  1. Surrey surge past 100published at 15:03 British Summer Time 18 May

    Surrey 213 & 106-2 v Worcs 128 - lead by 191

Lovely shot by Jamie Smith, driving Nathan Smith through cover with a flourish of the bat for four.

That takes Surrey past 100 in 36 overs.

Rory Burns gets four more clipped in front of square leg off Yadvinder Singh at the other end.

  2. Postpublished at 15:00 British Summer Time 18 May

    Essex 59-3 v Warwickshire 397

Che Simmons bowls to Jordan Cox, who pushes the ball into cover for no run.

The fifth ball is driven into deep cover for three, picked up just in front of the rope by Jacob Bethell.

  3. Postpublished at 14:58 British Summer Time 18 May

    Notts 235 v Hants 105-5

Hampshire have lifted the shackles a bit in the last few overs, with Liam Dawson advancing to 21, while Keith Barker has seven.

The visitors are still 130 behind though and, while the idea of Nottinghamshire gaining a first-innings lead looked rather unlikely for much of yesterday, it's now very much a possibility.

  4. Postpublished at 14:57 British Summer Time 18 May

    Surrey 213 & 98-2 v Worcs 128 - lead by 183

Nathan Smith bowls short and delivers a no ball that balloons over the head of Rory Burns.

Burns dabs to point and a diving stop prevents the run.

Burns keeps the strike with a dab to backward point for one off the last ball.

  5. 'A good, low catch'published at 14:51 British Summer Time 18 May

    Lancashire 357 v Durham 145-5

    Scott Read
    BBC Radio Lancashire

    Ben Stokes is gone.

Caught at slip, Nathan Lyon gets the edge over the England Test Match captain in this little mini duel.

Lyon's just turned Stokes around and the chance snaffled at the second slip and Durham lose another wicket.

It's a good low catch, finger tips almost touching the ground.

  9. wicket

WICKET: Stokes c Bruce b Lyon 2published at 14:47 British Summer Time 18 May

    Lancashire 357 v Durham 145-5

Ben Stokes is out to Nathan Lyon!

It was a fascinating tussle while it lasted - but it didn't last all that long. Just 16 balls as far as the England captain was concerned.

Australia spinner Lyon squares Stokes up and he edges a turning ball low to second slip, where Tom Bruce grabs it just off the ground.

It goes without saying that's a massive wicket for Lyon and Lancashire - and Durham suddenly look in real trouble.

  10. Could Stokes have one of his days?published at 14:47 British Summer Time 18 May

    Lancashire 357 v Durham 145-4

    Martin Emmerson
    BBC Radio Newcastle

I do worry that if Ben Stokes decides to have one of his days we could be in the firing line here.

His last game for Durham was at Lord's and he didn't get any runs in that game.

The match before he scored 161 at Worcester in 2022 and he hit a century in 64 balls which is the fastest for the club. He hit 17 sixes which is the new English record and he also scored 147 runs in the morning session which was a new English record as well and he wasn't even batting at the start of the day's play.

  11. Postpublished at 14:46 British Summer Time 18 May

    Surrey 213 & 93-2 v Worcs 128 - lead by 178

Yadvinder Singh gets the ball to shape away from Jamie Smith.

The next ball is a bit straighter and whipped into the leg side for a couple of runs.

  12. Postpublished at 14:39 British Summer Time 18 May

    Surrey 213 & 90-2 v Worcs 128 - lead by 175

Rory Burns is batting confidently and picks up two more fours off the bowling of Yadvinder Singh.

Both strokes are clipped off the pads. One through mid wicket and one through square leg.

    He's on 59.

  13. wicket

WICKET: Brown c Young b Stone 9published at 14:37 British Summer Time 18 May

    Notts 235 v Hants 77-5

Olly Stone grabs his third of the innings and Hampshire are five down now.

Ben Brown is the man to depart, caught in the slips and Hampshire sink deeper into trouble.

Still no sign of Tom Prest as Keith Barker strides out to the middle.

  14. wicket

WICKET: Robinson c Bell b Lyon 0published at 14:34 British Summer Time 18 May

    Lancashire 357 v Durham 139-4

Ollie Robinson goes for a second-ball duck as Nathan Lyon picks up his second wicket!

Robinson is snapped up neatly by George Bell at short-leg off the spinner - another one-handed catch - and that brings a certain Ben Stokes to the middle.

Stokes up against Lyon - surely we've seen that before somewhere?

  15. wicket

WICKET Pope c Smith b Gibbon 1published at 14:32 British Summer Time 18 May

    Surrey 213 & 82-2 v Worcs 128 - lead by 167

Two wickets in two overs for the Pears!

Ollie Pope glances a leg side ball from Ben Gibbon to a diving Nathan Smith at leg slip, only just employed in that position.

That's the end of the 30th over and Jamie Smith will join Rory Burns in the middle.

  16. Postpublished at 14:31 British Summer Time 18 May

    Notts 235 v Hants 73-4

Attritional stuff for Hampshire since lunch... they've added just 11 runs to the total and five of those came in the last over, bowled by Lyndon James.

Liam Dawson and Ben Brown have five apiece and the visitors still trail by 162.

  17. 50 runs

50 for Rory Burnspublished at 14:29 British Summer Time 18 May

    Surrey 213 & 80-1 v Worcs 128 - lead by 165

Ollie Pope sees out the Yadvinder Singh over and Rory Burns flicks Ben Gibbon off his pads for one to reach 50.

That's his third 50 in a productive season thus far in which he also has one century, made on this ground against Hampshire.

    79 balls and four fours.

  18. 50 for David Bedinghampublished at 14:27 British Summer Time 18 May

    Lancashire 357 v Durham 133-3

Classic on-drive by David Bedingham, whipping a half-volley from Tom Aspinwall to the fence to bring up his half-century from 86 balls.

Bedingham's been in great nick so far this season and that's the fourth time he's passed 50 - converting two of them into centuries as well.

  19. wicket

WICKET Sibley c Roderick b Singh 29published at 14:25 British Summer Time 18 May

    Surrey 213 & 79-1 v Worcs 128 - lead by 164

Rory Burns leaves Ben Gibbon outside off stump and remains on 49.

Dom Sibley gets a ball that keeps a little low on a length from Yadvinder Singh but pushes it out safely.

Out! That's his first Championship wicket for the Pears!

Angled in with a hint of away movement.

Sibley is forward to block and edges the ball to the Worcestershire keeper Gareth Roderick.

    Ollie Pope is in next.

  20. 'Heavy roller has not affected the pitch'published at 14:24 British Summer Time 18 May

    Notts 235 v Hants 68-4

    Kevan James
    BBC Radio Solent commentator

It looks as though the heavy roller hasn't had a great effect on this pitch.

There's still enough in it for the bowlers. Some wickets you see the heavy roller comes on and within hour or two and the wicket's dead, it's changed.

But this has not changed that much, it's just the situation that Hampshire are facing that's causing the problems as much as anything else.
