  1. Postpublished at 11:34 British Summer Time 20 May

    Somerset 554 v Kent 178 & 441-5 f/o - lead by 65

That's not the first time Migael Pretorius has been frustrated this morning.

Joe Denly is forward, edging to third slip but fortunately for him and for Kent the ball doesn't carry.

It also evades the slips and runs away for four.

Denly gets a single off the fourth and Harry Finch gets two driven into the off side.

A change of bowling at the Marcus Trescothick Pavilion End.

Somerset skipper Lewis Gregory is coming on.

  2. Lancashire's Mahmood injuredpublished at 11:33 British Summer Time 20 May

    Lancashire v Durham 176-3 (target 475)

Saqib Mahmood pulled up a couple of times during his third over of the day, so Lancashire have wisely withdrawn the seamer from their attack for the time being and he's off the field now.

Instead, they've switched to spin in the form of the wily Nathan Lyon - but Durham continue to add runs to the total and they've now lowered the target to just below 300.

David Bedingham has 46 and Ollie Robinson has advanced to 40.

  3. Postpublished at 11:29 British Summer Time 20 May

    Notts v Hants 112-5 (target 169)

Steady batting from this sixth wicket pair, who get forward to Dane Paterson and push the ball away safely for a single apiece.

Dillon Pennington has been replaced at the other end by Olly Stone.

His fourth ball is slightly full and driven into the off side by James Fuller for one.

Fletcha Middleton advances to 44 by scooping a shorter ball to leg for one more.

One more run to Fuller, forward and pushing into the off side.

Hampshire add four more runs without taking risks and Notts need a wicket.

  4. 'Bears will hope new ball is a magic one'published at 11:27 British Summer Time 20 May

    Essex 247-4 (target 330) v Warwickshire

    Glenn Speller
    BBC Essex sport

Here it comes, the new ball is taken by Warwickshire and they will hope it is a magic one as they seek these six wickets.

There has been no trouble at all for Cox or Critchley so far and no encouragement for the bowlers.

This has been a perfect game of County Cricket with plenty of ebb and flow and we have got to the final morning.

  5. Postpublished at 11:25 British Summer Time 20 May

    Somerset 554 v Kent 178 & 431-5 f/o - lead by 55

Too leg side from Craig Overton and Harry Finch turns the ball away square for four.

    That's the 50 lead.

Joe Denly gets a single off Migael Pretorius at the other end.

Still four slips. Finch is nearly castled by a ball that keeps low and jabs the bat down to block at the last moment.

Finch plays a short ball round the corner for one.

  6. Division Two latestpublished at 11:25 British Summer Time 20 May

Northants opener Emilio Gay got the 11 runs needed to bring up his second century of the season and now it's all out attack.

He's added 47 runs so far this morning with Karun Nair (55 not out) to move to 242-2 and a lead of 302 over Derbyshire.

Gloucestershire have just picked up the first of 10 Leicestershire wickets they need - Josh Shaw removed Marcus Harris, caught behind. The Foxes are 38-1 and still 293 in arrears.

Glamorgan's lower order are adding some useful runs against Middlesex. They're 320-7 and leading by 160. An advantage north of 200 will surely be the target for the hosts in Cardiff.

  7. 'Kent would have to bat for a long time'published at 11:24 British Summer Time 20 May

    Somerset 554 v Kent 178 & 429-5 f/o - lead by 53

    Ian Randall
    BBC Radio Kent

It's very hard to tell to see how this morning is going to go.

The optimistic Somerset supporter would say we'll knock these over in an hour and a half and we'll have to chase 120.

The optimistic Kent supporter would say can we bat all day to save the game and I think they've got to get very close to doing that. There isn't much of a window where Somerset would not chase whatever they might be left to.

If Kent could get to tea - lets say even of they were nine down. The thought of Somerset chasing - being optimistic 220 in 30 overs, they'd certainly have a dart at that.

So Kent would have to bat for a long time.

The first session is key, the first hour in particular and I think if Kent want to have a chance of saving the match then they've got to get to lunch no more than one wicket down from where they are at the moment.

  8. new ball

Bears take new ballpublished at 11:21 British Summer Time 20 May

    Essex 245-4 (target 330) v Warwickshire

It's not quite the last throw of the dice yet, but Warwickshire badly need this new cherry to prove fruitful.

Jordan Cox and Matt Critchley are looking comfortable at the moment as they chip away at the target, with just 85 more runs needed.

Cox has 86 and Critchley 58 as Olly Hannon-Dalby prepares to deliver that new ball for the first time.

  9. Postpublished at 11:21 British Summer Time 20 May

    Notts v Hants 106-5 (target 169)

    Shot!

James Fuller gets a bit of room outside off stump and crashes Dillon Pennington through cover for four.

