  2. Postpublished at 15:42 18 May

Lovely shot from Jordan Cox, who beats the outstretched hand of bowler Will Rhodes on the follow through and drives down the ground for four.

  3. Postpublished at 15:39 18 May

    Surrey 213 & 145-4 v Worcs 128 - lead by 230

This has been a decent fightback from the Pears, who have taken all four of the Surrey wickets to date in this session.

Dan Lawrence is a bit tucked up by Matthew Waite as he jabs the ball down safely to mid on.

    Maiden over.

  4. Postpublished at 15:39 18 May

    Lancashire 357 v Durham 185-5

No further success for Lancashire since the dismissal of Ben Stokes and they've just brought back George Balderson, who captured a wicket in the first over of his initial spell.

The medium-pacer fizzes one just past the outside edge of Graham Clark, but Durham are continuing to tick along nicely as we approach tea.

Clark is into double figures now with 12, while David Bedingham is on 89, within sight of what would be his third century in four games.

  5. WICKET: Pepper c Burgess b Hannon-Dalby 10published at 15:36 18 May

    Essex 77-6 v Warwickshire 397

Oliver Hannon-Dalby has Michael Pepper in two minds as he withdraws his bat at the last moment.

Pepper drives to cover and that's a fine diving stop by Che Simmons.

Out! Michael Pepper has edged behind and Michael Burgess takes his third catch behind the stumps.

Loose shot, rooted to the crease and wafting away from the body.

The follow on is certainly on the cards here.

    Simon Harmer is in next.

  6. Postpublished at 15:31 18 May

    Notts 235 v Hants 148-5

Nottinghamshire have turned to spin for the first time in this innings as they strive to break the partnership between Liam Dawson and Keith Barker.

The pair have almost doubled Hampshire's total with a stand of 71 so far, so it's up to Calvin Harrison to try and make an impact with his leg-spin.

Harrison has already played his part with the bat, helping Lyndon James to haul Notts out of a hole yesterday - now they need wickets.

None in Harrison's first over, but he does start off with a maiden.

  7. Postpublished at 15:30 18 May

    Surrey 213 & 143-4 v Worcs 128 - lead by 228

More runs for Dan Lawrence, this time advancing to a slightly over pitched ball from Joe Leach and driving through mid off for four.

    Single off the second ball.

Jamie Smith drives and gets four more edged wide of the two slips.

13 runs off the over in total.

  8. Postpublished at 15:27 18 May

    Essex 75-5 v Warwickshire 397

Michael Pepper opens the face and guides the ball from Will Rhodes safely to third man for two.

Oliver Hannon-Dalby is back in the attack, replacing the impressive Che Simmons, who took two wickets in two balls a few minutes ago.

Jordan Cox picks up a single first ball.

Two more runs to Pepper driven through cover.

Shot! Pepper drives sweetly through extra cover for four.

  9. Gloucs declare on record 706-6published at 15:25 18 May

Leics v Gloucs 706-6 dec - tea, day two

Leicestershire are put out of their misery as Gloucestershire go past 700 and declare. It's their record first-class score surpassing the 695-9 they made against Middlesex 20 years ago.

Plenty of expensive figures for the bowlers including England's Rehan Ahmed who took 2-153 off 28.4 overs.

    They'll take an early tea.

  10. Postpublished at 15:21 18 May

    Surrey 213 & 132-4 v Worcs 128 - lead by 217

Dan Lawrence is not perturbed by the drop and pulls Nathan Smith comfortably behind square for four.

Six runs off the over in total.

  11. Lawrence dropped on fourpublished at 15:19 18 May

    Surrey 213 & 126-4 v Worcs 128 - lead by 211

Dan Lawrence is off the mark with a slice of luck as he's a little stuck on the crease by Nathan Smith and squared up as he edges wide of a diving first slip for four.

Four runs to Jamie Smith with a lovely flowing drive through mid off at the other end off Matthew Waite.

    Single off the fourth ball.

Dan Lawrence miscues and is dropped at deep mid wicket by Kashif Ali!

He gets away with a single.

That could be a big moment.

  12. 'What a debut Che Simmons is having'published at 15:18 18 May

    Essex 65-5 v Warwickshire 397

Matt Critchley prodded at that one and is caught by Michael Burgess just behind the stumps.

What a debut Che Simmons is having.

He's definitely made a case to stay in this Warwickshire team with that extra bit of pace and not unwilling to go for the short ball as well, which he's bowled quite nicely from what I've seen so far today.

  13. 50 partnership for Dawson and Barkerpublished at 15:17 18 May

    Notts 235 v Hants 129-5

Just like the Nottinghamshire lower middle order rallied on day one, Liam Dawson and Keith Barker have staged a counter-attack for the visitors.

Barker has just brought up the 50 partnership, drilling Dane Paterson for a straight four and he's on 15, while Dawson has emerged from his shell to reach 35.

Hampshire still 106 behind Notts' first-innings total.

  14. Pepper survivespublished at 15:12 18 May

    Essex 65-5 v Warwickshire 397

Three slips, leg slip and a point in for Che Simmons.

Michael Pepper drives into mid on for two and the hat trick is averted.

Phew. Just the large innings deficit to worry about now.

  15. WICKET Foakes LBW b Waite 3published at 15:11 18 May

    Surrey 213 & 115-4 v Worcs 128 - lead by 200

The lead may be 200 but Surrey are starting to lose wickets in rather a hurry.

Ben Foakes is the latest to go, playing around a straightening ball from Matthew Waite and being struck on the knee roll in front of the stumps.

Dan Lawrence is in next and he was Surrey's top scorer in the first innings.

  16. WICKET Critchley c Burgess b Simmons 0published at 15:10 18 May

  17. WICKET Browne c Burgess b Simmons 19published at 15:09 18 May

    Essex 63-4 v Warwickshire 397

Ed Barnard drops a bit short and Jordan Cox waits for it in the crease and strokes the ball through cover for four.

But Nick Browne is out! He feels for the ball outside off stump and edges behind to keeper Michael Burgess.

Quick ball on a length just outside off from Che Simmons, drawing out the error.

Matt Critchley is in at six for Essex.

  18. Postpublished at 15:06 18 May

    Lancashire 357 v Durham 162-5

Lancashire have handed the ball back to their opening bowlers, Saqib Mahmood and Will Williams as they look to force their advantage in the wake of Ben Stokes' early departure.

David Bedingham, unbeaten on 75, is the man they'd very much like to get rid of, having picked up three wickets so far during this afternoon session.

Graham Clark is out there alongside Bedingham, with three to his name.

  19. Big wicket for Yorkshirepublished at 15:04 18 May

Middlesex opener Mark Stoneman has been dismissed for 129 in their game against Glamorgan. Middlesex are 246-4 in their first innings and 63 in front.

Graeme van Buuren has become the third Gloucestershire batter to go to a century in their mammoth first innings at Leicestershire. 676-5 and on they bat.

Derbyshire are 48-1 replying to Northants' 422 all out.
