A perfect start to the evening session for Yorkshire and Jason Roy is gone just four balls after tea!

Roy smashed part-time spinner Adam Lyth over his head for six just before the interval but Lyth has the last laugh.

Roy nicks it off the edge and George Hill takes the catch at slip.

Somerset will be delighted if they can find three wickets tonight.

That will put them in control.

  6. Postpublished at 16:29 British Summer Time

    Lancs 458 v Derbys 54-2

Tom Hartley's first over costs just the single to Wayne Madsen.

And after his two-wicket, five-over burst, James Anderson takes a breather and is replaced by Anderson Phillip.

    Just for continuity.

  7. Postpublished at 16:27 British Summer Time

    Lancs 458 v Derbys 53-2

Wayne Madsen is off the mark straightaway, picking up a couple off his first ball from James Anderson.

The Derbyshire skipper, at 41, just two years junior of Anderson - then dabs a single to get off strike.

We're just nine overs in and it's time for the spin of Tom Hartley.

Lovely day for it in central London once again.

  10. Postpublished at 16:22 British Summer Time

    Somerset 338 v Sussex 152 & 20-0 f/o

The win predictor gives Sussex a 5% chance of victory as things stand. Hard to argue too much at the moment.

Openers Tom Haines and Daniel Hughes have made a steady start to their second innings, though they did so in the first before it fell apart.

It's 20-0 after the first four overs.

  11. wicket

WICKETpublished at 16:21 British Summer Time

    Lloyd c Hurst b Anderson 27 (Lancs 458 v Derbys 50-2)

    James Anderson strikes again.

The former England ace pulls his length back and again tucks up David Lloyd.

The Derbyshire opener tries to get out of the way but it clips something and pops up to wicketkeeper Matty Hurst.

Lloyd is not happy with the decision - he thinks bat had nothing to do with it.

Anderson has 2-21 after 4.2 overs.

  12. Postpublished at 16:21 British Summer Time

    Tea: Worcs 358 v Essex 147-8

    Victoria Polley
    BBC Essex Sports Editor

This has been a difficult watch from an Essex point of view.

Robin Das has been the only batter to make over 20 and the key difference between the two sides’ innings has been partnerships.

When Worcestershire lost wickets yesterday, they were able to build partnerships – that’s what helped them to recover from 123-5 to 358 all out.

Essex haven’t been able to do the same and they’ve limped to the tea break. How long can Noah Thain remain at the crease?

  13. 50 runs

50 up for Derbyshirepublished at 16:20 British Summer Time

    Lancs 458 v Derbys 50-1

David Lloyd picks up two boundaries off Tom Bailey and then clips a single off his hips to bring up the fifty for Derbyshire in just the eighth over.

    He's up to a run-a-ball 27.

  14. Postpublished at 16:17 British Summer Time

    Lancs 458 v Derbys 41-1

Derbyshire have rattled along nicely, with 40 coming off the first six overs.

David Lloyd has faced a lot of the strike from James Anderson as he roars in for his fourth over.

He lets out a huge appeal as a pitched up fifth ball thuds into the opener's pads, but nothing doing. A leg bye.

Harry Came plays out the over with a defensive stroke.

  16. Tea at New Roadpublished at 16:15 British Summer Time

    Worcs 358 v Essex 147-8

The wickets have just kept flowing for Worcestershire today and they have Essex eight wickets down at tea.

Shane Snater was the last man to depart before the interval as Yadvinder Singh picked up his first wicket.

Team-mates Tom Taylor and Ben Allison have done a lot of the damage and been highly impressive - Essex have had no answer to them.

Just two more wickets needs for the Pears after tea. Skipper Brett D'Oliveira will be pondering his plans for a potential follow-on as he tucks in no doubt.

  17. Tea at The Ovalpublished at 16:13 British Summer Time

    Surrey 265-4 v Yorkshire 255

    Surrey are dominating this contest.

All six of the top order have contributed with the bat so far, none more so than Australian Kurtis Patterson who made 85 on his County Championship debut.

Ben Foakes is 39 not out and Jason Roy is unbeaten on 26 as Surrey go into the tea break 10 runs in front of Yorkshire with six wickets remaining.

It could be a long evening in the field for the visitors unless they can find a wicket or two soonish.

  18. Postpublished at 16:11 British Summer Time

    Surrey 261-4 v Yorkshire 255

This might sum up how things are going for Yorkshire... Ben Foakes takes a big inside edge off Jordan Thompson and it somehow avoids crashing into the stumps.

And to add insult to injury, it runs away for four as Foakes moves onto 35.

  19. Tea at Edgbastonpublished at 16:11 British Summer Time

    Warwicks 194 v Hants 300 & 44-1

Hampshire have taken this game by the scruff of the neck and go to tea 150 runs in front.

Fletcha Middleton has been the main tormentor for the Bears and is unbeaten on 33, while Nick Gubbins has four.

  20. 'An all-too familiar sound'published at 16:08 British Summer Time

    Lancs 458 v Derbys 33-1

    Scott Read
    BBC Radio Lancashire

Anderson got a big standing ovation, and Jimmy Anderson gets his first wicket now.

The smile on Anderson's face, he strikes back and returns with a beauty. The amount of times we've seen that type of dismissal from him.

Sir James Anderson picks up his first of the summer, an all-too familiar sound for him.
