has his eyes on a maiden double ton as the run rate ticks ever closer to 4.5 an over.

  20. new ball

New ball at Tauntonpublished at 17:06 British Summer Time

    Somerset 243-5 v Notts

Notts are probably glad to get rid of the old one, it's been little use to them since tea.

The new ball is taken as Somerset's Tom Banton finally removes his sweater during a drinks break - and then puts it back on again.

Mohammad Abbas is set to bowl the first over with it.
