  1. Play resumes at Chelmsfordpublished at 13:14 BST 26 September

    Essex 393-7 v Somerset 433

Two balls left in the over for Craig Overton who dispatched Michael Pepper just before the break. He now has 5-79.

Doug Bracewell is on strike to face the first ball of his innings.

Noah Thain is at the non-striker's end on two not out.

  2. Afternoon session begins at Trent Bridgepublished at 13:13 BST 26 September

    Notts 374 v Warwicks 258 & 79-4

Zen Malik will face Dillon Pennington on 20 not out.

A little grey and chilly at Trent Bridge but yesterday's events will warm the hearts of the home supporters.

Sam Hain has 40. The pair battled through tough conditions this morning and it is now highly likely that Notts will have to bat again.

  3. As it standspublished at 13:04 BST 26 September

    Yorks 375-7 v Durham 346

So that is 110 overs done and Durham have failed to add to their bowling points and finish with four while Yorks bag six.

A draw would give Durham 152 and a defeat 144 so with Hants taking three bowling points in their match against Surrey taking them to 145 they need either to draw (unlikely) win (possible) or if not hope Durham lose.

  4. Back under way at Headingleypublished at 12:51 BST 26 September

    Yorks 365-7 (lead by 19 runs) v Durham 346

Jordan Thompson will take the first ball from Matthew Potts in the afternoon session in this relegation scrap.

  5. Overton makes up for drops with five wicketspublished at 12:49 BST 26 September

    Essex 393-7 v Somerset 433 - Essex trail by 40 runs

    Anthony Gibson
    BBC Radio Somerset

Somerset' s morning, as they picked up five wickets, and could easily have had a couple more as three catches were put down in the slips.

Craig Overton was the culprit for two of those drops, but he more than made up for it by taking his second five-for of the season, the ball with which he ripped out Charlie Allison's middle stump being an absolute trimmer.

  6. 'Sighs of relief' as Essex inch towards safetypublished at 12:45 BST 26 September

    Essex 393-7 v Somerset 433 - Essex trail by 40 runs

    Victoria Polley
    BBC Essex Sports Editor

It’s definitely been Somerset’s morning, taking five wickets, but there was a sigh of relief around Chelmsford when Essex passed 350 runs and secured a third batting bonus point.

They’re inching closer to that 400 mark which would ease everyone’s nerves further but losing Michael Pepper before lunch was a blow.

  8. Lunch at Sophia Gardenspublished at 12:40 BST 26 September

    Glamorgan 265 & 118-4 v Lancashire 374

Zain ul Hassan looked to be making his way slowly to a half-century but got out reverse sweeping just before the interval with a shot he is surely regretting over his lunch.

Kiran Carlson and Colin Ingram will resume their early partnership after the break.

  9. Lunch at Wantage Roadpublished at 12:39 BST 26 September

    Northants 189 v Leics 429 & 207-5

Leicestershire go into lunch with a huge lead of 447 runs.

    A 500-plus target surely beckons.

Jonny Tattersall will resume on 21 not out with Ben Cox on five.

  10. Lunch at Lord'spublished at 12:38 BST 26 September

    Middlesex 634-9 dec v Glos 217-6

James Bracey has held the innings together for Glos. He is on 58 not out and has passed 1,000 runs for the season.

For Middlesex, Noah Cornwell has taken the last two Glos wickets to fall and has 3-49 from his 13 overs.

  11. Wicket and lunch at Chelmsford as Overton takes fivepublished at 12:37 BST 26 September

    Essex 393-7 v Somerset 433

Michael Pepper departs four balls into the Craig Overton over, leaving the bowler with figures of 22.4-3-79-5.

He's beaten on the drive and pinned on the crease LBW.

Essex are 40 behind and seven shy of a fourth batting bonus point.

  12. Lunch at Canterburypublished at 12:36 BST 26 September

    Kent 217-5 v Derbyshire 698-6 dec

Ben Dawkins made it to 61 and Ekansh Singh is battling away on 56 not out for Kent at lunch.

Jack Morley has been the star turn for Derbyshire, taking 4-74 from 17 overs.

  13. Lunch at Trent Bridgepublished at 12:34 BST 26 September

    Notts 374 v Warwicks 258 & 79-4

Sam Hain paddles Lyndon James to long leg for one to move to 40.

This has been a decent session for Warwickshire, losing just the one wicket for 70 sine we resumed this morning.

Zen Malik turns the ball to leg to bring up the 50 partnership with Hain and that's lunch.

Warwickshire remain 38 in arrears but have battled hard to stay in the game.

  14. Lunch at Southamptonpublished at 12:33 BST 26 September

    Hants 1-0 Target: 181

No damage done and one chipped off the target for Hants as Ali Orr and Fletcha Middleton walk off for lunch.

This is going to be a tense middle session and the hosts have been given a little taster in that first over with Matthew Fisher beating Orr all ends up.

The cordon went up for a catch behind but it appeared to flick his back pad. Still, not a delivery to make your lunch go down any better if you are in the Hants top order.

  15. wicket

WICKETpublished at 12:31 BST 26 September

    Patel LBW b Zaib 76 (Northants 189 v Leics 429 & 202-5)

Leicestershire pass 200 in the 56th over via a glance to leg by Rishi Patel off Nirvan Ramesh.

But the Leicestershire opener departs one over later.

Saif Zaib draws him forward to defend and gets an edge through to captain-keeper Lewis McManus.

    Ben Cox to bat next.

  16. 'Enormous credit to Worcestershire'published at 12:29 BST 26 September

    Worcs 123 & 287 v Sussex 350 & 63-7 - Sussex win by three wickets

    Adrian Harms
    BBC Sussex

Handshakes all around but we have to give an enormous amount of credit to Worcestershire for really making it a terrific game of cricket.

It's Sussex's fourth win of the season but that was a dramatic game.

Those that have turned up today have really seen a super couple of hours of cricket to finish off the season.

  17. Hants chase under waypublished at 12:28 BST 26 September

    Hants 0-0 Target: 181

One over from Matthew Fisher for Hants to get through before lunch with the target set at 181.

    Ali Orr is on strike.

  18. Postpublished at 12:27 BST 26 September

    Notts 374 v Warwicks 258 & 77-4

Big LBW shout from Brett Hutton, striking Sam Hain on the pad as he plays across the line.

Did he hit that? It's ruled not out. A tad high. Close though.

The second ball is cut to cover. The innings gap dips below 40.

  19. wicket

WICKETpublished at 12:24 BST 26 September

    ul Hassan c Jennings b Hartley 45 (Glamorgan 265 & 112-4 v Lancashire 374)

Zain ul Hassan has just got out reverse sweeping Tom Hartley after a painstakingly put together 45 from 137 balls.

An unnecessary way to go after such a long vigil.

Glamorgan have now taken the lead to ensure Lancashire will have to bat again.

  20. wicket

SUSSEX WIN BY 3 WICKETSpublished at 12:23 BST 26 September

    Worcs 123 & 287 v Sussex 350 & 63-7

It was entertaining but Ollie Robinson finishes the game with a boundary off Matthew Waite pulling through the midwicket area.

Quite a finish and credit to the Worcs side. Already down they have fought and despite leaving the field with smiles on their faces, they might wonder what another 50 runs might have done to the result.

Tom Taylor finishes with 4-22 and as the leading wicket taker in Division One with 57 wickets – quite a feat for a side that is heading to the second tier.

Robinson hits the winning runs and finished with 11-142 in the match.

Sussex confirm their top flight status with a 22 points win while Worcs take just the three.
