Is it bowled? Is it hit wicket? Has the wicketkeeper nudged the bail?

Vince doesn't think he's out but after a long chat with the umpires he has been sent on his way.

The scorers have elected for bowled.

What a brilliant 14th first-class century for Ben Slater.

It is brought up with a cover drive to the boundary - his 18th four of the day.

Nick Gubbins wins the race with James Vince to reach fifty first.

A slightly streak inside edge for a single but he's at the milestone in 106 balls.

The duo also passed a century stand a few moments ago. It feels like a very good batting pitch in the sun.

  16. wicket

WICKET Bell b Overton 0published at 13:32 British Summer Time 17 September

    Lancs 115-7 v Somerset

    Craig OvertonImage source, Rex Features

    What a beauty.

A magnificent delivery from Craig Overton is too much for George Bell, who becomes his fourth victim of the opening day.

The Northants paceman has 2-11 from nine overs.

  19. Snater the pick for pinpoint Essexpublished at 13:29 British Summer Time 17 September

Warks 78 all out v Essex

Warwickshire have already been bowled out once by Essex for under three figures this season when they slumped to 94 against today's rivals at Chelmsford in May.

But they have comfortably eclipsed that with this 78 all out, their worst since last July when Middlesex bowled them out here for 60.

Essex's attack was faultless. One round after sending Nottinghamshire on their way for 93, they have removed Warwickshire in little more than a session.

Shane Snater deserved to be applauded off the field by his teammates having snagged the final wicket, his 5-13 in 7.4 overs, the eighth time he has a first class five.

  20. Postpublished at 13:24 British Summer Time 17 September

    Kent v Notts 153-0

New session, same as the last session.

Nathan Gilchrist is the no ball fiend this time as he begins the post-lunch era by overstepping, which Haseeb Hameed lavishly helps to the point boundary.

Kent just need to find some control from somewhere as the 150 is passed.
