  1. Postpublished at 11:46 British Summer Time 30 July

    Notts v Somerset 355-5

A few chuckles provided at Trent Bridge as 12th man Farhan Ahmed interrupts the Mo Abbas over by bringing full short leg kit for Ben Slater.

Slater drops his trousers in the middle of the pitch, puts his jock strap on and some short leg pads, then puts his trousers back on ready for a potential short ball from the Pakistani medium pacer.

  2. Postpublished at 11:41 British Summer Time 30 July

    Essex 390-4 v Warwickshire

Tom Westley battingImage source, Rex Features

Tom Westley has picked up where he left off and has moved to 141 after getting one off his legs off Corey Rocchiccioli to the fine leg boundary.

Unconvincing perhaps but another step towards a fourth batting point which is now 10 runs away with three overs to go before the cut off.

  3. dropped catch

Bean dropped on noughtpublished at 11:36 British Summer Time 30 July

    Yorks 0-0 v Sussex 222

Fynn Hudson-Prentice finds the edge of Finlay Bean's bat but Tom Alsop puts it down at first slip.

The ball flies slightly to his left about knee height but it is catchable and that is a big miss.

  4. Third batting bonus point for Somersetpublished at 11:35 British Summer Time 30 July

    Notts v Somerset 350-5

Tom Banton battingImage source, Rex Features

It's not been fast scoring for James Rew or Tom Banton this morning.

Dillon Pennington has bowled decent tight lines so far and it now seems Somerset will do well to get 400, let alone the 450, before the 110 overs are up.

Tom Abell and Rew scored freely all around the ground yesterday, but they were 0-2 remember and with Banton only currently 10 off 30 balls showing maybe the pitch is not as flat as the centurions made it look.

  5. 'Lawrence will be really disappointed'published at 11:32 British Summer Time 30 July

    Durham 153 v Surrey 209-6

    Martin Emmerson
    BBC Radio Newcastle

It's been a lovely innings, but he's caught at short midwicket.

Dan Lawrence will be really disappointed, it was a bit like Ackermann's dismissal yesterday.

  6. wicket

WICKETpublished at 11:32 British Summer Time 30 July

    Lawrence c Ackermann b Yusuf 88 (Durham 153 v Surrey 209-6)

Codi Yusuf is given his first go of the day and Dan Lawrence falls into the trap set by Alex Lees.

Two mid-wickets are in catching for him to flick one there, and he does just that.

Nice piece of inswing from Yusuf but Lawrence has given away what seemed an inevitable century.

Former Durham all-rounder Cam Steel is in at number eight.

  7. 'A superb piece of batting'published at 11:23 British Summer Time 30 July

    Durham 153 v Surrey 205-5

    Mark Church
    BBC Radio London commentator

A superb piece of batting from Dan Lawrence to bring up the 200.

He's so hard to play against when he's like this.

  8. Surrey lead by 50published at 11:22 British Summer Time 30 July

    Durham 153 v Surrey 203-5

Dan Lawrence has continued to bat positively this morning, even Ben Raine cannot restrict his boundary hitting as much as he managed most of yesterday.

He is now 87* with Jordan Clark having had less of the strike this morning on 23*.

  9. Foxes pass 400; Chahal strikespublished at 11:20 British Summer Time 30 July

    Division Two latest

Leaders Leicestershire have just got another batting bonus point in their quest for promotion after passing 400 at Kent.

The Foxes are 404-9 with number 10 Tom Scriven 50 not out.

Northants spinner Yuzvendra Chahal has picked up a fifth wicket against Derbyshire to leave them 363-9. Ben Aitchison was the batter to go, bowled for 45.

Just a reminder that there are delayed starts between Lancashire and Glamorgan and Gloucestershire and Middlesex.

  10. wicket

SUSSEX 222 ALL OUTpublished at 11:20 British Summer Time 30 July

    Lamb c Duke b Milnes 48 (Yorks v Sussex 222)

Matt Milnes finds the edge, Harry Duke takes the catch, and the bowler gives Danny Lamb a right mouthful on his way off, which betrays just how well this last pair have done.

