    Where did that come from?

A slow, looping full toss from Tom Bailey does the trick as Craig Overton plays too early and is leg-before.

The sort of delivery Franklyn Stephenson used to bowl during his successful spell with Nottinghamshire in the late 1980s, early 1990s.

  6. Postpublished at 17:13 British Summer Time 17 September

    Hampshire 333-4 v Worcs

    140 for Nick Gubbins!

Not a milestone you would usually mark but that is now Gubbins' highest score for Hampshire since arriving from Middlesex in 2021.

It is a beautiful evening on the south coast so plenty of runs still available in the last six overs of the day.

    Lancs 140 v Somerset 117-6

Anderson Phillip produces a beauty which squares Lewis Gregory up but whizzes past the edge.

The Trinidadian is working up a fair head of steam and tempts Gregory into driving at one well wide off off stump, but his miscue to mid-off is not aerial.

Gregory tries the shot again and his timing and placement are perfect as he adds four to his score, moving to 19 not out.

First batting point on the board.

    Glam v Yorks 309-7