That's the Hampshire 100 in the 36th over.

A Pennington no ball is followed by a single pushed by Fuller into the on side.

Fletcha Middleton leaves outside off stump.

    63 more runs required.

  10. Postpublished at 11:17 British Summer Time 20 May

    Somerset 554 v Kent 178 & 424-5 f/o - lead by 48

This is a good over from Migael Pretorius, getting the ball to bounce and move away on a good length outside off stump.

Harry Finch gets away with a single pushed safely into the off side.

    Two runs off the over.

  11. Postpublished at 11:16 British Summer Time 20 May

    Notts v Hants 99-5 (target 169)

Fletcha Middleton battingImage source, Rex Features

Four runs to Fletcha Middleton driving Dillon Pennington down the ground.

That brings up the 50 partnership for the sixth wicket in 62 balls.

Middleton is beaten by a ball that keeps low outside off bowled by Dane Paterson at the other end.

    Maiden over.

  12. Postpublished at 11:12 British Summer Time 20 May

    Lancashire v Durham 154-3 (target 475)

Durham certainly haven't begun the day in survival mode - they've collected 20 runs from the first three overs.

David Bedingham has punched two boundaries from Tom Aspinwall, while Ollie Robinson pulled Saqib Mahmood for six.

Still a long way to that target, though - another 321 required.

  13. Postpublished at 11:11 British Summer Time 20 May

    Somerset 554 v Kent 178 & 418-5 f/o - lead by 42

Just the one run from Craig Overton's over.

The bowler is no doubt still cross about that miss when he was in the slips in the Pretorius over.

Joe Denly picks up four runs off Migael Pretorius, stroking the ball to long off.

  14. 50 for Matt Critchleypublished at 11:10 British Summer Time 20 May

    Essex 233-4 (target 330) v Warwickshire

Matt Critchley (Essex)Image source, Rex Features

Matt Critchley drives Ed Barnard to the long-off boundary and that's his half-century, the first time he's posted that landmark in his last six innings.

Critchley gets there from 122 balls and what a crucial knock this could prove to be for Essex today. The shot also brings their target below 100.

  15. 'Arrival of new ball will be telling point'published at 11:10 British Summer Time 20 May

    Essex 226-4 (target 330) v Warwickshire

    Isabelle Duncan
    On BBC Essex

The telling point will be the new ball, we're six overs away from that new ball and see what it does.

It tends to do more in the mornings when it's more damp.

It does look like good batting weather, there's not a cloud in the sky, the sun is beating down on a yellow track which has been that colour all the way through this game, not a hint of green on it.

You'd expect runs but let's see what this new ball does, that will be the exciting moment when Warwickshire take that because they've been flogging away as bowlers not really getting anywhere.

  16. Postpublished at 11:09 British Summer Time 20 May

    Notts v Hants 92-5 (target 169)

A fuller ball from Dane Paterson and James Fuller shapes to drive through cover.

The ball doesn't go where intended but dribbles off the toe end through third man for four.

    They all count.

  17. dropped catch

Finch dropped on 0published at 11:04 British Summer Time 20 May

    Somerset 554 v Kent 178 & 413-5 f/o - lead by 37

A sharp chance but certainly a chance two balls into the day.

Harry Finch aims a flashing drive at Migael Pretorius while stuck in the crease and the ball flies through the hands of Craig Overton at second slip.

How are your nerves now, Kent fans?

  18. Postpublished at 11:04 British Summer Time 20 May

    Notts v Hants 86-5 (target 169)

Good first over from Dillon Pennington, forcing Fletcha Middleton to dig out a yorker.

Two runs pushed into mid on.

James Fuller will face Dane Paterson.

  19. 'We're set for a brilliant fourth and final day'published at 11:02 British Summer Time 20 May

    Lancashire v Durham 140-3 (target 475)

    Scott Read
    BBC Radio Lancashire

It's been a really good three days. Blackpool Cricket Club have been terrific to host this four-day County Championship fixture.

We're set for a brilliant fourth and final day, drama late on potentially, we could see some twists and turns on this last day.

  20. Final Day Begins at Tauntonpublished at 11:01 British Summer Time 20 May

    Somerset 554 v Kent 178 & 409-5 f/o - lead by 33

The cold hard numbers state that Kent have only a slender lead despite a brilliant double century from Zak Crawley yesterday.

Somerset will take heart from the four wickets they took in the final session of play, two of which fell to Jack Leach.

This is Leach's first game at first class level since his injury in India last winter and he's bowled 26 overs in this innings, mercifully with no clear signs of discomfort.

Migael Pretorius took the wicket of night watchman Nathan Gilchrist in the final over before stumps last night and has two deliveries left to bowl.

Harry Finch is the new batter and he'll face Pretorius. Four slips in.

Joe Denly is eight not out at the other end.
