Worcs 186-2 v Hants 293
On balance, a fine day in weather and a fine day for the hosts at New Road given things could have easily got out of hand from where it started.
Late momentum from day one carried into the morning saw Worcs bowl out Hants for 293 which from a position of 144-0 meant they took 10 wickets for 149.
Brett D'Oliveira under pressure side, bottom of Division One, have to believe they can do that again but first they need to convert their 187-2 into a three figure lead.
WIth the ball Tom Taylor's 5-55 was the standout performance for Worcs and with the bat Jake Libby (70) and Adam Hose (82) put on 126 for the third wicket which has given them a platform and hope.
With bad weather a possibility tomorrow all bets bar the draw may be off but that is neither use nor ornament for Worcs so whatever play is possible should be entertaining.
Gloucs 54-1 v Middlesex 445
An elongated second day finishes at Cheltenham College with Gloucestershire starting well in reply to Middlesex's big first-innings score.
Kane Williamson's 153 was the mainstay of the visitors' 445, but Cameron Bancroft and Joe Phillips have done well to see Gloucestershire through to stumps only one down.
Lancashire 137 v Glamorgan 261 & 95-2
Very much Glamorgan's day two in Manchester.
After Lancashire collapsed from 107-3 to 137 all out with Mason Crane taking a career-best 6-19, Glamorgan close 219 runs ahead with eight wickets remaining.
After two early James Anderson wickets, Sam Northeast and Kiran Carlson steadied things before stumps.
Worcs 179-2 v Hants 293
Good little contest between Sonny Baker and Adam Hose with the Hants quick tempting the Worcs man with a short pitched barrage.
Honours are probably even in that over with Hose hooking him for 4,6,4 before Baker pings him on the forearm.
Hose is bruised but up to 75.
Worcs 164-2 v Hants 293
The last hour or two have looked a good time to bat in the late evening sunshine at New Road.
Jake Libby (69) and Adam Hose (60) have done well to steer Worcs into a decent position in this game with the end of day two in sight.
Four overs to go and with Worcs trailing by 129 with eight wickets still up if they have a stellar day on day three you never know.
Essex 602-6d v Warwickshire 139-2
Dan Mousley manages to get off strike to leave Ethan Bamber to nightwatch a couple of deliveries with six crowded around the bat.
He manages a single off the last and that is that for the day.
Just four wickets fell today as on the first day and Essex need 18 more to win which puts the chances of victory into perspective.
Not much joy for the bowlers all round with Beau Webster's 2-55 for Warwickshire and Matt Critchley's 2-48 for the hosts the pick.
It has, in short, been a batters match and in that context there have been decent centuries for Tom Westley (148), Charlie Allison (133) and Michael Pepper (107no) to admire.
Mousley, who finished unbeaten on 54, is probably well placed to join them tomorrow.
Davies st Pepper b Critchley 58 (Essex 602-6d v Warwickshire 138-2)
How important might that be?
Alex Davies has just overbalanced reaching for one from Matt Critchley that beats the edge and Michael Pepper reacts like a cobra behind.
Davies makes an attempt to poke his foot back but is still moving it through the air when the bails are off.
Late blow for the visitors.
Lancashire 137 v Glamorgan 261 & 79-2
Scott Read

Glamorgan are looking to profit in this evening session.
They had a lot of momentum in the afternoon session.
A total of around 180 would probably leave it unattainable for Lancashire.
Essex 602-6d v Warwickshire 135-1
Sam Cook looks.... well... cooked and he is being wrapped up with tomorrow morning in mind as Tom Westley brings Matt Critchley on to see this out.
It has not stopped the bleeding though with Dan Mousley and Alex Davies keeping on the pressure, the former bringing up his half century with a three from the final ball of an over which goes for 12.
Three overs to go now and the Essex skipper Westley bowls the first of them.
Northants 265-5 v Derbyshire 377
An unbroken sixth-wicket stand of 111 between George Bartlett and Justin Broad has kept Northants well in the game at Wantage Road.
Both batters passed fifty in the evening session and they'll be hopeful of getting close to Derbyshire's first-innings score now.
Kent 203-3 v Leics 471
Kent opener Ben Compton just had time to reach his century before the players were taken off for bad light and stumps was called shortly after.
The hosts are very much in the game against the Division Two leaders who will be striving for early wickets on day three.
