  1. 'Williamson looks imperious'published at 13:37 British Summer Time 30 July

Gloucs v Middlesex 275-4 - lunch, day two

    Kevin Hand
    BBC Radio London commentator

A frustrating wait due to the heavy rain of yesterday, and the resulting wet outfield, meant only 10 overs were possible before lunch.

Leus du Plooy looked slightly unimpressed by his lbw as he walked off rubbing his back hip but showed no form of dissent.

It was a crucial breakthrough for the hosts just after the fourth-wicket partnership passed 150.

Kane Williamson (126 not out) looks in imperious form but Gloucestershire will still be rueing his drop early at slip.

The dull passage of play with the Kookaburra, which usually starts after 15 overs of the ball's life, has begun and is mercilessly only 18 overs from the end before the second new ball becomes available.

  2. 'Wickets all down to error'published at 13:19 British Summer Time 30 July

Notts v Somerset 396-8 - lunch, day two

    Anthony Gibson
    BBC Radio Somerset

A dismal morning for Somerset, as they lost four wickets in adding just 58 to their overnight 338-4, sacrificing the initiative in the process.

The Notts seamers bowled well, but the pitch is as placid as ever, and the wickets were all down to batsman error.

Like Tom Abell before him, James Rew fell into the most obvious of traps, caught down the leg side trying to hook a short ball from Dillon Pennington, while Tom Banton and Archie Vaughan were both caught behind off loose shots.

Somerset seemed caught in two minds over whether to pile up the runs or chase batting bonus points, and ended up achieving neither.

  4. Lunch at New Roadpublished at 13:13 British Summer Time 30 July

    Worcs v Hants 213-6

Ethan Brookes bowls out a maiden and Worcs will be very happy with their morning's work having taken 4-67 in the opening session.

The slumped shoulders of yesterday, buoyed by two wickets last night, have risen with each celebration.

There is still a long way to go to win this match and plenty of bad weather forecast (particularly tomorrow which looks wet) but a decent effort from the hosts.

  5. Lunch at Chelmsfordpublished at 13:08 British Summer Time 30 July

    Essex 465-5 v Warwickshire

Charlie Allison (77) and Michael Pepper (33) have pushed on well towards lunch and it is already looking like Essex will not lose this game.

Taking wickets has proved difficult for the visitors on a good batting strip but with a decent line-up (albeit minus Simon Harmer) they look likely to have plenty to defend.

  6. wicket

Lunch at Scarboroughpublished at 13:04 British Summer Time 30 July

    Imam-ul-Haq c Haines b Carson 19 (Yorks 80-2 v Sussex 222)

As yesterday when James Coles fell on the stroke of lunch Yorkshire lose a wicket with the last ball of the morning session.

Jack Carson gets a decent bit of turn from this pitch and finds the edge of Imam-ul-Haq's bat.

There is a suggestion of a flick of John Simpson's left glove but it does not put off Tom Haines at slip who takes the catch.

  7. Lunch at Trent Bridgepublished at 13:03 British Summer Time 30 July

    Notts v Somerset 396-8

A curate's egg of a scorecard for Somerset, a bit similar to Leicestershire's even more remarkable first innings card last week.

From 0-2 to then a record breaking fourth-wicket-partnership (313) including a career-best for Tom Abell, and then a collapse this morning with barely any contribution from the other eight Somerset batters.

Third top score for Somerset so far is Craig Overton with 18*!

Notts have bowled well this morning, as they did at Taunton just a few weeks ago, showing why they have been challenging at the top of the table most of the season.

  8. 'A big lead for Surrey'published at 13:03 British Summer Time 30 July

    Durham 153 v Surrey 322

    Mark Church
    BBC Radio London commentator

It was a slow full toss.

It's a big lead for Surrey, five wickets for Ben Raine and a good position for them.

They've added 182 this morning, it'll all be about Durham batting after lunch.

  9. Five-wicket haul for Raine & early lunchpublished at 13:02 British Summer Time 30 July

    Clark c Potts b Raine 82 (Durham 153 v Surrey 322 AO)

Two minutes before the risk of an extra half an hour being taken, Surrey's innings ends and Ben Raine gets a deserved five for 72 with five maidens.

Jordan Clark was even more aggressive with just number 11 Dan Worrall for company, a slower ball low full toss smashed to long off to end his top score of the match knock, 82 off just 76 balls.

