It was a very loose one from Freddie McCann and he got the faintest of nicks.
An absolute gift.
A big lift for Somerset.

McCann c Rew b Ball 48 (Notts 107-2 v Somerset 438)
Out of nowhere, a very loose swish outside off from Freddie McCann.
Another bonus wicket in this two-round Championship fortnight between the T20 Blast and the One-Day Cup.
White ball cricket impacting the red ball batting with so many wickets coming off poor or innocuous deliveries.
Jake Ball the grateful beneficiary!
Notts 106-1 v Somerset 438
Two centuries and six 50s, onto 950 runs this campaign too.
He had 50 in the second innings last week at Hampshire.
All in all the Bolton-born opener has done rather well since taking on the reigns and ever-improving his opening the batting skills down at Trent Bridge.
A healthy strike-rate from both too showing the expected placidity of this surface.
Durham 153 & 156-2 v Surrey 322
Sam Curran bowled some loose balls in the first innings then picked up wickets.
He is trying the same tactic again now it seems, the first two balls of his sixth over hit for four by Colin Ackermann to reach 25*, but he gets through the over unharmed.
Notts 98-1 v Somerset 438
Jake Ball the enforcer after 22 overs, in just his first two overs, implies that Somerset don't feel this pitch and ball give the bowlers much of a chance of taking orthodox seam-wickets.
Leg theory has not worked either mind, both batters now into the 40s looking fairly untroubled.

I think it was lack of foot movement and some poor shot choices for Durham yesterday.
Durham are doing a much better job of it today.
Yorks 210-2 v Sussex 222
A typically elegant cover drive from Adam Lyth brings up a 40th first-class century and a third of the season for the Yorkshire opener.
At 37, Lyth is turning out to be a fine maturing wine given this season is already up there with the best for the man born about 20 miles up the coast in Whitby.
It has taken 200 balls and contained 14 fours.
He passed 1,000 runs for the season into his 90s and now he is evidently ready up to entertain following his raised bat with a ramp for four and another cover drive to bring them level with Sussex.
Division Two latest
Lancashire are in all sorts of bother against Glamorgan at Old Trafford.
Spinner Mason Crane has just picked up his fifth wicket, pinning Tom Hartley lbw for nought, to leave the Red Rose 132-8. They still trail by 129.
Kent have lost a second wicket against leaders Leicestershire, but they're still well placed on 120-2, replying to the Foxes' 471 all out.
Derbyshire have taken control against Northants. They've got the hosts five down and still 222 behind. 155-5 at Wantage Road.
It's tea at Cheltenham College where Middlesex are 391-7 against Gloucestershire.
Durham 153 & 143-2 v Surrey 322
That was probably Durham's best session of the match so far, and a lot of that is thanks to Emilio Gay's batting.
He is 82* alongside Colin Ackermann 16* as Sai Kishore will start with his left-arm tweakers, his figures currently read 1-25 off 10.
Notts 78-1 v Somerset 438
What is the opposite of cuse of the commentator?
Somerset coaching staff and Lewis Gregory reading BBC live text updates during the tea interval?
The first ball after tea will be bowled by Jake Ball at his old home against his former team-mates, albeit Freddie McCann was a bit young to be playing first team when Ball was last on the staff here.
Josh Davey is another seam bowling option before Somerset may turn to the off-spin of Archie Vaughan don't forget, bowling options aplenty!
Essex 602-6d v Warwickshire 21-0
A slightly belated tea on account of the rain delay which hit earlier but no overs lost in the day given it was less than half an hour.
And a solid enough performance from Warwickshire's openers Alex Davies (5) and Rob Yates (16).
The latter provided the only heart in mouth moment for the away dressing room when Michael Pepper spilled a very difficult chance early off the bowling of Sam Cook.
it was a minor blermish on an excellent day for the Essex keeper after his unbeaten 107.
Charlie Allison (133) and earlier Tom Westley (148) had also helped to put the defences high for Essex as they seek what may be at best a winning draw.
Yorkshire 199-2 v Sussex 222 - tea, day two
Adrian Harms
BBC Sussex
Yorkshire are in complete control at tea batting through the session adding 119 without losing a wicket.
Adam Lyth is four short of what would be his fourth century of the season, and has already passed 1,000 runs for the season in this innings.
With James Wharton offering excellent support this pair have looked largely untroubled, and with a new ball still 22 over away Yorkshire will be eyeing a substantial lead at the close of play.
Worcs 35-0 v Hants 293
A solid start from Pears openers Jake Libby and Gareth Roderick.
The pair, who leave for tea on 17 each, look comfortable enough. Few moments of panic aside from when an inside edge from Libby squirted past his leg stump.
Durham 153 & 143-2 v Surrey 322
Emilio Gay (82*) has played some glorious strokes this afternoon.
Colin Ackermann (16*) has looked slightly more settled alongside him.
With 32 overs remaining on day two they trail by just 26 now so it would have to be a real collapse for Durham to lose a second consecutive match inside two days.
Notts 78-1 v Somerset 438
Haseeb Hameed and Freddie McCann have batted as you would expect of a one and three in a top side.
Somerset have cycled through Lewis Gregory, Craig Overton, Jack Leach and Miggy Pretorius but still no Jake Ball back on his home turf, even after 23 overs.
He is more of a T20 death bowler these days, but if he is going to be picked for a four day match ahead of young talented bowling all-rounders Kasey Aldridge, Ben Green (on loan at Leicestershire again) and Alfie Ogborne, then you would have thought they would give him a go before the ball's 20 overs old...

It's good to see Somerset attacking with the ball, they're trying different things.
Leach is just getting the odd one to turn to the left hand.
Yorks 199-2 v Sussex 222
Adam Lyth will have 20 minutes to contemplate his position in the nervous 90s but it is unlikely to bother the experienced opener one bit you would think.
That has been a superb session for Yorkshire who walk off just 23 runs short of parity having batted through that session without losing a wicket.
Lyth has 96 and James Wharton is unbeaten on 53 and with 30 odd overs remaining in the day a big lead is theirs for the taking.
Yorks 194-2 v Sussex 222
Adam Lyth brings up 1,000 runs for the season with a single off James Coles and it moves him within seven of a third hundred of the campaign.
He remains behind Dom Sibley in second place in the County Championship Division One runs scoring table but only 40 runs behind and the way this is going he could finish the night in No 1 spot.
Durham 153 & 131-2 v Surrey 322

I think it shows how below par that first innings for Durham was.
There's no real demons in this pitch, they're really pushing on now.
Lancashire are in a spot of bother against Glamorgan after falling to 121-5 in their first innings. Phil Salt is the latest batter to go for eight, dismissed by spinner Mason Crane. They still trail by 140.
Kent have made a good start in reply to leaders Leicestershire's 471 all out. The hosts are 102-1 at Canterbury with Ben Compton just passing fifty.
Derbyshire continue to chip away at Northants who are now 136-3 and 241 runs behind. Luke Procter has 71.
Middlesex might not be on for such a big score as they threatened when Kane Williamson was batting. They're 369-7 at Cheltenham College, although Ben Geddes and Luke Hollman are both well set.
