  1. Postpublished at 14:19 British Summer Time 11 May 2024

    Kent v Worcs 461-7

Jason Holder is approaching a half-century and his partnership with Matthew Waite is now worth more than 70 as Kent's bowlers struggle to find a way through.

The Pears do go deep with their batting. Holder, we know how well he can bat, but Waite and Nathan Smith are both very handy too.

Smith is next man in and he has two half-centuries to his name this season, Waite has one and looks good for a second here.

  2. wicket

WICKET Burns c Barnard b Rhodes 40published at 14:17 British Summer Time 11 May 2024

    Surrey 88-1 v Warwickshire 343

    The first wicket for Warwickshire!

Rory Burns maybe fancies cutting loose a touch, but when Will Rhodes offers a bit of width, he slaps it straight to backward point.

Burns is gone, but he and Dom Sibley have laid another good platform for Surrey.

  3. 100 up for Nottspublished at 14:16 British Summer Time 11 May 2024

    Notts 100-2 v Lancashire 331

Joe Clarke helps himself to a couple off George Balderson and that brings up the team's three figures.

Notts have been going nicely since lunch.

  4. Postpublished at 14:13 British Summer Time 11 May 2024

    Notts 97-2 v Lancashire 331

That is a lovely shot from Haseeb Hameed.

A bit full and legside-ish from George Balderson, but you have to love how Hameed wristily whips it away for four.

The Notts skipper is closing in on 50.

  5. OHD on the moneypublished at 14:06 British Summer Time 11 May 2024

    Surrey 77-0 v Warwickshire 343

    A word for Ollie Hannonb-Dalby.

He runs in for his 10th over and is accuracy personified with six dots to Rory Burns.

    His figures currently read 10-5-8-0.

No wickets obviously, but he is showing why he is still a fine county operator.

  6. 50 runs

50 for Kiran Carlsonpublished at 14:02 British Summer Time 11 May 2024

    Glamorgan 149-4 v Sussex 278

Kiran Carlson reaches a half-century from 89 balls, with eight fours included.

Colin Ingram is on 62 at the other end.

Their partnership is worth over 100 now and it's worth pointing out again how important this is for Glamorgan who were 41-4 at one point.

  7. 50 runs

50 for Ben Brownpublished at 14:01 British Summer Time 11 May 2024

    Hampshire 442-6 v Durham

A first haff-century of the summer for Ben Brown.

He steers one into the offside off Callum Parkinson to reach the landmark off 95 balls.

Hampshire well on course for 500 here.

  8. 'Dropped catches a problem for Bears'published at 13:56 British Summer Time 11 May 2024

    Surrey 75-0 v Warwickshire 343

    Melinda Farrell
Sports broadcaster/journalist on BBC Coventry & Warwickhire

Dropped catches has actually been a bit of a problem this season.

You would say that they have come frequently enough to make you think - gosh what is going on there?

They have come at times in matches where wickets have been hard to come by and chances have not been that frequent.

So just being able to capitalise when there is a chance is just not something that they've always been able to do.

Playing against Surrey they certainly need to make the most of every opportunity.

  9. dropped catch

Dropped catchpublished at 13:53 British Summer Time 11 May 2024

    Hampshire 435-6 v Durham

Callum Parkinson should have a fourth wicket in this innings, but he drops a catch off his own bowling.

Felix Organ sends it back to him, but Parkinson juggles it and can't hang on.

Durham's toils in the field continue.

  10. Second spell for Saqibpublished at 13:50 British Summer Time 11 May 2024

    Notts 77-2 v Lancashire 331

Saqib Mahmood bowled five overs with the new ball before lunch.

Now he is back for a second spell, but the first delivery is loose and a bit short and Haseeb Hameed sends it to the midwicket fence.

And the fifth ball is also sent to the ropes, this time just backward of square on the offside.

This will be a good test for Mahmood's stamina.

  11. Postpublished at 13:49 British Summer Time 11 May 2024

    Northants 60-3 v Glos 409

And it's.... well dealt with by new batter George Bartlett.

No hat-trick for Marchant de Lange but the big man has made a big impact while Northants were still letting their lunch go down.

Vasconcelos had looked really good before the interval but didn't last long afterwards, departing for 43.

Marchant de Lange strikes with the second and third balls after lunch to dismiss Ricardo Vasconcelos and Karun Nair.

    Hat-trick ball incoming...

  13. Great weather for cricket at all agespublished at 13:44 British Summer Time 11 May 2024

    Surrey 68-0 v Warwickshire 343

People on pitch at Kia OvalImage source, Rex Features

There was the lovely sight of hundreds of spectators on the outfield during the lunch break at The Kia Oval.

Like we keep saying, it really is great weather for cricket.

It was the same last night for my six-year-old at his All Stars session.

Run by the ECB, it's a great scheme to get youngsters into this great game.

  14. Afternoon sessionpublished at 13:40 British Summer Time 11 May 2024

    #bbccricket

Not a single break in play across the four sessions so far this week. Wonderful!

Away we go with the afternoon session in our six games.

  15. 'Thoroughly entertaining morning'published at 13:28 British Summer Time 11 May 2024

    Glamorgan 136-4 v Sussex 278

    Adrian Harms
    BBC Sussex

A thoroughly entertaining morning's cricket with Glamorgan fighting back having at one stage been 41-4

Colin Ingram and Kiran Carlson have added 95 for the the fourth wicket with Ingram in particular punishing anything overpitched, or short

Earlier, we were treated to a magnificent spell of genuinely quick bowling from Jayden Seales, who took all three wickets to fall this morning.

Jack Carson hasn’t been on the field today with a lower back issue, and Sussex will be hoping that’s not too serious with matches in the next two weeks against Yorkshire and Middlesex

  17. Lunch at Utilita Bowlpublished at 13:09 British Summer Time 11 May 2024

    Hampshire 420-6 v Durham

The highlight of the morning session was undoubtedly a second first-class ton for Tom Prest.

But with only 84 runs added from 31 overs, Durham have battled to keep Hampshire in check.

Will the game quicken its pace up after the break?

  18. Lunch at Northamptonpublished at 13:06 British Summer Time 11 May 2024

    Northants 56-1 v Glos 409

Glos added some quick runs this morning to take their total over 400 but it was Northants bowler Siddarth Kaul who has taken the starring role with a five-wicket haul on his debut.

The hosts lost opener Emilio Gay first ball but Ricardo Vasconcelos has looked in good form, he's got 43 from 44 balls.

  19. Lunch at Trent Bridgepublished at 13:06 British Summer Time 11 May 2024

    Notts 64-2 v Lancashire 331

Four sessions gone and we are still none the wiser as to who is in the better position.

Lancashire added 25 for their last two wickets, while a wicket apiece for Saqib Mahmood and Will Williams will be well received.

Notts will look to captain Haseeb Hameed and form batter Joe Clarke for big contributions after lunch.

  20. Lunch at Sophia Gardenspublished at 13:06 British Summer Time 11 May 2024

    Glamorgan 136-4 v Sussex 278

Colin Ingram and Kiran Carlson's rebuilding partnership has been a godsend for Glamorgan who lost three wickets for 16 runs earlier today.

Jayden Seales was on fire for Sussex and took all three wickets - Root, Crane and Northeast - in a devastating spell of fast bowling to leave them 41-4 not long after we started.
