    Kent v Worcs 424-7

The Pears have added 116 runs for the loss of two wickets this morning.

Adam Hose made 90 and Rob Jones 37.

Joey Evison and Matt Parkinson have three wickets each.

  2. 'Second day following similar pattern to opening day'published at 13:04 British Summer Time 11 May

    Notts 62-2 v Lancashire 331

    Dave Bracegirdle
    BBC Radio Nottingham commentator

It was a mistake to leave it from Will Young.

The second day is following a sort of similar pattern to the opening day.

Nottinghamshire's hopes of getting a big score may lie with Haseeb Hameed and Joe Clarke.

  3. Lunch at the Kia Ovalpublished at 13:04 British Summer Time 11 May

    Surrey 65-0 v Warwickshire 343

A glorious piece of fielding from Sam Hain prevents Rory Burns from adding four more to the total from the last ball of the session.

But Surrey head to lunch in a very strong position, even more so after Burns was dropped by Will Rhodes off Craig Miles.

Warwickshire's bowlers will need some inspiration this afternoon to hold back the home batting.

  4. Postpublished at 12:57 British Summer Time 11 May

    Surrey 59-0 v Warwickshire 343

The best shot of the Surrey innings brings up a half-century stand for the Surrey openers.

Rory Burns with a lovely drive through the covers off Ed Barnard for four.

And then he guides one past the slips to a vacant third man for back-to-back boundaries.

Then three off the next ball as Barnard compensates with a ball on leg-stump.

Burns now has 31 and Dom Sibley is on 17.

  5. Prest impresses with plenty of runs to be hadpublished at 12:55 British Summer Time 11 May

    Hampshire 416-6 v Durham

    Martin Emmerson
    BBC Radio Newcastle

There are plenty of runs to be had here and we have just seen the second century of the Hampshire innings.

Following Ali Orr's 126 yesterday, Tom Prest has reached three figures today. The knock included 14 fours and two sixes.

His previous hundred came in September, when he made 108 against Essex. That looked easily beatable today, but moments after reaching his century he was out.

There was major delight for Brydon Carse as he got his first wicket of the season with Prest pushing a ball to Colin Ackermann at first slip when on 102.

Hampshire are in no hurry and continue to pootle along at less than 3.5 runs an over but they are building a decent lead.

  6. wicket

WICKET Young b Williams 27published at 12:53 British Summer Time 11 May

    Notts 59-2 v Lancashire 331

    Will WilliamsImage source, Rex Features

    Well bowled Will Williams!

Leaving balls from him is always a risk as he is unerringly accurate but Will Young falls into that trap.

The New Zealand batter can only watch as it moves in a touch and disturbs the stumps.

  7. 50 runs

50 for Colin Ingrampublished at 12:52 British Summer Time 11 May

    Glamorgan 125-4 v Sussex 278

Colin Ingram moves past 50 as Glamorgan keep their rebuilding job going nicely.

The South African is closing in on team-mate and skipper Sam Northeast as the Division Two top run scorer.

  8. wicket

WICKET Prest c Ackermann b Carse 102published at 12:50 British Summer Time 11 May

    Hampshire 415-6 v Durham

And just two balls after reaching his hundred, Tom Prest is heading back to the dressing room.

He will be disappointed with the manner of it as he guides one into the hands of Colin Ackermann in a wide first slip position.

Relief for Brydon Carse though, as he claims his first wicket of the summer.

  9. wicket

    WICKET: Jones c Bell-Drummond b Parkinson 37published at 12:49 British Summer Time 11 May

    Kent v Worcs 394-7

Rob Jones comes down the track to try to hoist Matt Parkinson's ball into the stand but only ends up sending it softly into the hands of Daniel Bell-Drummond at slip.

A couple of quick departures for the Pears as they approach 400 and Parkinson has a third wicket.

  10. 100 runs

100 for Tom Prestpublished at 12:47 British Summer Time 11 May

    Hampshire 415-5 v Durham

A lovely cut shot from Tom Prest off Brydon Carse takes him to three figures.

It's a second first-class century for the 21-year-old and Hampshire have very high hopes for this young batter.

This knock has come off 160 balls with 13 fours and two sixes.

  11. 'Hose has played a really pivotal role'published at 12:41 British Summer Time 11 May

    Kent v Worcs 388-6

    Ben Watts
    BBC Radio Kent

A really fine knock from Adam Hose for his team.

