  1. wicket

WICKET van Buuren c Simpson b Clark 2published at 11:59 British Summer Time 17 September

    Glos 49-5 v Sussex

Forgive the overused cliche, but Sussex are all over Gloucestershire like a rash at the moment.

Tom Clark is into his second over of seemingly innocuous medium pace, but Graeme van Buuren gloves an attempted pull to the keeper and is gone.

  2. 100 runs

101 between Hameed and Slaterpublished at 11:57 British Summer Time 17 September

    Kent v Notts 100-0

Haseeb Hameed absolutely hammers the ball through the covers for four to bring up 100.

That sums up much of Kent's morning, Notts have scored at above five runs an over all morning.

  3. wicket

WICKET Flintoff b Aldridge 7published at 11:56 British Summer Time 17 September

    Lancs 70-3 v Somerset

A valuable lesson for Rocky Flintoff, who drives at a ball from Kasey Aldridge, but doesn't get his foot anywhere near the pitch and the ball flattens middle stump via the inside edge.

First bowling point for Somerset - and we haven't had a sight yet of their spinners, who took all 20 wickets against Surrey last week.

  4. wicket

    Warks 44-4 v Essex

Pick the bones out of that one.

Accurate and fast that went straight through Hamza Shaikh's somewhat tentative defences and lifted his off stump clean out of the ground (the pitch that is not Edgbaston itself).

That had the beginnings of a recovery partnership for the fourth wicket about it but Shane Snater's snorter has done for that.

  5. wicket

WICKET Bracey c Haines b Unadkat 9published at 11:52 British Summer Time 17 September

    Glos 48-4 v Sussex

Big wicket for Jaydev Unadkat - his third - as James Bracey is well taken low down at gully by Tom Haines.

Skipper Graeme van Buuren is the new batsman for Gloucestershire.

  6. Postpublished at 11:52 British Summer Time 17 September

    Lancs 69-2 v Somerset

He'll feel better now - a couple of runs off Kasey Aldridge from his 22nd ball faced, followed by a single, gets Rocky Flintoff up and running.

That wasn't convincing, though, as he drives at a ball from Brett Randell and it flies wide of the slips for four.

  7. wicket

WICKET: Bean lbw b Gorvin 23published at 11:48 British Summer Time 17 September

    Glam v Yorks 67-1

A sweetly struck cover drive brings Adam Lyth another boundary and the milestone of 1,000 first class runs.

But his partner is now a has-Bean after Andy Gorvin gets one to rap Finlay Bean's pad in front.

Still a good start for Yorkshire after being put in.

  8. 50 runs

50 partnership between Vince and Gubbinspublished at 11:47 British Summer Time 17 September

    Hampshire 70-2 v Worcs

James Vince and Nick Gubbins are exuding their experience to edge Hampshire away from that early danger.

Although it has been Gubbins who has scored more freely than Vince.

In fact, Gubbins brings up the half-century stand with a fine flick off his hip. He's on 31, Vince on 12.

  9. wicket

WICKET Holland b Chahal 12published at 11:47 British Summer Time 17 September

    Northants v Leics 45-2

Instant reward for Northants as leg-spinner Yuzi Chahal is given his first bowl of the match.

His third ball cleans up Ian Holland, bowled behind his legs attempting a paddle sweep, and Lewis Hill comes out to join Sol Budinger, who is 28 not out.

The batsman only has himself to blame for that dismissal.

  10. wicket

WICKET: Guest lbw b Roland-Jones 7published at 11:47 British Summer Time 17 September

    Derbys 53-2 v Middx

Toby Roland-Jones was a little off line in his first spell but returns to strike second ball.

Full and straight to Brooke Guest who just plays down the wrong line and is beaten on the inside to be plumb lbw.

  11. wicket

WICKET: McKinney c Foakes b Worrall 23published at 11:45 British Summer Time 17 September

    Surrey v Durham 60-1

    Here's the breakthrough for Surrey!

Dan Worrall returns for a second spell and a full one in the channel outside off is just about tight enough to force Ben McKinney to play and he gets a feather edge behind.

He may have been able to leave it but that's a decent delivery to get Surrey going.

Durham opener Alex Lees has passed 5,000 first-class runs for the county today - it's come in 70 matches at an average of 46.3 per innings.

Lees is acting skipper for this game in the absence of the injured Scott Borthwick, who misses out on a re-union with the side he played for from 2017 to 2020.

Durham were put in by Surrey, on a lovely sunny morning at The Oval. Moments after Lees reached the 22 he needed to reach the 5,000 mark, he should have been out. He left a ball from Sam Curran which took his off-stump out of the ground and wrecked the bail. But the umpired signalled a no-ball.

The game sees Durham debuts for teenage bowler James Minto and former Northants batsman Emilio Gay, while Sam and Tom Curran are playing in a Championship match together for the first time since June 2017.

up for Lancashirepublished at 11:42 British Summer Time 17 September

    Lancs 59-2 v Somerset

Keaton Jennings raises the tempo at Old Trafford as the Lancashire total passes 50.

Four boundaries in that Lewis Gregory over, the last square cut powerfully away through point.

    Jennings is 41 not out.

  14. Postpublished at 11:40 British Summer Time 17 September

    Sol BudingerImage source, Rex Features

Leicestershire are having to work had for their runs at Wantage Road but Sol Budinger finds the boundary to end a Justin Broad over, and Ian Holland does likewise off Ben Sanderson at the start of the next.

  15. Postpublished at 11:38 British Summer Time 17 September

    Lancs 47-2 v Somerset

Somerset have got the squeeze on young Rocky Flintoff.

He has faced 15 balls so far and has yet to pick up his first run.

The visitors are still relying on their seamers, and Keaton Jennings collects four streaky runs in the latest from Lewis Gregory as he attempts a cover drive and it flies in the air down to third man.

  16. 50 runs

up for Durhampublished at 11:35 British Summer Time 17 September

    Surrey v Durham 50-0

Hmm not the start Surrey were after at all.

Alex Lees gets some luck to edge Sam Curran past third slip for four.

And then just gets the bat down in time to steer a straight delivery to fine leg for another boundary. He was falling over and almost trapped lbw.

Ben McKinney also taken a very short ball from Jordan Clark through midwicket for his second boundary.

Had to reach up and swat it away like a tennis player.

  17. Postpublished at 11:35 British Summer Time 17 September

    Glos 36-3 v Sussex

James Bracey is under way with a boundary at Bristol.

He has been, by some way, Gloucestershire's best batsman in the Championship this summer and they need another big contribution from him here.

  18. 50 runs

50 for Ben Slaterpublished at 11:34 British Summer Time 17 September

    Kent v Notts 77-0

Like a Slat out of Hell!

Ben Slater has scored at better than a run-a-ball to reach a sixth fifty of the season. 49 balls for his half-century to be precise.

Notts continue to score runs at a decent rate. Too many bad balls from Kent despite many play and misses.

  19. 50 runs

50 up for Yorkshirepublished at 11:32 British Summer Time 17 September

    Glam v Yorks 52-0

Really good start for the White Rose as they seek to keep up pressure on Sussex at the top of Division Two.

The sun is shining in Cardiff and the Yorkshire openers are making hay with Adam Lyth on 28 and Finlay Bean motoring nicely in his slipstream on 21.

    Dave Fulton
    BBC Radio Kent summariser

"It feels like it has been a series of play and misses and boundaries. They have played and missed about 15 times and got the same amount of fours."
