  1. Division Two updatepublished at 11:25 11 May

Sussex and Jayden Seales have another one against Glamorgan.

The West Indies fast bowler has started brilliantly this morning and is terrorising the home batters.

Mason Crane came in as nightwatchman yesterday and can't deal with the pace, ending up sending the ball skywards off a combination of bat and glove to offer an easy catch.

I've just watched back Seales' opening few overs and not many batters would want to be facing that!

  2. WICKET Miles b Worrall 29published at 11:23 11 May

    Surrey v Warwickshire 343-9

Craig Miles decides to leave one from Dan Worrall.

But rather than the ball go past the stumps, it zooms in and crashes into off-stump.

Well bowled Worrall, and well batted Miles in his partnership with Ed Barnard.

  3. LANCASHIRE ALL OUT FOR 331published at 11:22 11 May

Notts v Lancashire 331 all out

A soft dismissal for Saqib Mahmood on his return to county cricket.

He chips one from Olly Stone straight to Haseeb Hameed at short cover and Notts have wrapped up the Lancashire innings.

Tom Bailey finishes with 31 not out in a useful cameo, while Stone and Dillon Pennington bagged three wickets each.

We will see how the total of 331 looks when Notts bat.

  4. 'Harrison makes difficult catches look easy'published at 11:21 11 May

    Notts v Lancashire 331-9

    Dave Bracegirdle
    BBC Radio Nottingham commentator

Calvin Harrison makes the difficult catches look easy so he was never going to spill that one.

It was as routine as they come.

It was fun while it lasted for Will Williams but it didn't last too long.

  5. Postpublished at 11:19 11 May

    Surrey v Warwickshire 342-8

    Wow!

Jordan Clark is a fraction over-pitched, but Craig Miles gives it the treatment.

Full face of the bat, high left-elbow and the ball flies through the covers for four.

Never mind a number 10, any top-order player would be proud of that one.

  6. 350 up for Glospublished at 11:15 11 May

    Northants v Glos 352-8

A powerful swipe from Marchant de Lange goes for six and brings up a third Gloucestershire batting point.

  7. WICKET Dawson lbw b Raine 35published at 11:13 11 May

    Hampshire 343-5 v Durham

A quick breakthrough on day two from the visitors.

Ben Raine, who has been sharing the bowling with left-arm spinner Callum Parkinson, has Liam Dawson trapped in front.

Dawson is guilty of shuffling across his stumps, trying to work to leg and having nowhere to go.

That ends a partnership of 88 with Tom Prest.

  8. WICKET Williams c Harrison b Stone 5published at 11:12 11 May

    Notts v Lancashire 317-9

    Olly StoneImage source, Rex Features

Will Williams can hang around, but not this morning.

Olly Stone puts it in the right spot and Williams obliges, steering straight to the midriff of second slip.

That was little more than early morning catching practise for Calvin Harrison.

  9. WICKET: Root b Seales 5published at 11:09 11 May

    Glamorgan 25-2 v Sussex 278

We had to wait half-an-hour for the first wicket yesterday but it's taken less than ten minutes today!

Jayden Seales with a beauty to dismiss Billy Root.

That pitched way outside the line but came back an absolute mile to clatter the stumps and send the bails flying!

Root left it thinking it was going harmlessly behind.

    Not so.

  10. 100 for Ed Barnardpublished at 11:08 11 May

    Surrey v Warwickshire 331-8

    Ed BarnardImage source, Rex Features

    There it is!

Ed Barnard gets one on his legs that he tucks away for a couple to grab his sixth first-class century.

More importantly, it is his first in Warwickshire colours and it has come at a crucial juncture after they were 167-6 for yesterday.

It has come off 164 balls with nine fours and it is a very fine knock.

  11. 'It's really evenly balanced'published at 11:06 11 May

    Notts v Lancashire 307-8

    Scott Read
    BBC Radio Lancashire

It was a really enjoyable first day yesterday and we'll see what day two has in store.

I think it's really evenly balanced. That final hour for Nottinghamshire with the new ball last night worked a treat for them.

  12. Wallop!published at 11:04 11 May

    Surrey v Warwickshire 326-8

Jordan Clark to bowl the first over.

