Northants' Ben Sanderson wraps up the Glamorgan tail in double quick time to bring a end to the innings.

The hosts have a big lead and will have about 16 overs after a short break to make some early inroads into Northants' batting line-up.

They are in a very strong position right now.

  2. Postpublished at 17:18 British Summer Time

    Lancs 458 v Derbys 91-3

Harry Came and Brooke Guest are having to hang tough against some disciplined, probing bowling.

Another tidy six balls from George Balderson whose four overs have conceded 12 runs.

Guest unfurls a nice drive off the miserly Tom Hartley which finds the rope at long off for his first boundary. Hartley has 1-14 from his eight overs.

    Durham 258-3 v Notts 407

Brett Hutton finds Emilio Gay's outside edge but it bounces well short of second slip.

His fourth delivery keeps low but Gay works it down to backward square leg for a single which brings up another fifty stand.

It's come off 110 balls. Colin Ackermann has provided 27 of the runs.

  4. 300 runs

300 up for Surreypublished at 17:13 British Summer Time

Foakes is going along very nicely on 59.

    Glos 200-4 v Kent 424

Cameron Green (42*) and James Bracey (24*) have added 61 together and have moved Glos to 200.

  6. 'More pressure on Yorkshire'published at 17:12 British Summer Time

    Surrey 296-5 v Yorkshire 255

    Nikki Chaudhuri
Commentator on BBC 5 Sports Extra

Surrey are very content to continue to take the lead.

They're building even more pressure on Yorkshire here. Foakes is enjoying himself out there.

  7. Postpublished at 17:12 British Summer Time

    Surrey 296-5 v Yorkshire 255

Ben Foakes with another glorious straight drive, this time off Ben Coad.

Leicestershire edge ahead of Middlesex and Peter Handscomb is going strong on 80.

How much of a lead can the Division Two leaders build up?

  9. dropped catch

Haines dropped on 43published at 17:09 British Summer Time

    Somerset 338 v Sussex 152 & 83-0 f/o

Big chance goes begging for Somerset, just as they would like to stem the flow of these quick runs from Sussex.

Tom Haines slashes at one outside off stump from Craig Overton and it flies towards Tom Lammonby in the slips but he can't hold on.

It wasn't the easiest take to make but Lammonby will be disappointed to put it down, nonetheless.

You can't give Haines too many free passes.

  10. wicket

WICKETpublished at 17:08 British Summer Time

    Nicholls lbw Snater 2 (Worcs 358 & 3-2 v Essex 157)

Well, Henry Nicholls did do better than 0 but not by much.

Shane Snater has two wickets in two overs and the Pears are under the pump here.

Can Essex continue this and make things very interesting.

    Worcestershire's lead is 204.

  12. Postpublished at 17:07 British Summer Time

    Somerset 338 v Sussex 152 & 82-0 f/o

Sussex might be wondering why they couldn't bat like this in their first innings...

Tom Haines hits one down the ground past Craig Overton's outstretched left hand and it runs away for another four.

The visitors move onto 82 without loss. They were already four wickets down by the time the reached 80 in the first innings.

Lovely shot for his first boundary of the innings and Surrey are pressing on at the moment.

It's tough out there for Yorkshire. Can they muster up another wicket?

  15. 'A really valuable 50'published at 17:04 British Summer Time

    Melinda Farrell

It's his second 50 for Durham, a really valuable 50 today.

It also brings up the 250 for Durham and another batting points, which will be crucial.

    Another handy partnership forming.

Can he go on with it?

    Durham 250-3 v Notts 407

Emilio Gay clips Liam Patterson-White into the offside and reaches fifty for just the second time this season.

The previous time the Durham batter went on to make 152 against Yorkshire.

The 16th fifty in his red-ball career comes off 113 balls with four fours and also earns up the first batting point for Durham

Notts now take the new ball and toss it to Mo Abbas.

  17. Postpublished at 17:02 British Summer Time

    Somerset 338 v Sussex 152 & 74-0 f/o

Perhaps a bit of tiredness creeping in for the Somerset bowlers this evening? It's understandable if so having enforced Sussex to follow on.

Tom Haines clips one for four through mid-wicket off Craig Overton and he moves onto 38.

Daniel Hughes then drives one down the ground for four off Archie Vaughan and is on 28 at the other end.

This partnership is now worth 74. Much better stuff with the bat from the visitors at the second time of asking so far.

  19. wicket

WICKETpublished at 16:58 British Summer Time

    Roderick c Critchley b Snater (Worcs 358 & 1-1 v Essex 157)

    Early breakthrough for Essex!

Worcs opener Gareth Roderick lasts only seven balls before he falls to Shane Snater.

Henry Nicholls, who got a duck in the first innings, is the new man in and will hope to do better this time around.

  20. Postpublished at 16:58 British Summer Time

    Surrey 281-5 v Yorkshire 255

Jonny Tattersall has the gloves on for Yorkshire in this evening session after Jonny Bairstow took one on the end of the finger this afternoon and didn't come back out after tea.

Bairstow is watching from the balcony and he'll be wondering how his side can try and get these final five Surrey wickets as quickly as possible.
