  1. wicket

    WICKET O'Riordan b Pretorius 20published at 17:40 British Summer Time 18 May

    Somerset 554 v Kent 55-3

    Migael Pretorius strikes!

Marcus O'Riordan misses an attempted drive and is off balance as the ball keeps low and thuds into middle and off.

    Joe Denly is in next.

  2. Postpublished at 17:39 British Summer Time 18 May

    Surrey 213 & 265-5 v Worcs 128 - lead by 350

A slice of luck for Jordan Clark, who drives at Matthew Waite and gets an inside edge past the stumps to fine leg for four.

Four runs to Dan Lawrence - cut to cover point from the crease off Joe Leach at the other end.

    The lead rises to 350.

  3. wicket

WICKET: Davies c Harmer b Cook 0published at 17:38 British Summer Time 18 May

    Essex 162 v Warwickshire 397 & 3-1

From a personal perspective, Alex Davies' decision not to enforce the follow-on at Chelmsford has just backfired in a big way.

Davies is out for a second-ball duck, playing a rather untidy shot to Sam Cook and Simon Harmer gobbles up the catch at second slip.

There are 17.1 overs left tonight as Warwickshire bid to extend their 235 lead into something out of their hosts' reach.

  4. 'Dawson has entertained this crowd'published at 17:36 British Summer Time 18 May

    Notts 235 v Hants 276

    Dave Bracegirdle
    BBC Radio Nottingham commentator

A real old shame for Liam Dawson who got a century at this ground way back in 2008.

A wonderful player, he's entertained this crowd.

  5. Surrey reach 250 five downpublished at 17:34 British Summer Time 18 May

    Surrey 213 & 250-5 v Worcs 128 - lead by 334

Dan Lawrence takes Surrey to 250 in the 70th over with a back foot drive through extra cover off Ben Gibbon.

The lead is a daunting 335.

  6. wicket

WICKET: Dawson c Harrison b Pennington 95published at 17:32 British Summer Time 18 May

    Notts 235 v Hants 276

Well, now we know that Tom Prest won't bat - because the fall of the ninth Hampshire wicket has ended their innings.

Liam Dawson misses out on a century, carving Dillon Pennington into the hands of the fielder at deep third in a very similar dismissal to that of James Fuller.

So Nottinghamshire have restricted the deficit to just 41, with Olly Stone taking 4-62 and Pennington finishing with 3-70.

  7. Postpublished at 17:31 British Summer Time 18 May

    Somerset 554 v Kent 51-2

    Maiden over from Craig Overton.

Migael Pretorius is in the attack and Marcus O'Riordan miscues and bottom edges the ball to keeper James Rew on the bounce.

    A no-ball follows.

O'Riordan forces the ball off the back foot through wide long off and into the Andy Caddick Pavilion for four.

Two more driven to extra cover and that's the Kent 50 in the 13th over.

  8. wicket

WICKET: Abbott lbw b Harrison 2published at 17:28 British Summer Time 18 May

    Notts 235 v Hants 275-8

Nottinghamshire are fighting back here as Calvin Harrison claims his first wicket, with Kyle Abbott stuck in his crease and palpably leg before.

Liam Dawson is still there on 95, but in danger of running out of partners now - especially as it isn't clear yet whether Tom Prest will actually bat.

    Hampshire lead by 40.

  9. Postpublished at 17:27 British Summer Time 18 May

    Surrey 213 & 249-5 v Worcs 128 - lead by 334

Matthew Waite bowls a full length and Dan Lawrence drives through cover for four.

A hint of late swing there but still a well-controlled shot.

Lawrence gets a single off the last ball of the over, to mid wicket.

    17 overs left tonight.

  10. ESSEX ALL OUT FOR 162published at 17:26 British Summer Time 18 May

    Essex 162 v Warwickshire 397

So now what does Bears captain Alex Davies do? His side have dismissed Essex for a paltry 162 in 51.1 overs.

The final wicket to fall was that of Jamie Porter, misjudging the line and leaving a ball alone from Rob Yates that shot into his stumps.

Yates finishes with 3-27, with Che Simmons taking 3-12 in seven overs on debut and Warwickshire lead by 235.

