    Sussex 7-0 Target: 61

Sussex have started slowly as they chase down what looks like certain victory, but there is a first boundary of the morning from Daniel Hughes, crunching Tom Taylor forward of square on the off side.

  2. 'Albert has kept Surrey in the game'published at 11:17 BST 26 September

    Hants 248 v Surrey 147 & 245-8

    Kevan James
    BBC Radio Solent commentator

It's been a very, very good innings from 17-year-old Ralphie Albert making his County Championship debut.

He has certainly kept Surrey in this game with his innings of 63 and has set up what is going to be a cracking third day here.

  3. Postpublished at 11:15 BST 26 September

    Northants 189 v Leics 429 & 122-2

The Leicestershire lead has passed 350 and it looks very much like the team will bat on well into the afternoon to set a huge target.

Lewis Hill advances to 34 with a push down the ground off George Scrimshaw for four runs.

Four more carved through point on the back foot. 38 now.

    The lead is 362.

  4. dropped catch

    Close!published at 11:15 BST 26 September

    Hants 248 v Surrey 147 & 245-8

Brad Wheal almost gets fingertips to that but it falls safe.

Rahul Chahar takes a cross batted swipe at a shortish ball outside off stump and gets a top edge which flies back towards the bowler.

Wheal turns and runs back and possibly got fingertips to the ball as it fell a yard or two behind the wickets at the non-striker's end.

Harsh to call it a drop but we've not got a graphic for 'not really a drop'.

  5. Postpublished at 11:12 BST 26 September

    Essex 332-4 v Somerset 433

Matt Critchley dabs Kasey Aldridge into the off side for one.

Short! Pulled to square leg by Charlie Allison in front of square for four!

Four more pushed into deep third. After a shaky start the runs are flowing again at Chelmsford.

  6. 'Elgar didn't look as comfortable this morning'published at 11:11 BST 26 September

    Essex 332-4 v Somerset 433

    Victoria Polley
    BBC Essex Sports Editor

Dean Elgar was frustrated with himself.

We talked about how he didn't look as comfortable this morning, a couple of balls had squared him up and just got him in a bit of a tangle. But a great innings and particularly that between him and Paul Walter yesterday for the first wicket was good to see and hopefully has put Essex on course for what they need from this game.

  7. wicket

WICKETpublished at 11:11 BST 26 September

    Revis lbw b Raine 38 (Yorks 331-6 v Durham 346)

Ben Raine is not giving up here and has the first breakthrough of the morning for Durham, tailing one in and getting Matthew Revis.

  8. 'The Robinson and Unadkat show'published at 11:10 BST 26 September

    Worcs 123 & 287 v Sussex 350

    Adrian Harms
    BBC Sussex

Very much the Robinson and Unadkat show at Worcester, who have taken 18 wickets between them in the match

Robinson in particular was virtually unplayable, putting the ticking off from the umpires yesterday firmly behind him as he bowled with pace and aggression to blow away the Worcestershire lower order.

This should now be a fourth victory of the season for Sussex and a comfortable mid-table position in their first season back in Division One of the Championship

  9. Postpublished at 11:09 BST 26 September

    Notts 374 v Warwicks 258 & 25-3

Bowling change. Dillon Pennington is on in place of Brett Hutton.

A tight single to Will Young deflecting to mid wicket and Sam Hain clips a leg side half volley in front of square for four.

Hain is across the line and hit on the pad by the fifth ball but it's outside the line of the off stump.

Another LBW shout is turned down. Forward and across to defend and again outside the line.

not much respite for the Bears this morning.

  10. wicket

WICKETpublished at 11:07 BST 26 September

Jaydn Denly lbw Morley 0 (Kent 150-3 v Derbyshire 698-6 dec)

Jack Morley strikes to take his third wicket of the innings, removing Jaydn Denly who failed to trouble the scorers.

Morley took both Kent wickets to fall last night too - Ben Compton and an excellent catch off his own bowling to dismiss Mikey Cohen.

Kent up to 150 runs for the loss of three batters.

  11. 'Well batted Dean Elgar'published at 11:06 BST 26 September

    Essex 323-4 v Somerset 433

    Anthony Gibson
    BBC Radio Somerset

Good piece of bowling by Kasey Aldridge and the big wicket has been taken that of Dean Elgar.

A good start this for Somerset this morning, they've picked up two wickets already.

Well batted Dean Elgar, he's made 118 from 227 deliveries.

  12. Postpublished at 11:03 BST 26 September

    Essex 323-4 v Somerset 433

Matt Critchley is off the mark with a loose push off Kasey Aldridge that just evades backward point for four.

Suddenly batting looks an altogether tougher occupation than it did yesterday when Paul Walter was flaying the ball all over Chelmsford.

  13. wicket

WICKETpublished at 11:03 BST 26 September

    Albert c sub (Neal) b Wheal 63 (Hants 248 v Surrey 147 & 237-8)

Another wicket for Hants and it is another mistimed pull as Ralphie Albert's impressive first class batting debut comes to an end.

Another delivery banged in by Brad Wheal and Albert pivots and pulls to deep square leg where sub fielder Andrew Neal takes the catch.

The lead is 136 with two wickets to play with. How far can Surrey get ahead?

  14. wicket

WICKETpublished at 11:01 BST 26 September

    Elgar LBW b Aldridge 118 (Essex 319-4 v Somerset 433)

    Full length from Kasey Aldridge.

Dean Elgar tries to play across the line and misses.

He didn't get going today but a fine innings overall is applauded by the Essex crowd.

    Matt Critchley will bat next.

  15. 'A stunner from Orr'published at 11:00 BST 26 September

    Hants 248 v Surrey 147 & 237-7

    Jemma Green
    BBC Radio Solent commentator

It was a huge one-hander there by Ali Orr, that's a one day kind of catch.

    It was a stunner.

That's the kind of catch you need to wake you up on the morning of a overcast, dreary County Championship match.

  16. Postpublished at 10:59 BST 26 September

    Notts 374 v Warwicks 258 & 19-3

Brett Hutton appeals for a catch down the leg side as Sam Hain misses and attempted leg glance but it's ruled not out.

Close! Width outside off. Hain tries to cut it, the ball nearly rolls on to the stumps - and then a very tight single is completed!

Single to Will Young in the off side.

    Nervous times for Warwickshire.

  17. wicket

WORCS 287 ALL OUTpublished at 10:59 BST 26 September

    Allison c Simpson b Robinson 0 (Worcs 287, lead by 60 runs)

    And bang...

Well that all happened quickly – Ollie Robinson with two in two balls to bring a close to Worcs' batting season in the top flight.

The lead is 60 and Sussex will not hang around in finishing with them having every chance of making the start of the Ryder Cup at this rate.

  18. wicket

Postpublished at 10:58 BST 26 September

    Waite lbw b Robinson 3 (Worcs 287-9)

    Bang...

Robinson pins Matthew Waite in front and Worcs are hanging by a thread.

  19. Postpublished at 10:54 BST 26 September

    Essex 318-3 v Somerset 433

Charlie Allison is off to a good start, steering Craig Overton safely wide of the slips to deep third for four.

He gets four more in the next over, driving Somerset captain Lewis Gregory with elan through the off side.

    Lovely high elbow there.

  20. Postpublished at 10:53 BST 26 September

    Notts 374 v Warwicks 258 & 17-3

Four more runs to Sam Hain, going forward to Brett Hutton to clip the bowler neatly in front of square leg.

Decent start for the Bears after a calamitous mini session of play last night.
