  1. wicket

WICKETpublished at 14:31 British Summer Time 2 May

    Cox c Vaughan 26 b Davey (Somerset v Essex 118-4)

A really poor dismissal from today's England call-up Jordan Cox.

A nothing ball and a nothing shot, just misjudging it and chipping straight up to Archie Vaughan at mid on having done the hard work to get this far in his innings.

Maybe it bounced more than he expected.

  2. Postpublished at 14:28 British Summer Time 2 May

    Somerset v Essex 116-3

A great over from Jack Leach sees a massive appeal for lbw turned down, he now has bowled 12 overs with four maidens with just 20 runs conceded.

  3. Postpublished at 14:26 British Summer Time 2 May

    Hants v Durham 119-4

Sonny Baker is handed the ball for the second time today, having sent down just three overs in the morning session.

The young paceman goes for six in the first over of this spell, including a bouncer to Graham Clark that is adjudged a wide by the umpire.

Clark has 18 and has almost caught up partner Ollie Robinson, on 21.

  4. wicket

WICKETpublished at 14:22 British Summer Time 2 May

    Westley b Davey c Overton 20 (Somerset v Essex 115-3)

Back of a length from Josh Davey in a good channel and Tom Westley is perhaps surprised by a bit of bounce, only fending, edging to Craig Overton at second slip.

  5. dropped catch

Dropped catchpublished at 14:19 British Summer Time 2 May

    Yorkshire 124-6 v Warwickshire

Another let-off for Yorkshire. This time for Jordan Thompson.

After creaming Olly Hannon-Dalby through cover-point for four, ODH has got him to follow one quite a bit away from his body.

The left-hander gives the ball a healthy outside edge that's arrowing straight into the hands of Alex Davies at first slip...

...until the leaping Kai Smith dives straight across his captain and can't hang on one-handed.

After taking three catches this morning, Smith will feels like he can catch anything but that was Davies' catch all week long.

  6. 'Bamber has been very reliable'published at 14:16 British Summer Time 2 May

    Yorkshire 120-6 v Warwickshire

    Mike Taylor
    BBC WM commentator

Ethan Bamber has found a very reliable spot since lunch. He got Harry Brook in an unorthodox way but he's putting the ball in the right place.

It's not swinging and seaming miles but it's often trickier when it's just nibbling a little bit.

He's looking like a very handy pick-up. He's a very enthusiastic character and he's got plenty to be enthusiastic about so far.

  7. champagne moment

Champagne momentpublished at 14:16 British Summer Time 2 May

    Somerset v Essex 115-2

    Bat, right foot, right hand.

Sensational skills from international cricketer Jordan Cox, and so nonchalantly done too.

He defends with soft hands into the ground next to him, then does one keepie-uppie before catching and tossing back to bowler Lewis Gregory and cracking on with the game.

  8. Postpublished at 14:13 British Summer Time 2 May

    Somerset v Essex 112-2

Jack Leach has two slips in place, but one stays low and goes through the legs of James Rew for four byes.

  9. 100 runs

100 up for Durhampublished at 14:12 British Summer Time 2 May

    Hants v Durham 102-4

An important landmark reached for Durham as their total rises to three figures - they'd prefer to have a number lower than four in the wickets column, however.

Graham Clark gets his side past 100, glancing Kyle Abbott to long leg for his second boundary, while Ollie Robinson has 15,

Harry Conway celebrates wicketImage source, Getty Images

Northamptonshire's Aussie quick Harry Conway has just picked up his first wicket on debut for the county. The right-armer has dismissed Peter Handscomb to leave Leicestershire 114-4.

Rishi Patel is still there for the Foxes though - the opener has 50.

Josh Bohannon and Marcus Harris have now put on 73 for Lancashire's second wicket. The hosts are 96-2 against Gloucestershire at Old Trafford.

Kent are in all sorts of bother on 91-7 at Lord's. Middlesex captain Toby Roland-Jones has just picked up his fourth wicket.

Glamorgan are well placed against Derbyshire on 131-2 with Sam Northeast and Kiran Carlson at the crease.

  11. Postpublished at 14:10 British Summer Time 2 May

    Yorkshire 120-6 v Warwickshire

Jordan Thompson relieves a bit of the pressure following Yorkshire's poor start to the afternoon.