And the definition of a loosener as he spears one down legside and past Ben Foakes. It's given as four byes but that could easily have been four wides!

And the first runs of the bat as Clark is short and wide and Craig Miles crunches it off the back foot for a boundary.

There was a bit of meat in that one from the number 10!

  13. Play under waypublished at 11:00 11 May

The bells have been sounded around the country.

The bails are on, the field has been set and batters are taking guard.

    Day two is under way.

  14. Division Two previewpublished at 10:59 11 May

Unbeaten Division Two leaders Sussex were given a big scare by Glamorgan on day one as Mir Hamza and James Harris ran riot with the ball, taking four wickets each.

Sussex were looking unlikely to even reach 200 when their seventh wicket went down for only 140 but the tail wagged and Ari Karvelas' unbeaten 39 helped them reach 278 all out.

Glamorgan had to face six overs at the end of the day and lost Eddie Byrom in the second of them, leaving Billy Root and Mason Crane at the crease.

In the second of the two Division Two matches, Miles Hammond scored a fine century, adding to Cameron Bancroft's 53, to ensure Gloucestershire enjoyed a solid opening day at Northampton.

India international Siddarth Kaul meanwhile made an immediate impact on his Northamptonshire debut, taking 4-58 in 23 testing overs, including three in the afternoon session.

He'll be looking to take a five-fer no doubt with the hosts wanting to wrap up the Glos innings asap this morning.

  15. Barnard holds up the Championspublished at 10:58 11 May

    Surrey v Warwickshire 318-8

    Ed BarnardImage source, Rex Features

Win the toss, bowl first has been the Surrey mantra with captain Rory Burns.

When Warwickshire slumped to 167-6 yesterday afternoon, it was all working perfectly.

But a brilliant 96 not out from Ed Barnard with excellent support from eight, nine and 10 has given the Bears something to work with when they eventually bowl.

However, it's a lovely sunny day and that usually makes The Oval a great place to bat. Surrey's long list may be licking their lips.

  16. Orr's knock provides platform for Hantspublished at 10:57 11 May

    Hampshire 336-4 v Durham

    Ali OrrImage source, Getty Images

Ali Orr will be feeling a whole lot better about himself this morning after his first century in Hampshire colours.

After 59 runs in six previous innings, 126 was very welcome for the former Sussex opener.

It has provided a platform for Hants to post a huge first innings score with Tom Prest and Liam Dawson well set overnight.

Durham have work to do this morning, but one to thing to note is that the two previous games at Utilita Bowl this season finished in bore draws with wickets hard to come by.

We'll find out today if we are heading for a similar outcome.

  17. Honours even at Trent Bridgepublished at 10:54 11 May

    Notts v Lancashire 306-8

    Tom BruceImage source, Rex Features

An excellent first day's cricket at Trent Bridge has both sides searching for supremacy.

At 190-2 with captain Keaton Jennings flying on 91 not out, it was definitely Lancashire.

But his wicket, caught reverse sweeping, precipitated a Notts fightback with a new-ball burst from Dillon Pennington knocking the visitors from 273-4 to 289-7.

They staggered past 300 but the wicket of Tom Bruce for 73 in the penultimate over may have shifted the balance towards the home team.

Take the last two wickets quickly and bat big will be their plan for today. Lancashire, of course, will have other ideas.

  18. Roderick puts Pears on top on emotional daypublished at 10:52 11 May

    Kent v Worcs 308-5

    Gareth RoderickImage source, Getty Images

Gareth Roderick's century put Worcestershire in control on day one against Kent at Canterbury as the Pears marked the sad passing of young team-mate Josh Baker.

Opener Roderick hit 117 from 281 balls as the visitors reached 308-5 at stumps, supplemented by 72 from former Kent second XI player Kashif Ali, with Adam Hose unbeaten on 50.

England leg-spinner Matt Parkinson took 2-79 but Kent struggled to make anything happen on a benign wicket until Joey Evison claimed two late wickets.

The day began in sombre fashion, with an emotive minute's applause for Worcestershire spinner Baker, who died last week at the age of just 20.

Both teams wore black armbands and the flags flew at half-mast over the Frank Woolley Stand - and all the Pears player wore their shirts wearing Baker's old number 33.
