  14. 'A well balanced game'published at 12:53 BST

    Lunch: Notts 100-2 v Warwickshire 258

    Melinda Farrell
Sports broadcaster on BBC Radio Nottinghamshire

Warwickshire have done a pretty good job in taking a couple of wickets and stemming the tide.

They've have made it hard for Nottinghamshire.

The Warwickshire faithful will hope that they can keep chipping away.

I feel like we have a well balanced game.

  15. Essex need to 'bat long' for bonus pointspublished at 12:50 BST

    Lunch: Essex 8-0 v Somerset 433

    Nick Gledhill
    BBC Essex

On a pitch which offered a little less to the seamers today, Somerset, led by Lewis Goldsworthy’s patient even hundred, built a platform that should ensure they get at least a draw to ensure third place.

Goldsworthy’s third century was complemented superbly by Craig Overton’s 60 from 70 balls in a seventh wicket stand of 98.

It was Overton’s second fifty of the season against Essex after his crucial knock that helped Somerset secure victory in the reverse fixture.

Charlie Bennett, in his first championship outing with the ball, took 3-73 and the ever reliable Jamie Porter 3-66.

Essex now need to bat long for batting points and a position that guards them against any possibility of defeat.

HANTS 248 ALL OUTpublished at 12:41 BST

    Sundar c Sykes b Chahar 56 (Hants 248 v Surrey 147)

And Hants miss out on the batting point after Washington Sundar picks out Ollie Sykes on the midwicket boundary.

That is a bit of a blunder from Sundar to be honest as, after carefully protecting the tail to get to what could be a crucial batting point at 250, he has slapped a low full toss to the boundary rider.

Sykes does well to scurry round and take a comfortable catch but Sundar will be kicking himself that he didn't try and take a less risky two.

Hants lost their last seven this morning for 94 runs and lead by 101.
