  1. 'A magnificent season for Simpson'published at 11:53 BST

    Worcs 123 v Sussex 327-8

    Adrian Harms
    BBC Sussex

It's been a magnificent season for John Simpson. Four centuries for him this season and I loved the way all the Worcestershire fielders joined in the applause as well.

    A super knock.

  2. 50 runs

50 partnership for Hantspublished at 11:52 BST

    Hants 215-6 v Surrey 147

Washington Sundar (32) and James Fuller (15) are more than capable with the bat and have steadied a listing ship putting on a half century for the seventh wicket.

Surrey's resurgent charge, which saw them fire out three wickets in no time this morning, has rather run out of steam as Hampshire lead by 68 runs.

    WICKETpublished at 11:51 BST

    McCann b Bamber 1 (Notts 57-2 v Warwicks 258)

Freddie McCann survives an LBW shout from Ethan Bamber but he's gone this time.

Great delivery from round the wicket, angled in to beat the bat and knock out the middle stump.

    Joe Clarke is in next.

  4. Postpublished at 11:49 BST

    Northants 15-0 v Leics 429

Leicestershire captain Ian Holland is into his fourth over, conceding just a single.

The run rate has been pegged down to two an over.

Chris Wright is leg side to Arush Buchake, who tucks the ball away for a single.

Lewis McManus drives and misses, as the ball fizzes past his inside edge.

  5. wicket

    WICKETpublished at 11:48 BST

    Bean lbw b Raine 1 (Yorks 9-1 v Durham 346)

That has been a difficult innings with one run from 18 balls and 29 minutes. And Finlay Bean might count himself lucky he lasted that long.

Ben Raine has had a couple of shouts that looked every bit as good as that one but finally he gets the verdict.

That one, delivered from around the wicket, perhaps straightened just a touch as it approached the pad and the finger went up.

  6. 'Risk and reward from Booth'published at 11:47 BST

    Notts 56-1 v Warwicks 258

    Richard Wilford
    BBC Radio WM commentator

Of this Bears attack Michael Booth is the one who is gonna hit the wicket hard, he's the one that is going bowl that sorter length and bring a bit hostility to it.

He'll concede some runs as he's done but it's risk and reward. He gets the wicket and just opens up one end.

  7. 100 runs

100 for Simpsonpublished at 11:45 BST

    Worcs 123 v Sussex 306-8

A flick off his legs not quite timed but John Simpson gets enough on it to send it to fine leg boundary.

It brings up a fourth first class century this season for the Sussex skipper and has taken 138 balls with 18 fours.

  8. wicket

    WICKETpublished at 11:43 BST

    Slater c Davies b Booth 22 (Notts 56-1 v Warwicks 258)

The Bears have a breakthrough in the 20th over.

Ben Slater looks to force a slightly short ball from Michael Booth away off the back foot and he edges to keeper and captain Alex Davies.

Freddie McCann bats at three for Notts.

  9. 450 up for Middlesexpublished at 11:42 BST

    Middlesex 450-7 v Glos

They have just missed out on maximum batting points but Middlesex reach 450 in 113 overs.

Leus du Plooy is eight away from a double century and presumably if he reaches that milestone his team won't bat too much longer.

The most recent wicket to fall was not one Zafar Gohar will want to watch back.

He chased a wide delivery from Graeme van Buuren and managed to chop it back all the way onto his stumps - quite a feat!

  10. Postpublished at 11:42 BST

    Notts 56-0 v Warwicks 258

Haseeb Hameed goes back to Ed Barnard, running the ball to deep third for two to take Notts to 50.

A single off the third ball and Ben Slater glances a leg side ball fine for four.

Notts are within 250 runs of the title. They can clinch it if they make 300 within 110 overs.

  11. 'This is a decent batting pitch'published at 11:40 BST

    Essex v Somerset 401-7

    Anthony Gibson
    BBC Radio Somerset

Pitches have been a bit of a problem this summer, there has been a lot of pretty dead pitches elsewhere, but this is a decent batting pitch.

  12. Somerset pass 400 at Chelmsfordpublished at 11:39 BST

    Essex v Somerset 401-7

Jack Leach is forward to Simon Harmer, pushing the spinner into the off side.

He gets a top edge sweeping the fourth ball, which lands safely and Leach runs tow.

That's the innings 400 in the 114th over.

  13. Postpublished at 11:39 BST

    Yorks 9-0 v Durham 346

Yorks openers Adam Lyth and Finlay Bean are not finding this easy against Ben Raine and Matthew Potts with a couple of good shouts for lbw turned down.

A first boundary of the innings finally comes in the sixth over to move them to the cusp of double figures.

  14. Postpublished at 11:37 BST

    Notts 48-0 v Warwicks 258

Haseeb Hameed moves to 25 with a punch through point off Ed Barnard for four.

Just pushed it from the crease. Super timing.

Ben Slater gets a four of his own, cutting Michael Booth to point.

  15. Postpublished at 11:34 BST

    Essex v Somerset 391-7

Somerset are cashing in on what looks like a very good surface.

Lewis Goldsworthy pushes Simon Harmer to mid on for one.

    He now has 80.

Jack Leach misses with an attempted square cut but survives the over.

  16. 'The bottom of the table could get very interesting'published at 11:33 BST

    Hants 194-6 v Surrey 147

    Mark Church
    BBC Radio London commentator

It's still interestingly poised all this. With Nottinghamshire and Surrey we've kept an eye on the top of the table but the bottom of the table could get very interesting.

Hampshire have put themselves under a little bit of pressure this morning due to some good Surrey bowling, there was nothing wrong with the batting

  17. wicket

    WICKETpublished at 11:32 BST

    Robinson b Taylor 24 (Worcs 123 v Sussex 293-8)

A good nut from Tom Taylor who takes a fourth of the innings with one that cramps up Ollie Robinson and is on his off stump before he can jab a defence down.

He now has 4-88 and has extended his lead at the top of the Division One wicket taking charts from Kyle Abbott and Jack Leach.

  18. wicket

    WICKETpublished at 11:32 BST

    Bohannon b van der Gugten 9 (Glamorgan 265 v Lancashire 104-2)

A peach from Timm van der Gugten gets through the defences of Josh Bohannon and careers into the stumps - great ball and he's really having a good match.

Lancashire have just passed 100 with Luke Wells on 36 and George Bell on nine.

  19. Postpublished at 11:31 BST

    Notts 39-0 v Warwicks 258

Warwickshire have done a fine holding job in the main this morning but there's no stopping this shot from Haseeb Hameed off Michael Booth.

A touch full and driven past the outstretched boot of Booth for four down the ground.

  20. Postpublished at 11:29 BST

    Essex v Somerset 384-7

Spinner Matt Critchley is in the attack for Essex.

His first ball is tossed up and Lewis Goldsworthy plays late to drive the ball off side for one.

Jack Leach gets off the mark with a couple pushed behind cover point on the front foot.
