Tom Haines departs - caught at slip off Dom Goodman.

It's 50 and out for Dom Bess raises his bat for the 20th time in his first class career and then fails to get it down in time to keep out Mason Crane's quicker delivery.

It would probably have hit middle and leg but that was a decent contribution from the all-rounder who rattled along at a decent clip with his half century coming in 66 balls.

  8. dropped catch

Dropped catchpublished at 16:39 British Summer Time 17 September

    Hampshire 295-4 v Worcs

Liam Dawson has life on 62 as he is put down at first slip. Tough chance but on days like today where wickets are hard to come by, those need to be taken.

  15. wicket

    Warks 78 v Essex 105-6

Ed Barnard takes a wicketImage source, Rex

Ed Barnard grabs a fortuituous wicket but at what cost.

The right armer had to step in after the first ball of Chris Rushworth's first over after tea with the big quick limping off with what looked like a hamstring injury.

With his second ball, Barnard encourages Matt Critchley to reach at a wide one, feet planted, and edge to the ever-reliable Rob Yates at second slip.

Nice shot, James Rew, who cuts George Balderson for four, the first scoring stroke of his innings.

Somerset are now more than half-way towards Lancashire's total, but they need a lot more than that in this innings.
