    Critchley LBW b Gregory 29 (Essex 379-6 v Somerset 433)

Essex aren't quite out of the woods yet.

Matt Critchley departs with 400 so nearly in sight, playing round a straight one from Lewis Gregory.

He's just in front of the popping crease in front of all three stumps.

    Noah Thain to bat next.

  2. Postpublished at 12:22 BST 26 September

    Notts 374 v Warwicks 258 & 74-4

Sam Hain drives Brett Hutton to mid off, where the ball is stopped by Notts captain, Haseeb Hameed.

    42 behind on first innings.

  3. wicket

SURREY 281 ALL OUTpublished at 12:22 BST 26 September

    Taylor c Brown b Fuller 9 (Hants 248 v Surrey 147 & 281)

The target is 181 runs after James Fuller finishes off the Surrey second innings.

  4. wicket

WICKETpublished at 12:20 BST 26 September

    Carson lbw b Waite 5 (Sussex 59-7 Target: 61)

    This is ridiculous.

  5. Postpublished at 12:18 BST 26 September

    Sussex 59-6 Target: 61

Tom Taylor has found the edge of Danny Lamb but it has flashed through the cordon for a boundary.

The run rate required for Sussex is 0.01 which seems doable.

  6. Postpublished at 12:17 BST 26 September

    Essex 377-5 v Somerset 433

Essex are within touching distance of a fourth batting point and will be safe from relegation if they achieve it.

Batting is not straightforward however for Michael Pepper, who sustained a finger injury earlier in the game.

He drives Craig Overton into the off side without quite controlling the shot.

In the air for a while but the ball flies through point for four.

  7. wicket

WICKETpublished at 12:16 BST 26 September

    Carter lbw b Taylor 16 (Sussex 55-6 Target: 61)

Another for Tom Taylor who moves back to 58 for the season with a 4-18, pinning Oli Carter half forward and half back.

    Six to win.

  8. Bad light in Leedspublished at 12:13 BST 26 September

    Yorkshire 365-7 v Durham 346 - Yorks lead by 19 runs

    Martin Emmerson
    BBC Radio Newcastle

A big black cloud is sitting over Headingley and it's not just a metaphor for Durham.

It's big enought to prompt the umpires to bring the players off the field for bad light - even with the floodlights on.

And they have called an early lunch at 12.10pm. Hopefully it will pass by soon and we won't lose any overs.

And when it comes to overs, Durham have just 2.2 overs left to try and get two more wickets to pick up a final bowling point.

  9. 'Sussex are making heavy weather of this'published at 12:13 BST 26 September

    Sussex 45-5 Target 61

    Frank Watson
    BBC Hereford & Worcester

    Goodness gracious me.

Matthew Waite first ball, John Simpson got underneath it and Rehaan Edavalath has dived forward and picked it up a couple of inches off the turf.

Sussex will still get over the but they are making heavy weather of this.

  10. Division Two updatepublished at 12:12 BST 26 September

Glos have made it to 204-5 in reply to Middlesex's massive 634-9 declared. James Bracey is unbeaten on 56 but they have just lost Graeme van Buuren for 12.

Kent are five wickets down for 187 after Olly Curtiss became Jack Morley's latest victim. The Derbyshire bowler now has 4-65 from 13 overs.

It's slow going in Cardiff as Glamorgan have made 103 in 42 overs against Lancashire. Zain ul Hassan is on 45 from 136 balls and is batting alongside Kiran Carlson, who is on three from 13.

  11. Bad light stops play and early lunch takenpublished at 12:11 BST 26 September

    Yorks 365-7 v Durham 346

The umpires have consulted and decided it is too gloomy to continue and an early lunch will be taken.

Not great news for Durham but it feels as though they are already resigned to cheering on Surrey against Hants in order to survive.

Hopefully the skies will brighten in the next 40 minutes and they can crack on.

  12. Postpublished at 12:10 BST 26 September

    Notts 374 v Warwicks 258 & 70-4

Shot! Lovely square cut by Sam Hain off Lyndon James for four.

He's now on 33 and restoring some calm to the innings, which began so chaotically last night.

    Single off the fourth ball.

Zen Malik sees out the over. 46 behind on first innings now.

  13. wicket

WICKETpublished at 12:08 BST 26 September

    Simpson c Edavalath b Waite 5 (Sussex 45-5 Target 61)

Sussex are making a real hash of this.

John Simpson has picked this off his legs and sent it to deep backward square where Rehaan Edavalath takes a tumbling catch.

    Just 16 needed.

  14. Postpublished at 12:04 BST 26 September

    Hants 248 v Surrey 147 & 276-9 (lead by 175 runs)

Fingernails being chewed here and Hants need this final wicket with the last pairing having put on 18 runs already.

James Taylor has stuck around for 6 from 32 balls but Matthew Fisher has reached 21 from 48 could cause further palpitations if he sticks around.

  15. wicket

WICKETpublished at 12:04 BST 26 September

    Allison b Overton 27 (Essex 369-5 v Somerset 433)

Bowled him! Middle stump knocked out of the ground!

    Too good for Charlie Allison.

Full quick and angling in from Craig Overton!

    He has four wickets.

Michael Pepper sustained a finger injury hence his absence from much of this match, but he is coming in to bat.

  16. Postpublished at 12:03 BST 26 September

    Notts 374 v Warwicks 258 & 64-4

Warwickshire are just over halfway through this deficit and it feels much more likely Notts will bat again than it did at stumps last night.

Lyndon James is in the attack from the Radcliffe Road End and Sam Hain pushes through the off side and past Brett Hutton for four.

Single to Hain pulled behind square.

Zen Malik almost pushes a return catch to the bowler but survives.

  17. 'Durham need two more wickets'published at 11:59 BST 26 September

    Yorks 361-7 v Durham 346

    Martin Emmerson
    BBC Radio Newcastle

Importantly Durham need two more wickets and they've got 4.2 overs to get them in before the bonus points runs out.

The floodlights are now on full.

  18. Postpublished at 11:58 BST 26 September

    Essex 368-4 v Somerset 433

Charlie Allison dabs Craig Overton to deep third for an easy single.

Matt Critchley is struck on the pad but survives the LBW shout.

    Too high.

  19. 50 runs

50 for James Braceypublished at 11:58 BST 26 September

    Middlesex 634-9 dec v Glos 194-4

James Bracey brings up his third half-century of the season. He also has three hundreds so will be looking to round off the campaign with a fourth no doubt.

He got to this one 77 balls with nine fours.

It also takes Bracey over 1,000 first class runs this season.

  20. wicket

WICKETpublished at 11:53 BST 26 September

    Eskinazi b Ramesh 16 (Northants 189 v Leics 429 & 166-4)

Stephen Eskinazi was the hero with the bat in the first innings but he goes cheaply this time.

He miscues a reverse sweep off Nirvan Ramesh and the spinner has bowled him around his legs.

    Jonny Tattersall is in next.