Two clever cutters from Raine earning the last two of his michelle.

  10. wicket

WICKETpublished at 12:57 British Summer Time 30 July

    Brown c Roderick b Finch 2 (Worcs v Hants 207-6)

This is a good ball that lifts and leaves. Hants captain Ben Brown tries to fend it away but edges to Gareth Roderick behind the stumps.

The celebrations, Adam Finch wheeling away in delight, suggest Worcs know this is tipping their way.

  11. Seagull stops play!published at 12:49 British Summer Time 30 July

    Yorks 66-1 v Sussex 222

Gurinder Sandhu is in his deilvery stride at the start of his seventh over but Imam-ul-Haq pulls out at the last minute as a huge seagull flies right across his eyeline.

Don't know about distracting him that looked big enough to take him off as lunch. It settles menacingly over on the scoreboard on the leg side boundary.

  12. 'It looks like it's come off the knee pad'published at 12:48 British Summer Time 30 July

    Durham 153 v Surrey 304-9

    Martin Emmerson
    BBC Radio Newcastle

I don't think he's hit it, it looks like it's come off the knee pad.

We're in the territory of delayed lunch now.

  13. wicket

WICKETpublished at 12:48 British Summer Time 30 July

    Kishore c Robinson b Parkinson 6 (Durham 153 v Surrey 304-9)

    Caught down the legside.

A bit flatter and shorter, basically a long hop, from the left-arm spinner Callum Parkinson but they all count!

Good grab from Ollie Robinson behind the sticks, Sai Kishore should have pulled that, the tickle to his peril.

  14. Second batting point for Surreypublished at 12:45 British Summer Time 30 July

    Durham 153 v Surrey 302-8

    Jordan Clark is looking imperious.

Perhaps enjoying his proximity to his Cumbrian home and enjoying having his brother watching him bat from close proximity too.

He is 67* at more than a run a ball.

  15. wicket

WICKETpublished at 12:44 British Summer Time 30 July

    Jack c Waite b Finch 29 (Worcs v Hants 201-5)

The nightwatch has been very effective from Eddie Jack but it is over.

It is a fairly unthreatening delivery from Adam Finch but Jack bunts it to mid off where Matthew Waite takes the catch.

Another step in the right direction for Worcs who have taken 3-55 since the start of play.

  16. 'It was a nothing ball'published at 12:42 British Summer Time 30 July

    Notts v Somerset 379-8

    Anthony Gibson
    BBC Radio Somerset

Well bowled Lyndon James and another good take from Joe Clarke.

Disappointing from Archie Vaughan, it was a nothing ball.

  17. wicket

WICKETpublished at 12:41 British Summer Time 30 July

    Vaughan c Clarke b James 15 (Notts v Somerset 379-8)

Nottinghamshire celebrate taking wicketImage source, Rex Features

Another catch for Joe Clarke who is not a specific wicketkeeper but after Tom Moores' loss of red ball form in recent seasons has been given the gloves.

A loose shot from Archie Vaughan brings his downfall.

Migael Pretorius had that cracking near-ton here last year, he will not go down wondering!

  18. 'A perfect delivery from Raine'published at 12:38 British Summer Time 30 July

    Durham 153 v Surrey 291-8

    Martin Emmerson
    BBC Radio Newcastle

It was a perfect delivery from Raine.

He strikes the off stump, it's been the story of this match.

I wonder if we will get into the territory of the new ball?

  19. Postpublished at 12:38 British Summer Time 30 July

    Yorks 66-1 v Sussex 222

Finlay Bean's exit has brought Yorkshire's overseas signing Imam-ul Haq to the crease and he starts his innings with an on-drive four on his second ball.

The Pakistan international was due to start here at Scarborough against champions Surrey but was prevented from playing due to visa issues.

With those now resolved the stage is set for him to hit the ground running and he moves to 12 with a cover drive and square cut off Danny Lamb.

  20. wicket

WICKETpublished at 12:38 British Summer Time 30 July

    Lawes b Raine 8 (Durham 153 v Surrey 291-8)

A beautiful shot for four through mid on by Tom Lawes potentially winds up Ben Raine, but instead of an extra bit of effort to get him a fourth he cleverly bowls a leg cutter.

Very astute from Raine, now IPL spinner Sai Kishore in at ten.
