  1. Play resumes after tea at Utilitapublished at 15:36 British Summer Time 17 September

    Hampshire 220-4 v Worcs

Joe Leach breaks the spin dominance from the afternoon to start the evening session.

As tight as you would expect from the vastly experienced seamer.

  2. Tea at Sophia Gardenspublished at 15:33 British Summer Time 17 September

    Glam v Yorks 243-5

Steady accumulation for the visitors who are not doing anything quickly but are digging in doggedly.

George Hill and Dom Bess have put on 49 for the sixth wicket.

Yorkshire are just about back on top after a few wobbles and have asserted in the last half hour.

They will be eyeing at least three batting points from here.

For Glamorgan Andy Gorvin has been the pick with 3-36.

  3. Postpublished at 15:29 British Summer Time 17 September

    Kent v Notts 254-3

1-1 on the points tally as Notts ease through 250.

In the relegation fight, every point is hoarded and treasured.

  4. wicket

DERBYSHIRE ALL OUTpublished at 15:28 British Summer Time 17 September

    Derbys 173 (Moore c Roland-Jones b Hollman 32) v Middx

Last man Pat Brown edged Luke Hollman for four past slip before Harry Moore decided to have a dash at the legger and couldn't clear long-off.

Fitting that captain Toby Roland-Jones takes the catch having taken 5-34 among the carnage of that collapse of 6-3 a short while ago.

Middlesex have finished Derbyshire off before tea and having lost the toss that is a wonderful start to the game for the promotion-chasers.

  5. 50 runs

up for Somersetpublished at 15:24 British Summer Time 17 September

    Lancs 140 v Somerset 52-1

The first boundary for a while at Old Trafford and it's a streaky one for Tom Lammonby, who edges a ball from George Balderson, which lands short of and pierces the slip cordon.

Somerset's total passes 50 and Lammonby is 29 not out.

  6. Tea at Northamptonpublished at 15:21 British Summer Time 17 September

    Northants v Leics 203

Sam Wood is stumped off Rob Keogh for one and the end of the Leicestershire first innings means tea will be taken at Wantage Road.

Keogh returns figures of 3-20, but the most successful Northants bowler was Yuzi Chahal, who claimed 4-82 from 23 overs.

Sol Budinger top scored with 56 for the Foxes, and while others made decent starts, they were unable to build sizeable partnerships.

  7. wicket

WICKET Clarke c Gilchrist b Garrett 18published at 15:21 British Summer Time 17 September

    Kent v Notts 247-3

    A point for Kent!

They need as many as they can to avoid relegation in this round.

Joe Clarke will feel this is a needless wicket. He pulls George Garrett carelessly to long leg.

  8. wicket

WICKET: de Leede c sub (Steel) b TK Curran 36published at 15:19 British Summer Time 17 September

    Surrey v Durham 204-6

Tom Curran breaks the partnership before tea!

Bas de Leede goes to pull a short ball but gets it all wrong and a top edge loops up to midwicket.

A good alliance of 70 but a second bowling point for Surrey and they're back on top again.

  9. wicket

WICKET: Morley b Hollman 1published at 15:19 British Summer Time 17 September

    Derbys 168-9 v Middx

Jack Morley had done very well to survive 39 balls for just a single.

It's allowed Harry Moore to move the board along a little at the other end and the pair shared a stand of 35.

But Morley can't make it to tea as Luke Hollman's leg spin lures him down the pitch to have a swing, he misses completely and loses his off stump.

    Derbyshire almost done now.

up for Durhampublished at 15:16 British Summer Time 17 September

    Surrey v Durham 200-5

Having been 134-5, Durham are now back in the day as we move towards tea.

But Surrey have stemmed that quick flow of runs that sent this stand past 50 in 68 balls.

Just 10 runs now in the last six overs.

Seven overs to tea. So well behind schedule.

We wouldn't call it tense as Lancashire posted such a meagre first-innings total, but they are certainly making it hard for Somerset at the moment as a third successive maiden ticks by.

Tom Lammonby and Archie Vaughan are both still on 20.

  12. Tea at Utilita Bowlpublished at 15:14 British Summer Time 17 September

    Hampshire 220-4 v Worcs

Nick Gubbins waves his bat after scoring 50Image source, Rex Features

    Only three minutes over time.

We probably would have been on time had Nick Gubbins not splayed a couple of shots into the deep in the proceeding couple of overs.

Amar Virdi picked up two wickets in that session, but the headlines will go towards Gubbins - he's up to 93, and in for a nervy cake and tea.

  13. wicket

WICKET Currie c Sales b Chahal 0published at 15:11 British Summer Time 17 September

    Northants v Leics 198-9

Four wickets for Indian spinner Yuzi Chahal as James Sales takes a superb left-handed catch at silly mid-off as Scott Currie pushes forward.

Currie's dismissal brings Sam Wood to the crease in only his second first-class game.

  14. Postpublished at 15:09 British Summer Time 17 September

    Hampshire 212-4 v Worcs

That's the closest Nick Gubbins has looked to getting out.

Brett D'Oliveira's delivery stayed low which found Gubbins looping a leading edge back down the ground.

As hard as the bowler tried, he couldn't stretch far enough forward to gather a caught and bowled.

  15. wicket

WICKET Carter c Bracey b Akhter 10published at 15:07 British Summer Time 17 September

    Glos 109 v Sussex 27-1

    A breakthrough for Gloucestershire.

Zaman Akhter has makeshift opener Oli Carter caught behind in his second over after being hit for four at the start of it.

  16. wicket

WICKET Scriven c McManus b Keogh 10published at 15:05 British Summer Time 17 September

    Northants v Leics 194-8

Tom Scriven sweeps, but the ball flies up off the glove and Lewis McManus makes no mistake behind the stumps.

Leicestershire with quite a bit of work to do to earn even a single batting point as Scott Currie comes out at number 10.

  17. Postpublished at 15:03 British Summer Time 17 September

    Lancs 140 v Somerset 40-1

Tom Lammonby drives George Balderson back down the ground for four.

And when Tom Bailey overpitches in the next over, the left-hander stylishly puts it away through the covers.

He is 20 not out - the same score as partner Archie Vaughan.

  18. Postpublished at 15:02 British Summer Time 17 September

    Hampshire 206-4 v Worcs

Spin from both ends from Worcestershire.

Amar Virdi has caused trouble in his 20 overs today - 2-57 - but less control from Brett D'Oliveira so far.

Nick Gubbins reverse sweeps him for four to make it 14 runs in two overs against the Worcs skipper.

  19. wicket

WICKET: Wharton c van der Gugten b Harris 63published at 15:01 British Summer Time 17 September

    Glam v Yorks 194-5

Sucked into the hook and straight to Timm van der Gugten at fine leg. Avoidable wicket for Yorkshire who are threatening to muck up a strong position.

Still 56 runs short of a batting point. They will kick themselves if they don't get there.

  20. 150 runs

up for Derbyshirepublished at 14:56 British Summer Time 17 September

    Derbys 152-8 v Middx

The Bakewell tarts are out at the Racecourse ground as Derbyshire limp past 150.

It's now been a whole eight overs since they lost a wicket.

But it will need something special down the order now to put a decent number on the board.

Going very well at 130-2, they then lost 6-3 in 35 balls!

    Can Middlesex finish them off?