It has taken Yorkshire less than four overs to finish off the Sussex innings but Lamb and Gurinder Sandhu have added 72 for the final stand.

  11. Stokes out of fifth Testpublished at 11:09 British Summer Time 30 July
    Breaking

    England v India - 11:00 BST, Thursday

Some news to bring you ahead of Thursday's fifth and final Test match between England and India at The Oval... captain Ben Stokes has been ruled out with a shoulder injury.

England have made four changes with Jacob Bethell coming in for Stokes, and Gus Atkinson, Jamie Overton and Josh Tongue forming the pace bowling attack.

Liam Dawson, Brydon Carse and Jofra Archer are the other three to miss out.

Ollie Pope will lead the side.

You can read more on that here.

  12. wicket

WICKETpublished at 11:07 British Summer Time 30 July

    Gubbins b Allison 0 (Worcs v Hants 148-3)

Early strike for Worcestershire to continue the momentum from last night as Ben Allison fires one through the defences of Nick Gubbins.

It is hard to see exactly why the Hants man missed that one but it was through past his outside edge and probably did a little late to clip off.

  13. 'It could be tough for Durham today'published at 11:05 British Summer Time 30 July

    Durham 153 v Surrey 185-5

    Mark Church
    BBC Radio London commentator

Surrey's first aim will be to get a first batting point, anything over 300 will put them in a fantastic position.

If Lawrence has an hour of batting then that scoreboard will tick up fairly quickly.

It could be tough for Durham today.

  14. Play at Chester-le-Streetpublished at 11:04 British Summer Time 30 July

    Durham 153 v Surrey 182-5

It was cloudy for most of the day in the North East yesterday, but not conditions you would expect 15 wickets to be lost in.

Durham played some really poor shots and then a few Surrey batters were equally culpable.

Dan Lawrence counter-attacked for a particularly useful partnership with Jordan Clark, leaving Surrey's current run rate at 4.5 runs per over - so if they keep wickets in hand then a lot of bonus points could still come their way!

  15. Play at New Roadpublished at 11:03 British Summer Time 30 July

    Worcs v Hants 148-2

Tom Taylor is quickly through the first over of day two in Worcester at a cost of two runs, Eddie Jack notching the double.

Nick Gubbins is his company in the middle but yet to score.

    Leach c James b Pennington 0 (Notts v Somerset 338-5)

Dillon Pennington celebrates wicketImage source, Rex Features

First ball of the day, first wicket!

Somerset lost the first two wickets in the County Championship yesterday too!

Dillon Pennington did not bowl well yesterday, but having had Tom Abell caught on the pull, bizarrely Jack Leach decides to slash a cut at his third ball, held comfortably by Lyndon James.

Tom Banton in to play his natural game and push for maximum batting bonus points in quick time now then!

  17. Play at Scarboroughpublished at 11:01 British Summer Time 30 July

    Yorks v Sussex 210-9

Matthew Revis has the ball in hand and fires down a dot ball to start the day, Gurinder Sandhu (24) getting in behind it nicely.

Danny Lamb is the other batsman, unbeaten on 40 with the pair having put on 60 for the final wicket.

  18. Play at Trent Bridgepublished at 11:00 British Summer Time 30 July

    Notts v Somerset 338-4

It did rain this morning in Nottingham but the Test grounds have brilliant drainage and pretty effective covers so we are impressively starting on time.

Dillon Pennington to complete the second half of his over to nightwatcher Jack Leach from last night.

Remember they oddly came off for bad light after the first light meter check just two balls after Tom Abell departed the first ball of this 94th over.

  19. Play at Chelmsfordpublished at 11:00 British Summer Time 30 July

    Essex 350-4 v Warwickshire

Ethan Bamber will bowl the first over of day two with Tom Westley (124) in his sights and Ben Allison unbeaten on 27 at the non strikers' end.

  20. Postpublished at 11:00

Overnight rain and a couple of light showers this morning means there will be delays at Lancashire and Cheltenham.

But we're set to start on time in seven of our nine matches.

    Let's go...