The left-hander strokes a couple of very pleasant drives through the covers for four. Economy of movement. Not trying to hit it too hard. Lovely.

He's then done outside his off stump by Olly Hannon-Dalby.

    That's the test.

  12. Postpublished at 14:03 British Summer Time 2 May

    Hants v Durham 94-4

Graham Clark is up and running - not that he needs to run, mind you, crunching Brad Wheal through the covers for four.

Wheal is getting the ball to move around, though - one zips away from off stump and stays low on its way through to Ben Brown and the next rears up to leave the wicketkeeper at full stretch.

Durham could do with a partnership here, having struggled to build momentum after winning the toss this morning.

  13. 100 runs

100 up for Essexpublished at 14:01 British Summer Time 2 May

    Somerset v Essex 100-2

David Beckham celebrates his 50th today, Essex have doubled his years in runs in the afternoon sun, and have got to the milestone with four byes miles past the unfortunate James Rew, Lewis Gregory getting a lot of seam movement off just that one ball.

Gregory has also tested out the middle of this green pitch already. Here is how it looked at lunch to keep you updated on its tanning across the course of the match.

    Somerset v Essex 96-2

Talk in the press box has gone onto Kiwi overseas for Somerset over the years as two fine members of the Cricketer magazine team grace us with their presence today and keep daring to mention Matt Henry.

Still no news we keep repeating...he may be here eventually...

In the mean time, Lewis Gregory has bowled nicely in tandem with Jack Leach at Jordan Cox 17* and Tom Westley 19* post lunch.

  15. wicket

WICKETpublished at 13:55 British Summer Time 2 May

    Ackermann c Brown b Wheal 9 (Hants v Durham 82-4)

Brad Wheal will be loving this new ball - it's brought him his first wicket after just four deliveries!

The ball was changed earlier in the over and Wheal sends one down outside off stump, Colin Ackermann takes a swing and the edge flies into Ben Brown's gloves.

Durham in some difficulty now as Graham Clark emerges to join Ollie Robinson in the middle.

  16. wicket

WICKETpublished at 13:54 British Summer Time 2 May

    Hill c Davies b Bamber 0 (Yorkshire 105-6 v Warwickshire)

    Bears are rampant.

It's another regulation dismissal on this pitch. Full of length, moving away, George Hill ledden-footed, edge behind.

After dropping a sitter off Joe Root this morning, Bears captain Alex Davies makes no mistake at first slip with one he barely had to move for.

Four for Bamber. Excellent stuff - exactly what the Bears were hoping for when they signed him from Middlesex.

  17. 100 up for Yorkshirepublished at 13:53 British Summer Time 2 May

    Yorkshire 101-5 v Warwickshire

The loss of Harry Brook may now shift the dial a bit for skipper Jonny Bairstow, who has been happy to play second fiddle to England's new white-ball captain.

And they way Bairstow has pulled the first ball of Olly Hannon-Dalby's first over of the afternoon through mid-wicket to bring up the Tykes ton shows he's changing gear.

He's not finished either, as he contrasts his sledgehammer pull with a subtle rubber-wristed guide to deep third for four more.

  18. Postpublished at 13:47 British Summer Time 2 May

    Hants v Durham 82-3

Liam Dawson continues with the first over after lunch and Durham add two singles to their total, one apiece for Ollie Robinson and Colin Ackermann.

Brad Wheal, who bowled tightly in the morning without a great deal of reward, is on at the other end.

And after just two deliveries from Wheal, umpires Russell Warren and Martin Saggers halt play, ruling that the ball is out of shape!

Out comes the box of alternatives, a fresh cherry is handed to Wheal and we'll continue.

  19. wicket

WICKETpublished at 13:44 British Summer Time 2 May

    Brook c Shaikh b Bamber 33 (Yorkshire 97-4 v Warwickshire)

Harry Brook's gone. Straight after lunch.

Three balls into the afternoon to be precise. It's a shot we've seen a million times from Brook - a back-foot upper cut - but he's lifted it up and over and straight down the throat of Hamza Shaikh at wide deep third off Ethan Bamber.

The Bears would have Brook at the top of their to-do list post-lunch. And they've ticked it off.

A gift from Brook, you have to say.

  20. Postpublished at 13:44 British Summer Time 2 May

    Somerset v Essex 84-2

Jack Leach takes the first over after lunch from the River End, conceding just three off it.