  11. Postpublished at 17:24 British Summer Time 18 May

    Surrey 213 & 244-5 v Worcs 128 - lead by 329

Jordan Clark jabs down a slightly short ball from Matthew Waite and guides the ball safely to third man for four.

A couple more runs come off the Ben Gibbon over at the other end.

The sun is shining at the Oval and batting has been made to look serene.

  12. wicket

WICKET: Fuller c sub (Hayes) b Pennington 13published at 17:23 British Summer Time 18 May

    Notts 235 v Hants 270-7

Dillon Pennington has his second wicket now as James Fuller holes out to the substitute fielder at deep third.

A short ball from Pennington and Fuller unveils a shot from his T20 locker there, but doesn't get away with it.

Kyle Abbott is the new man in, with Hampshire 35 ahead and Liam Dawson on 92.

  13. Postpublished at 17:21 British Summer Time 18 May

    Somerset 554 v Kent 42-2

A good start to Marcus O'Riordan's innings.

He gets four with a glorious straight drive off the bowling of Josh Davey and four more through cover off the back foot at the other end, facing Craig Overton.

He has 14 off just 15 balls and is batting with a fluency that defies the scoreboard pressure.

  14. 'More about survival for Pears'published at 17:19 British Summer Time 18 May

    Surrey 213 & 237-5 v Worcs 128 - lead by 322

    Frank Watson
    BBC Hereford & Worcester

Worcestershire are starring down the barrel. They're going to have to chase something huge for a nominal victory target. It'll be more about survival.

And I think we'll see this pitch throw a bit more help than it appears at the moment when Surrey bowl again.

  15. 50 runs

50 for Dan Lawrencepublished at 17:18 British Summer Time 18 May

    Surrey 213 & 237-5 v Worcs 128 - lead by 322

Dan Lawrence has lost his fifth wicket batting partner but continues to look in great touch.

He gets three runs clipped through square leg off a loose ball from Matthew Waite and now he has a 50 in each innings of this match.

This one comes in 84 balls with five fours.

  16. wicket

WICKET: Cook c Mousley b Yates 6published at 17:16 British Summer Time 18 May

    Essex 160-9 v Warwickshire 397

Second wicket for Rob Yates - and Essex are nine down.

Sam Cook is gone, prodding the ball into the hands of short leg and that brings last man Jamie Porter to the crease.

Another 88 needed for the home side to avoid the follow-on, so you'd assume Warwickshire will at least get the option of enforcing it.

  17. wicket

WICKET Smith b Gibbon 72published at 17:16 British Summer Time 18 May

    Surrey 213 & 234-5 v Worcs 128 - lead by 319

A fine innings from Jamie Smith ends with one of his loosest strokes.

Ben Gibbon angles the ball in from just back of a length and it beats an airy drive to knock out off stump.

    Jordan Clark is in next.

  18. Batting point for Hampshirepublished at 17:09 British Summer Time 18 May

    Notts 235 v Hants 252-6

Liam Dawson secures the first batting bonus point of this game and he does it in emphatic fashion, lifting Calvin Harrison over the midwicket fence for his first six.

Dawson is now 80 not out, with Hampshire building a handy advantage of 17 so far.

  19. wicket

    WICKET Bell-Drummond c Rew b C Overton 4published at 17:09 British Summer Time 18 May

    Somerset 554 v Kent 28-2

Craig Overton strikes again and this time he's got the Kent captain out.

Daniel Bell-Drummond drives at a full ball on the line of off stump and that's a brilliant diving take from Somerset keeper James Rew.

    Marcus O'Riordan is in next.

  20. Division Two latestpublished at 17:09 British Summer Time 18 May

Yorkshire have just taken a fifth Sussex wicket at Hove with Ben Coad getting captain John Simpson cheaply.

Sussex are 140-5 with a lead of 95. Can they stretch that towards 200?

Derbyshire batter Brooke Guest has reached his half-century against Northants - they're 125-2 but still trailing by 297.

Gloucestershire leg-spinner Ed Middleton has just picked up two Leicestershire wickets in two balls to leave them 82-3 in reply to the huge 706-6 declared. He'll have to wait until his next over to try and take the hat-trick.

And they're still off for rain between Glamorgan and Middlesex.
