WICKETpublished at 13:49 BST 25 September

    Wells lbw Crane 78 (Glamorgan 265 v Lancashire 205-4)

Glamorgan's Mason Crane has definitely been in the groove since lunch and has his second of the afternoon.

Crane gets one to turn in nicely and it raps Luke Wells on the pads in front of the stumps and up goes the umpire's finger.

Wells was the prize wicket for Glamorgan having made 78.

It's nicely poised now with Lancs trailing by 60, with six wickets intact.

  2. Postpublished at 13:48 BST 25 September

    Essex 52-0 v Somerset 433

Paul Walter takes the hosts to 50 in the 12th over with four runs clipped on the front foot through mid wicket off Jake Ball.

Good control at the other end from Archie Vaughan, who has started his spell with two successive maidens.

  3. wicket

WICKETpublished at 13:46 BST 25 September

    Burns c Sundar b Wheal 4 (Hants 248 v Surrey 147 & 9-1)

Lovely ball from Brad Wheal which just peels away from Rory Burns's bat and takes the edge, Washington Sundar falls gently to his left to take the catch.

  4. Postpublished at 13:44 BST 25 September

    Notts 124-2 v Warwicks 258

Joe Clarke is beaten by Michael Booth trying to defend outside the off stump.

Shot! Picking out the gap to drive through extra cover for four.

The runs are coming a little more easily than they did this morning.

A straight drive goes a bit wrong and sends the ball into Clarke's boot.

  5. wicket

WICKETpublished at 13:37 BST 25 September

    Buchake c Patlel b Holland 35 (Northants 84-2 v Leics 429)

    Leicestershire have their first wicket.

A patient knock of 35 from Arush Buchake is ended by opposition captain Ian Holland, who draws the opener to defend from the crease and an edge goes low to Rishi Patel at first slip.

    James Sales is in next.

  6. Postpublished at 13:36 BST 25 September

    Notts 117-2 v Warwicks 258

An extravagant leave outside off from Haseeb Hameed, bringing his bat inside the line and raising it up like a periscope.

He knows how vital his innings is to his team.

Hameed has one hand off the bat to Michael Booth's next ball, running the ball away wide of the slips to deep third for four.

That ball was on to him a bit quicker than he expected.

  7. 1,000 runs for Libbypublished at 13:36 BST 25 September

    Worcs 123 & 15-0 v Sussex 350

A single from Jake Libby off Jaydev Umadkat brings up his four figures for the season which is quite an effort in a relegated team.

It is a fact generously acknowledged by the Sussex fielders who give a gentle round of applause.

Not bad for Worcs to have Libby over 1,000 runs and Tom Taylor as Division One's leading wicket taker as they contemplate a season in the second tier next summer.

  8. Postpublished at 13:34 BST 25 September

    Essex 40-0 v Somerset 433

Paul Walter tries to work Jake Ball away leg side for runs but the line is too straight.

The last ball of the over has width on a full length and Walter runs the ball to deep third for four.

The runs are flowing somewhat. Five an over thus far.

Change of bowling. Spinner Archie Vaughan is coming on.

  9. Postpublished at 13:31 BST 25 September

    Notts 110-2 v Warwicks 258

Joe Clarke brings up the 50 partnership (in 90 balls) with Haseeb Hameed with fours runs clipped through mid wicket off the bowling of Michael Booth.

There's just a hint of conditions easing since this morning but have they really? There's so much at stake in this innings...

  10. wicket

WICKETpublished at 13:30 BST 25 September

    Bell c Ingram b Crane 45 (Glamorgan 265 v Lancashire 190-3)

George Bell had made good progress before lunch but he doesn't last too long into the afternoon session as Mason Crane has him caught at slip by Colin Ingram for 45.

A first bowling point in the bag for the hosts as Lancs trail by 75.

  11. Postpublished at 13:29 BST 25 September

    Essex 31-0 v Somerset 433

Paul Walter is forward to Craig Overton to defend into the off side.

Much better line and length from the Somerset bowler.

The fourth ball is a bit leg side, back of a length and tapped away for four.

Hmm. Curse of the commentator. The fifth ball is full, wide of the off peg and carved through point for four more.

  12. Postpublished at 13:26 BST 25 September

    Notts 103-2 v Warwicks 258

Haseeb Hameed is away this afternoon, reaching out to a wide ball from Ed Barnard to drive through extra cover for one.

Joe Clarke is back on his toes to nudge the sixth ball to deep third for a couple.

Every run is being applauded by the Notts faithful, no doubt hoping to applaud a first Championship trophy for the club since 2010.

  13. Back under way at Southamptonpublished at 13:25 BST 25 September

    Hants 248 v Surrey 147 & 1-0

A single from the first ball of Kyle Abbott's opening over off the bat of Rory Burns and Surrey are up and running in their second dig.

  14. Afternoon session begins at Trent Bridgepublished at 13:22 BST 25 September

    Notts 100-2 v Warwicks 258

    Game on.

Haseeb Hameed takes guard against all rounder Ed Barnard on 54 not out. He's played a gem of an innings in tough conditions to date.

Joe Clarke is at the other end on 17.

    Northants 68-1 v Leics 429

Four runs to Arush Buchake - who scoops a leg side ball from Logan van Beek away through mid wicket.

The ball was in the air for a little while but lands safely.

He gets away with an edge between keeper and first slip going forward to block - and the ball runs away for four more.

  17. Postpublished at 13:18 BST 25 September

    Essex 20-0 v Somerset 433

    Expensive start for Craig Overton.

Full and just outside off stump, allowing Dean Elgar two successive flowing drives through long off for fours.

Jake Ball will bowl the next over - to Paul Walter, who defends into the off side.

The fourth ball drifts into the pads and is flicked away for four through mid wicket.

Essex looking fairly comfortable at present.

  18. Postpublished at 13:13 BST 25 September

    Northants 57-1 v Leics 429
