  1. Postpublished at 16:31 18 May

    Surrey 213 & 187-4 v Worcs 128 - lead by 272

Single to Dan Lawrence first ball.

Jamie Smith leans into a beautifully timed square drive for four runs.

The sun is out and batting looks a little more comfortable than it did this morning.

  2. Play resumes at the Ovalpublished at 16:28 18 May

    Surrey 213 & 182-4 v Worcs 128 - lead by 267

We might see a change in tactics from Surrey here.

This second innings began with careful accumulation in tough conditions as Joe Leach in particular bowled with good control and movement off the seam.

But now four down and with a healthy lead, might the hosts be tempted to accelerate and put the Pears back in tonight?

For the time being, Dan Lawrence (36) will face Yadvinder Singh from the Vauxhall End.

Jamie Smith is 38 not out at the other end.

  3. WICKET: Bedingham b Aspinwall 101published at 16:25 18 May

    Lancashire 357 v Durham 213-6

Sensational start to the evening session for Lancashire and Tom Aspinwall!

Just the second ball of the session, it's wide outside off stump and David Bedingham drags it back onto the wicket.

The Durham centurion is gone and that's a second wicket for Aspinwall. Sadly, those who were still queuing for the ice-cream van might have missed it!

Paul Coughlin is the new man in for the visitors.

  4. 'Barker has a fine record against Notts'published at 16:21 18 May

    Notts 235 v Hants 193-5

    Dave Bracegirdle
    BBC Radio Nottingham commentator

Keith Barker has a fine record against Nottinghamshire.

He's got a century on this ground from his Warwickshire days as well, eight years ago.

  5. 'A good session for Sussex'published at 16:18 18 May

    Sussex 150 & 123-3 v Yorkshire 195 - tea, day two

HoveImage source, Adrian Harms - BBC Sport

A very good session for Sussex losing just the one wicket whilst adding 98 runs and a lead of 78.

Tom Alsop is playing a fine anchor role his 52 coming off 132 deliveries, but he was given a life when bowled off a no-ball by Don Leech when he was on 39.

Together with Cheteshwar Pujara the pair added 74 for the third wicket, whilst the stylish James Coles has added an unbroken 43 for the fourth wicket.

This game looked to be heading for a two day finish just before lunch, but now we could be heading for an intriguing day tomorrow.

  6. Essex seven down at tea as Jordan Cox is bowledpublished at 16:14 18 May

    Essex 121-7 v Warwickshire 397

Jordan Cox rocks back and across as spinner Rob Yates drops short and lofts the ball over mid wicket for six!

We have a pause in play as Sam Hain has been hit on the head in the field. He was wearing a helmet at the time but there will surely be shock and soreness given how close he was at short leg.

And now he's out! Jordan Cox tries to reverse sweep Rob Yates and he's been bowled on 47.

    That's tea.

  7. Division Two latestpublished at 16:14 18 May

It's tea at Hove where Sussex have reached 123-3 in their second innings against Yorkshire. Tom Alsop is unbeaten on 52 and their lead is 78.

There's a rain delay between Glamorgan and Middlesex in Cardiff. Middlesex were 281-4 and leading by 98 when they came off.

Leicestershire have lost Marcus Harris as they reply to Gloucestershire's mammoth 706-6 declared. The Foxes are 27-1.

And Derbyshire have made a good start in their first innings. They're 85-1 against Northants after the visitors made 422.

  8. Tea at the Ovalpublished at 16:10 18 May

    Surrey 213 & 182-4 v Worcs 128 - lead by 267

The momentum has swung decisively in Surrey's favour despite losing four wickets in that session.

Two wickets fell to debutant Yadvinder Singh.

Perhaps crucially, Dan Lawrence was dropped at deep mid wicket by Kashif Ali when he was on four.

Lawrence is now 36 not out and Jamie Smith goes in to tea on 38.

  9. Tea at Trent Bridgepublished at 16:10 18 May

    Notts 235 v Hants 193-5

What a spirited fightback by Liam Dawson and Keith Barker - the experienced Hampshire pair have wrested back the initiative with this unbroken stand of 116.

Dawson has 59 and Barker 50 as they go to tea, with Hampshire closing in on that Notts first-innings total, now just 42 runs behind.

  10. 50 for Keith Barkerpublished at 16:08 18 May

    Notts 235 v Hants 192-5

And there we go - Keith Barker makes sure of following Liam Dawson to his half-century in the final over before tea.

