  1. Postpublished at 10:54 BST 25 September

    Essex v Somerset 358-6

Lovely shot from Lewis Goldsworthy, pushing down the ground and just of out the reach of bowler Doug Bracewell for four.

    Seven runs off that over.

  2. Postpublished at 10:53 BST 25 September

    Notts 10-0 v Warwicks 258

Haseeb Hameed leaves Ethan Bamber outside the off stump and latches on to a more leg side ball to clip it through mid wicket for four.

Ben Slater is still looking for his first run at the other end but he's not getting much width from Nathan Gilchrist, persistently targetting the top of off stump.

Gilchrist bowls around the wicket and Slater shoulders arms outside off stump.

Maiden over. This feels like a bit of a grind currently.

  3. wicket

WICKETpublished at 10:52 BST 25 September

    Lamb c Jones b Taylor 10 (Worcs 123 v Sussex 245-7)

As tentative defensive prods go that was a worldie.

The edge goes low to second slip where Rob Jones takes a good catch to his right.

  4. wicket

WICKETpublished at 10:50 BST 25 September

    Hogg b White 0 (Yorks v Durham 332-9)

Jack White has another and Ben Raine leans disconsolately on his bat at the non-strikers end.

That was another peach from White, aimed at off, straight and hit off, uprooting the pole and sending another Durham man back.

Durham remain 18 short of a third batting point which could be crucial to their survival hopes.

    Plenty on Raine's shoulders here.

  5. 'Talk of miracles can go out of the window'published at 10:48 BST 25 September

    Hants 165-5 v Surrey 147

    Mark Church
    BBC Radio London commentator

Surrey probably had their worst day of the season yesterday, they'll put their hands up and say that they weren't very good with the bat. To be rolled over for 147 yesterday on a good deck having won the toss and batted first.

I think all the talk now of miracles and and mother cricket can go out of the window because all Notts need to do is pick up a couple of batting points and they will be crowned, quite rightly, the County champions because they'll end up with the most wins this season. They'll have ended up beating Surrey in the one day game between the two sides and I don't think anyone can argue with Notts being the champions.

From a Surrey perspective it's about getting back into this game. It's going to be tough on a pretty flat deck with a different looking bowling attack.

From a Hampshire point of view they need to cash in because the sun is shining. They need to look to bat once, ideally still by stumps and get a massive lead.

  6. wicket

WICKETpublished at 10:46 BST 25 September

    Potts b White 31 (Yorks v Durham 332-8)

Not much Matthew Potts could have done with that. That was like a guided missile from Jack White.

Sent down outside off it starts to move in the air and keeps going for the whole 22 yards bursting through Potts' defensive prod and flattens middle stump.

There will be a bit of Potts as he walks off that nods to that.

  7. wicket

WICKETpublished at 10:46 BST 25 September

    Eskinazi c McManus b Broad 155 (Northants v Leics 412-9)

Justin Broad strikes again this morning with the prize wicket of Stephen Eskinazi.

Eskinazi is half forward with a crooked bat and he's edged it to Lewis McManus behind the stumps.

Josh Hull is the Leicestershire number 11.

  8. Postpublished at 10:45 BST 25 September

    Essex v Somerset 351-6

Craig Overton is forward and across to Jamie Porter, trying to find a gap in the on side.

He gets away with an edge wide of the slips for a streaky four but he plays a fine shot off the fifth ball, driving through wide mid off for four to bring up the 350 in the 99th over.

  9. 'Notts looking to be champions for first time since 2010'published at 10:45 BST 25 September

    Notts 1-0 v Warwicks 258

    Dave Bracegirdle
    BBC Radio Nottingham commentator

The situation really is that if Notts get to 300 inside 110 overs, barring something ludicrous like loss of points for over rate or deductions or whatever, but get those two batting points then they will be County champions for the seventh time in their history and a third time in this century and their first time since 2010

  10. Postpublished at 10:41 BST 25 September

    Notts 1-0 v Warwicks 258

Ben Slater is struck on the pad by Nathan Gilchrist but survives the over.

Haseeb Hameed pushes forward defensively, facing Ethan Bamber.

Runs. The last ball spears towards leg stump and Hameed tucks the ball away fine for one.

    Notts are off the mark.

  11. wicket

WICKETpublished at 10:38 BST 25 September

    Van Beek c McManus b Broad 35 (Northants v Leics 401-8)

Logan van Beek gets his team to 400 in style, cutting a short ball from George Scrimshaw through point for four.

The 400 comes up in the 100th over.

But he's out in the next over.

Justin Broad draws him forward to defend and gets a thin edge through to captain and keeper Lewis McManus.

Chris Wright, playing his final championship game before retirement, is in next.

  12. wicket

WICKETpublished at 10:38 BST 25 September

    Brown lbw b Fisher 21 (Hants 155-5 v Surrey 147)

Matthew Fisher is right on the money first over and now has both set overnight batsmen within four balls as Ben Brown is pinned.

If the first delivery left Toby Albert, this one nips back ever so slightly and hits him in front of middle and off.

What a superb opening over and Hants overnight plans are in a bit of flux as is new bat Washington Sundar who will have been scrambling for his kit, or anybody's kit for that matter, as the wickets dropped.

  13. wicket

WICKETpublished at 10:36 BST 25 September

    Carson b Taylor 5 (Worcs 123 v Sussex 229-6)

Good start for Worcs with a wicket at the end of the first over.

  14. Postpublished at 10:35 BST 25 September

    Notts 0-0 v Warwicks 258

Haseeb Hameed leaves Ethan Bamber on width outside off stump.

No rush. Though he does advance down the wicket to one ball, which beats the outside edge.

He sees out the rest of the over - a maiden.

Now Ben Slater will face Nathan Gilchrist.

  15. Play resumes at Headingleypublished at 10:35 BST 25 September

    Yorks v Durham 323-7

Matt Milnes gets day two under way and Ben Raine starts with a clipped single.

  16. wicket

WICKETpublished at 10:32 BST 25 September

    Albert c Burns b Fisher 37 (Hants 154-4 v Surrey 147)

Matthew Fisher takes the ball from the Pavilion End and Toby Albert takes guard and he is right on the money first ball.

Not much Albert could have done with that as it was just on the perfect fourth stump line and left him ever so slightly.

Rory Burns (who deserves credit for being on it first ball as well) takes a low catch standing wide at first slip.

  17. Play resumes at Chelmsfordpublished at 10:31 BST 25 September

    Essex v Somerset 339-6

Lewis Goldsworthy will face Noah Thain first up - on 61 not out.

Craig Overton got off to a flying start with the bat last night and already has 31 off 38 balls.

Essex may be keen to keep him at the non-striker's end for now.

  18. Day Two begins at Trent Bridgepublished at 10:30 BST 25 September

    Notts 0-0 v Warwicks 258

Notts captain Haseeb Hameed will open the innings with Ben Slater.

The hosts need to do no more than win the Championship.

300 runs in 110 overs will do the job.

Hameed takes guard first, facing Ethan Bamber.

  19. Day Two begins at Northamptonpublished at 10:30 BST 25 September

    Northants v Leics 392-7

Logan van Beek takes guard first. He's on 26, facing fast bowler George Scrimshaw.

Stephen Eskinazi has the small matter of 150 not out to his name and he starts at the non-striker's end.