I think that final batting point for Worcestershire is Adam Hose's because he managed to help them up the tempo in this game last night and has then negotiated an hour and 25 minutes this morning and really held this middle order together.

Gareth Roderick made a really good partnership with him as the day went on yesterday and then a fine stand of Rob Jones to kick-off day two here.

Adam Hose has played a really pivotal role, his best-ever score now for Worcestershire.

It's a real shame that he hasn't got his 100 because I think he certainly would have deserved it.

But credit again to Joey Evison because quite a few of the most senior Kent bowlers have struggled to look like a wicket threat on this pitch.

  12. Postpublished at 12:38 British Summer Time 11 May

    Surrey 35-0 v Warwickshire 343

A lovely ball from Ed Barnard as he gets one past the edge of Dom Sibley's bat.

The slips are hopeful of a nick, but the bowler tellingly is not.

Warwickshire would love a wicket before lunch.

  13. Will Jimmy play any more county cricket?published at 12:33 British Summer Time 11 May

    #bbccricket

Jimmy Anderson's statement mentions the Lord's Test against West Indies on 10 July.

But there is no mention of county cricket with Lancashire.

There are matches against Kent (23 June, Canterbury) and Nottinghamshire (30 June, Southport) that he may want to play ahead of his Test farewell.

If he wants to play at Old Trafford, he would have to play in the Championship game against Warwickshire, beginning on 24 May.

  14. 'A hugely entertaining opening hour in Cardiff'published at 12:30 British Summer Time 11 May

    Glamorgan 90-4 v Sussex 278

    Adrian Harms
    BBC Sussex

    Sophia GardensImage source, Adrian Harms

A hugely entertaining opening hour in Cardiff with Jayden Seales roaring in to bowl and taking three early wickets including that of the country’s leading run scorer Sam Northeast.

Seales is genuinely quick and could be a real handful for the England batters this summer.

However since that early burst of wickets Glamorgan have fought back largely through the efforts Colin Ingram with a number of sumptuous cover drives.

  15. 400 up for Hampshirepublished at 12:28 British Summer Time 11 May

    Hampshire 406-5 v Durham

Tom Prest pushes one out into the covers off Brydon Carse and that brings up the Hampshire 400.

It is in the 118th over.

Prest is now nine away from a century.

  16. wicket

WICKET: Hose lbw Evison 90published at 12:26 British Summer Time 11 May

    Kent v Worcs 381-6

A first wicket of the day for Kent as Joey Evison traps Adam Hose lbw just ten runs short of a century.

It beats the bat and hits Hose's back leg right in front of the stumps.

That's Evison's third strike of the innings and it bring Jason Holder to the fold.

  17. dropped catch

Dropped catchpublished at 12:25 British Summer Time 11 May

    Notts 47-1 v Lancashire 331

Will Williams comes into the attack and he should have a wicket as Will Young edges it straight to Tom Bruce at second slip.

That is a regulation catch but it goes in and out of the bread basket.

And the next ball, Young drives it for four. How often do we see that?

  18. Anderson to retire after first Testpublished at 12:23 British Summer Time 11 May
    Breaking

    #bbccricket

England's all-time leading Test wicket-taker Jimmy Anderson has posted on Instagram that this summer's first Test against the West Indies will be his final one.

The match begins at Lord's on 10 July. It will be his 188th and final Test as he tries to add to his 700 wickets.

You can read more about the story here.

  19. Postpublished at 12:22 British Summer Time 11 May

    Surrey 22-0 v Warwickshire 343

Very tight stuff from the Warwickshire bowlers.

Very watchful stuff from the Surrey batters.

Until Aamer Jamal bowls the widest wide imaginable in an attempt to bowl a short ball that flies over where leg slip would have been.

  20. Division Two updatepublished at 12:20 British Summer Time 11 May

Northants have started their reply against Glos and a fair bit has happened in 1.1 overs.

Ricardo Vasconcelos hit the first ball of the innings for six, adding 12 runs himself in the first over.

But in contrast fellow opener Emilio Gay was out first ball to Josh Shaw with the opening delivery of the second over.

In Cardiff, Colin Ingram (30) and Kiran Carlson (22) are providing a much-needed partnership for Glamorgan after Sussex had them reeling on 41-4 earlier.

    The hosts are currently 89-4.