Barker's gone for his shots in this 61-ball innings, which has included six fours and two sixes so far - and it's a nice way to mark his first appearance of the season.

  11. Postpublished at 16:07 18 May

    Essex 115-6 v Warwickshire 397

Jordan Cox picks up his seventh boundary driving Will Rhodes down the ground for four.

Simon Harmer half backs away from Rob Yates as he defends into the off side.

He gets two runs pushed out to deep cover.

Essex remain well adrift of the follow on target but a little calm has been restored since the hosts lost 3-14 this afternoon.

This seventh wicket partnership is worth 38.

  12. Tea at Tauntonpublished at 16:04 18 May

    Somerset 554 v Kent 8-1

It has been raining persistently at Taunton for most of this afternoon and an early tea interval has been called.

Don't count on a resumption in 20 minutes though!

  13. Tea at Blackpoolpublished at 16:02 18 May

    Lancashire 357 v Durham 213-5

David Bedingham remains unbeaten on 101 as Durham go to tea, having rebuilt after the loss of three wickets earlier in this afternoon session - including that of Ben Stokes for just two.

Stokes is one of three victims so far for Nathan Lyon, but Graham Clark, with 24 not out, has helped Bedingham to guide Durham out of difficulties at 145-5.

  14. Postpublished at 16:01 18 May

    Surrey 213 & 167-4 v Worcs 128 - lead by 252

That's not where Dan Lawrence intended as his cover drive off Ben Gibbon squirts the ball wide of the lone slip and through third man for four.

But it brings up a valuable 50 partnership for the fifth wicket in 83 balls. It's also the 250 lead.

    The Worcestershire frustration continues.

  15. 50 for Liam Dawsonpublished at 15:59 18 May

    Notts 235 v Hants 183-5

Liam Dawson (Hampshire)Image source, Rex Features

Liam Dawson raises his bat after steering Lyndon James to the rope, his second boundary of the over and one that takes him to his half-century.

It's been a superb effort from the Hampshire all-rounder, whose partnership with Keith Barker has now exceeded 100 and is starting to tilt the match back in his side's favour after those early Nottinghamshire wickets.

  16. 'Ever dependable Bedingham'published at 15:57 18 May

    Lancashire 357 v Durham 205-5

    Martin Emmerson
    BBC Radio Newcastle

South African batter David Bedingham has come to Durham's rescue once again. He is the man for the occasion, especially when they are in trouble.

He's just hit his third century of the season and his second in consecutive matches. His 100 today follows his 144 at Hampshire last weekend and the 138 he scored at Kidderminster in April.

There have been a couple of scares though. Tom Aspinwall tried to york him earlier and as he stumbled out of the crease, off balance, the Lancashire skipper Keaton Jennings had a shy at the stumps from first slip. Had he hit it would have been the end of the innings, but he missed by a fraction.

He was also dropped on the boundary just after making his half-century. George Balderson threw himself at the ball, but couldn't hold onto it as he hit the floor and it went for four.

Bedingham has helped restore calm after Durham lost three quick wickets early in the afternoon session. It is his 12th first-class century for the club and the 22nd of his career.

  17. Postpublished at 15:57 18 May

    Surrey 213 & 160-4 v Worcs 128 - lead by 245

Worcestershire have turned to the occasional leg spin of Kashif Ali, who starts with a short ball that Dan Lawrence paddles round the corner for three.

The next ball is fuller and Jamie Smith cuts past cover point for one.

Six runs off the over altogether.

  18. 100 for David Bedinghampublished at 15:53 18 May

    Lancashire 357 v Durham 205-5

What would Durham do without the runs of David Bedingham?

The South African turns Nathan Lyon for a single behind square to bring up his 22nd first-class hundred - and his third in the last four games.

Bedingham has played some beautiful shots in this 142-ball knock, including in the previous over when he pulled a George Balderson long-hop right out of the ground.

  19. Postpublished at 15:53 18 May

    Essex 104-6 v Warwickshire 397

More runs for Jordan Cox, who again drives Will Rhodes down the ground for four runs.

He gets a single off the fifth ball and Simon Harmer keeps the strike with one turned into the leg side.

Harmer plays the short ball well, helping it safely down to backward square for a single.

Jordan Cox moves to 26 with a well-timed cut to third man for four.

Four more cut to third man and that's the Essex 100 in the 35th.

Another four driven down the ground.

    Essex 90-6 v Warwickshire 397

    Clive Eakin

It's been a day that Warwickshire have enjoyed more than Essex so far.

Warwickshire will look to just plug away.