Durham 153 & 222-5 v Surrey 322
Durham have been fortunate in the dropped catches Surrey gave them, but unfortunate in that Colin Ackermann's eventual dismissal seemed harsh. Taken by Patel on 43 to a supposed bat-pad nick, having dropped him earlier on three.
2-36 from Sai Kishore has been particularly useful as has 1-44 and two catches from Dan Lawrence.
Durham are effectively 53-5 and expect Surrey to wrap this up tomorrow if there are no miraculous lower-order partnerships from Durham.
Notts 189-2 v Somerset 438
Somerset surrendered a really strong position by gifting wickets to Notts this morning when after that mammoth Tom Abell and James Rew partnership yesterday many thought they could get well past 500.
Craig Overton and Jake Ball's last wicket stand of nearly 50 the only real contributions after Jack Leach fell to the first ball of the day and Rew not long later.
Haseeb Hameed (103*) has been positive to reach his first century v Somerset and an impressive 1,000 runs for the season already.
Joe Clarke (26*) has been a useful aid together with his skipper for 100 minutes as Somerset have tried seven different bowlers this afternoon.
Durham 153 & 220-5 v Surrey 322
David Bedingham is missing from this game remember as he is back with South Africa for their awards dinner for their incredible World Test Championship triumph.
Neil Wagner is injured so Codi Yusuf is the only one of Durham's overseas trio, who were all available last week, playing in this match.
He is not really a number seven but almost a nightwatcher, surprisingly ahead of Callum Parkinson who generally relishes the role.
Three overs remain for him and Graham Clark to negotiate tonight.
Durham 219-5 - lead Surrey by 50
Martin Emmerson
BBC Radio Newcastle
Got to feel for Colin Ackermann after he's been given out by umpire James Middlebrook, who seems to believe he has been caught at short leg off Dan Lawrence.
Ackermann can't believe the decision and stands there shaking his head. A look at the camera suggests his bat and gloves are nowhere near the ball. It has initially clipped the knee roll of his front pad and gone up his thigh pad to Ryan Patel.
It's a horrible decision in the circumstances because Durham are now effectively 50-5 and there were only 4.4 overs of the day to go.
Notts 190-2 v Somerset 438
Dave Bracegirdle
BBC Radio Nottingham commentator
A very elegant and flamboyant drive to make the century.
It's now 1,000 first-class runs for the season.
A magnificent knock from Hameed.
Notts 187-2 v Somerset 438
Not quite like Emilio Gay's nervous 90s, Hameed hit a six in Archie Vaughan's first over to reach 98* then a couple of overs later gets the strike back to use his bottom hand whip to drill Vaughan from outside off through and past mid on for four.
103 off 173 balls from the Notts skipper complete with two sixes too.
His first century v Somerset, third of this season and 1,000 Championship runs for the year.
His recent change of bat seems to be working well.
Yorks 292-4 v Sussex 222
So it was spin to the finish for Sussex with the new ball set to be taken for fresh bowlers in the morning.
Skipper John Simpson kept going with Jack Carson and James Coles for 10 overs after the new ball was available but it was a gamble, on balance, which did not quite deliver.
Yes they got the odd one to spit but Harry Duke and Matthew Revis, who had shown a little uncertainty early, looked more comfortable the longer the session progressed.
Sussex have at least removed two thorns in Adam Lyth and James Wharton, the pair sharing a 168-run partnership for the third wicket.
Lyth was in imperious form until a slightly contentious stumping when he had 115. Wharton will kick himself for not going on to three figures after being out for 85.
For all that, Yorkshire remains strongly placed in this game, particularly if the pitch deteriorates at all for Sussex's second dig.
And with the weather looking likely to play ball for the final two days pushing on as quickly as possible tomorrow could be key.
Ackermann c Patel b Lawrence 43 (Durham 153 & 219-5 v Surrey 322)
Three consecutive maidens from Sai Kishore have built pressure.
Colin Ackermann was given a life on three by Ryan Patel, but the same man catches this one, just Ackermann does not think he has hit it.
Adjudged to be caught bat, pad to short leg.
Codi Yusuf in at seven, Durham effectively 50-5, Surrey will fancy a couple more wickets tonight and are still firm favourites to wrap another victory up early tomorrow.
