  6. Superb effort from Raine but Durham miss out on third pointpublished at 11:17 BST 25 September

    Durham 346 v Yorkshire

    Martin Emmerson
    BBC Radio Newcastle

Durham have missed out on a third batting point by just four runs, as Jack White took three wickets on the second morning of this match to pick up his first five wicket haul for Yorkshire.

He took two wickets in a maiden over in the fourth over of the day. He took Matty Potts' middle stump out of the ground when he was on 31. That ended an excellent stand for the eighth wicket with Ben Raine at 87 runs.

White then bowled Daniel Hogg for a fourth ball duck and a few overs later saw off Ben Raine for 101. Raine looked to pull the ball through the legside but edged down to George Hill at third man. White finished with figures of 20.2 overs, 5-69.

How important could that missed point prove to be come the end of the game and relegation though?

Durham survived relegation here on the final day of the 2006 season - by half a point! A nervy couple of days beckon.

  7. Jennings falls for 49published at 11:16 BST 25 September

    Glamorgan 265 v Lancashire 91-1

Keaton Jennings has just fallen one short of a half-century as Lancashire lose their first wicket of the innings.

Timm van der Gugten, who top-scored with the bat for Glamorgan with 53, pins Jennings lbw for 49.

WICKETpublished at 11:15 BST 25 September

    Overton b Harmer 60 (Essex v Somerset 379-7)

Off spinner Simon Harmer removes the dangerous Craig Overton with a well-flighted ball that loops, turns and beats the forward block.

    Jack Leach is in next.

  9. LEICESTERSHIRE ALL OUT FOR 429published at 11:14 BST 25 September

    Northants v Leics 429

George Scrimshaw wraps up the innings with a short ball that Josh Hull feathers to captain-keeper Lewis McManus down the leg side.

This is a more than handy total against a Northants side missing the batting of Luke Procter and Ricardo Vasconcelos.

    Back in a few minutes.

  10. Five-wicket haul for Ajeet Singh Dalepublished at 11:13 BST 25 September

    Middlesex 423-6 v Glos

Ajeet Singh Dale is going out with a bang for Gloucestershire.

He is leaving the county to join Lancashire at the end of this season and wants to bid a fond farewell to the West Country.

Dale is on 5-96 from his 23 overs.

The next wicket he'll want to get is Leus du Plooy, who is now on 180 not out.

  11. Postpublished at 11:11 BST 25 September

    Notts 26-0 v Warwicks 258

Four more to Ben Slater, this time clipping Nathan Gilchrist to square leg on the back foot.

Bowling change. Ed Barnard is on in place of Ethan Bamber and he strikes Haseeb Hameed on the pad.

Decent LBW shout but just outside the line.

A shorter, wider ball is smashed through cover on the back foot for four.

Notts are getting a bit of momentum now.

Oh, half appeal for caught behind off the last ball, which Hameed pushes at going forward. Not out.

  12. 150 runs

150s for Madsen & Reecepublished at 11:09 BST 25 September

    Kent v Derbyshire 438-2

The transition from day one to day two has done nothing to stem the constant flow of runs from Derbyshire.

Both Wayne Madsen and Luis Reece have passed 150 this morning and their partnership is approaching 300.

Kent have just sent on their eighth bowler of the innings.

  13. wicket

DURHAM 346 ALL OUTpublished at 11:09 BST 25 September

    Raine c Hill b White 101 (Yorks v Durham 346)

Jack White wins the battle for the extra batting point as Ben Raine's innings (and Durham's) is brought to a close four runs short.

Raine is trying to hit over long on and goes the full 180 degrees getting a leading edge which flies high to George Hill's safe hands on the third man boundary.

Shame really given he had battled so hard to drag Durham within sight of a third batting point. His century came in 101 balls and contained 10 fours and five sixes.

  14. 'This is absolutely horrendous'published at 11:06 BST 25 September

    Hants 166-6 v Surrey 147

    Kevan James
    BBC Radio Solent commentator

I have to say that this is absolutely horrendous. This was not on the cards at all.

Hampshire really did need a good day today to get a long way ahead of Surrey, put them under pressure and ease everybody's fears.

  15. Postpublished at 11:06 BST 25 September

    Notts 18-0 v Warwicks 258

Great shot from Haseeb Hameed, back and across to Ethan Bamber to drive through cover for four.

Ben Slater is beaten outside off stump by Nathan Gilchrist at the other end.

He's off the mark! His 22nd ball faced is full and driven through cover point for four.

Another 33 would take him to 1000 runs for the season. Just saying.

  16. 100 runs

100 for Rainepublished at 11:04 BST 25 September

    Yorks v Durham 344-9

Ben Raine pings a full ball towards deep midwicket where there is perhaps one and a half runs on offer at any other time.

But he scuttles the first so quickly and turns for a second.

The throw comes in just as Shafiq Ghafari is arriving back at the non-strikers and Raine has his second first class century.

This has been a terrific knock from the seamer/all-rounder and Durham are now four runs from the third batting point.

  17. 50 runs

50 for Craig Overtonpublished at 11:02 BST 25 September

    Essex v Somerset 369-6

He reaches the landmark in just 54 balls with a single scooped into mid wicket off Jamie Porter.

Nine fours in that knock so far.

  18. Postpublished at 11:01 BST 25 September

    Notts 10-0 v Warwicks 258

Nathan Gilchrist is round the wicket to Ben Slater, angling the ball in and making run scoring very tough.

Slater is still looking for his first runs.

He plays and misses outside off. Gilchrist bowls a touch shorter and Slater shoulders arms.

Slater is nearly cut in half by one short ball, angling in but survives.

  19. dropped catch

Raine dropped on 97published at 11:00 BST 25 September

    Yorks v Durham 342-9

Ben Raine moves to within one hit of a century with a beautifully-timed clip off his legs off Matt Milnes which sails for six over the square boundary.

Still nine short of the third batting point.

Now he flashes at a low full toss from Jack White and is dropped by Dom Bess diving to his right at extra cover.

    A single keeps the strike.

  20. wicket

WICKETpublished at 10:55 BST 25 September

    Dawson c Sibley b Taylor 11 (Hants 165-6 v Surrey 147)

A third wicket for Surrey who are responding a little more like the champions they are after a miserable first day.
