  1. WICKET Pretorius c O'Riordan b Stewart 19published at 11:10 18 May

    Somerset 460-8 v Kent

    An entertaining cameo is over.

Migael Pretorius drives and gets a thick outside edge past slip for four and picks up four more glanced to fine leg.

But Grant Stewart gets him this time as the Somerset number nine drives from the crease and edges to a diving Marcus O'riordan at first slip.

    Josh Davey to bat next.

  2. WICKET: Mahmood c Lees b Potts 46published at 11:09 18 May

    Lancashire 357 v Durham

And Lancashire's innings lasts just two more overs, with Saqib Mahmood holing out to mid-on off Matthew Potts.

Mahmood had just blazed a boundary and was looking for another to bring up his half-century, but miscued it straight into the hands of Alex Lees.

Now time to get his bowling shoes on as Durham prepare to begin their reply...

  3. Postpublished at 11:09 18 May

    Surrey 213 v Worcs 114-7

Joe Leach and Brett D'Oliveira trade singles off Dan Worrall to take the gap down to double digits.

But batting remains a tough occupation here as Worrall gets good bounce and movement a fraction outside off stump.

Jordan Clark beats Brett D'Oliveira outside off stump.

There's enough width later in the over for the Pears captain to leave.

  4. Under way at Chelmsfordpublished at 11:05 18 May

    Essex v Warwickshire 311-6

Ed Barnard and Michael Burgess both return to the middle at Chelmsford with unbeaten centuries, having already shared a partnership of 200-plus to wrest the initiative in Warwickshire's favour.

It's already a record seventh-wicket stand for the county against Essex - could even the overall Bears record of 289, made by Ian Bell and Tony Frost at Horsham two decades ago, be under threat this morning?

Shane Snater sends down the first over of the day, with the Bears picking up another three runs to add to their total.

  5. Maximum batting points for Somersetpublished at 11:04 18 May

    Somerset 450-7 v Kent

    Well, that didn't take long.

The first over of the day goes for 10 runs.

Lewis Gregory is forward and across, tapping a single into the on side.

Migael Pretorius barely advances from the crease as he drives Beyers Swanepoel through cover for four.

He gets a single off the fourth ball and Gregory clips the last ball of the over through mid on for four.

That's 450 runs in 97 overs. Bowling is a tough gig here.

  6. Postpublished at 11:03 18 May

    Surrey 213 v Worcs 112-7

A good first over from Jordan Clark, bowling a good length just outside the off stump.

    Brett D'Oliveira defends.

He tries to work a single into the on side but doesn't clear the field.

    Maiden over.

  7. Stokes launches day's play at Blackpoolpublished at 11:03 18 May

    Lancashire 351-9 v Durham

Honours relatively even after the first day at Stanley Park, although Lancashire - given their recent batting fragility - will probably be the happier of the two sides.

Saqib Mahmood, who provided some entertainment for the Blackpool crowd last night with a buccaneering 40 not out, resumes alongside Nathan Lyon, who has five to his name.

Ben Stokes was handed the ball for the first over of the day as Durham try to wrap up this innings quickly, conceding a single to Mahmood.

  8. Day Two begins at Tauntonpublished at 11:00 18 May

    Somerset 440-7 v Kent

The hosts only need 10 more runs in the next 14 overs for maximum batting points and it surely won't take that long, given the batting fluency we've seen for most of the game to date.

It's also doubtful Somerset will be content with 450 on a pitch as good as this one.

Somerset captain Lewis Gregory (26 not out) will be on strike first up this morning, facing Beyers Swanepoel.

His batting partner at the non-striker's end is Migael Pretorius, on four.

  9. Play resumes at the Ovalpublished at 11:00 18 May

    Surrey 213 v Worcs 112-7

We lost a tiny number of overs last night when the light faded but this game has moved on so quickly that there's plenty of time left for a result.

17 wickets fell on day one and Surrey's first innings total was dominated by a stand of 148 between Ollie Pope (63) and Dan Lawrence - who made 84.

Worcestershire captain Brett D'Oliveira survived a Surrey onslaught before stumps on Day One and will face the first ball of Day Two on 22 not out.

Jordan Clark is ready to bowl.

Joe Leach is yet to get off the mark at the other end.

Any kind of lead will be useful here, where we've seen seam and swing.

The Pears need to get as close as they can.

  10. Play begins at Trent Bridgepublished at 11:00 18 May

    Notts 212-9 v Hants

Dane Paterson had one ball to negotiate against Kyle Abbott, who dismissed Dillon Pennington with the fifth delivery of the final over last night to leave Nottinghamshire 212-9.

Still, that's not a bad response after the home side, put in to bat by Hampshire yesterday morning, collapsed to 50-6.

The question is, how many more runs can Notts eke out against this Hampshire attack - and can Paterson stick around long enough to help Lyndon James, 92 not out overnight, progress to his hundred?
