  1. Postpublished at 11:57 British Summer Time 25 April

    Nottinghamshire v Sussex (26-3)

That top catch was quite a way to get into the game from Liam Patterson-White.

The all-rounder wasn't in the initial squad last night but when Lyndon James was advised to rest his groin niggle, LPW was in.

And he'll be feeling right in the thick of it now after hanging on low to his right to that rocket from Daniel Hughes.

A couple of runs come from Brett Hutton's next over as the sun starts rummaging in its hat box.

  2. 'We could have had a fourth wicket'published at 11:55 British Summer Time 25 April

    Gloucestershire 23-3 v Leicestershire

    Richard Rae
    BBC Radio Leicester Sport

We're having another conversation between batter and umpire, Cameron Green is being told he can't come so far down the crease.

We could have had a fourth wicket here already.

Ian Holland has had four maidens and 2-11 so far.

  3. Postpublished at 11:54 British Summer Time 25 April

    Surrey v Somerset 37-0

Width from Jordan Clark and Tom Lammonby is forward to crunch the ball through point for four.

Clark beats Lammonby with a tighter line outside off stump later in the over but no breakthrough for the hosts so far in the session.

  4. wicket

    WICKETpublished at 11.2 overs

    Jones c Robinson b Ball 3 (Worcestershire 22-3 v Durham)

    Copy and paste.

Rob Jones' search for form goes on as he gets down to one from Jake Ball but can only edge behind to Ollie Robinson for three from as many deliveries.

That combination have collected all three wickets.

Adam Hose is the latest to head out to the middle.

  5. dropped catch

Archie Vaughan dropped on 17published at 11:51 British Summer Time 25 April

    Surrey v Somerset 31-0

Dan Worrall is into his sixth over and a short ball is pulled square by Tom Lammonby for a single.

Archie Vaughan makes a late decision to leave the next ball outside off and edges another ball just short of third slip on 17.

Oh, did that carry? Yes. Dan Lawrence moves to his left and spills a low chance as he dives and his elbows hit the turf.

A testing over and a frustrating one for Surrey.

  6. Sussex middle order need to come to the partypublished at 11:51 British Summer Time 25 April

    Nottinghamshire v Sussex (23-2)

    Dave Bracegirdle
    BBC Radio Nottingham commentator

Sussex have been full of runs at the top of the order and that's always going to get you out of potential difficulty, but they now need the middle and lower-middle order to come to the party.

  7. Division Two updatepublished at 11:50 British Summer Time 25 April

    #bbccricket

    Gloucestershire 21-3 v Leicestershire

Another two quick wickets for Leicestershire as Ollie Price falls for one, bowled by in-form Ian Holland.

Ben Charlesworth has also departed for 14, caught behind by Ben Cox, as Holland takes his second of the match.

    Derbyshire 34-1 v Middlesex

The home-side have begun to put some runs on the board as David Lloyd and Harry Came put a partnership of 30 runs together.

  8. Ball having a ball with the ballpublished at 11:48 British Summer Time 25 April

    Worcestershire 16-2 v Durham

    Martin Emmerson
    BBC Radio Newcastle

This was a good toss to win and Durham's new loanee Jake Ball is certainly enjoying the best of the conditions at New Road.

He's taken both wickets to fall so far. Gareth Roderick had a life on four when he was dropped at first slip by Will Rhodes. It was a straightforward chance, but two delieveries later he edged a wide one to the keeper.

Ball then got an inside edge off Jake Libby's bat and dismissed him at the end of the 10th over for nine. Ollie Robinson took both catches.

It's a bit overcast and cool at the moment and they are playing on a new field after the groundstaff had to re-plant it following five winter floods.

  9. Postpublished at 11:46 British Summer Time 25 April

    Surrey v Somerset 30-0

Just a single off Dan Worrall's latest over, getting carry and a bit of movement outside off stump.

We have our first bowling change from the Pavilion End, where Jordan Clark replaces Gus Atkinson. He's bowling round the wicket.

Tom Lammonby goes forward, pushing the first ball through deep third for one.

Shot! Archie Vaughan holds the pose as he drives the next ball through cover for four.

Four more flayed through cover on the back foot.

Vaughan gets two more runs whipped through mid wicket.

11 runs off an over of variable line and length.

  10. wicket

    WICKETpublished at 10.4 overs

    Hughes c Patterson-White b Hutton 12 (Nottinghamshire v Sussex 22-3)

    No prizes who's got it.

One ball after a lovely punch back through mid-off for four, Daniel Hughes has gone.

He's thrashed a cut at a slightly shorter one from Brett Hutton (who else?) and Liam Patterson-White has held on to a blinder at gully.

Might have been a bit close to Hughes for a cut but it's a fine catch.

Josh Tongue brought into the attack now.

  11. wicket

    WICKETpublished at 10.0 overs

    Libby c Robinson b Ball 9 (Worcestershire 16-2 v Durham)

Jake Ball picks up both openers, and perhaps the Pears' best two hopes of a long knock.

Jake Libby comes forward to a fuller one but can only feather an inside edge through to Ollie Robinson.

    Durham well on top.

Rob Jones is the new man in the middle, joining Henry Nicholls.

  12. Postpublished at 11:41 British Summer Time 25 April

    Worcestershire 16-1 v Durham

    Frank Watson
    BBC Hereford & Worcester

It's early days but you wouldn't say this looks like being a high-scoring affair.

The outfield looks very slow indeed.

  13. Postpublished at 11:40 British Summer Time 25 April

    Worcestershire 14-1 v Durham

Left-hander Henry Nicholls gets off the mark with a leg-side clip off Jake Ball, who gives up the first boundary of the match to Jake Libby, a nicely-timed cut past point which makes it all the way to the rope across the lush outfield.

  14. Postpublished at 11:40 British Summer Time 25 April

    Nottinghamshire v Sussex 16-2

Fergus O'Neill can't believe he hasn't got Daniel Hughes.

His fellow Aussie has aimed a booming dive to one that's nudge in late to the left-hander and he's got a thick inside edge that's somehow not clattered into the stumps.

Instead it's on its bike to the fine leg boundary.

Moral win for O'Neill but best whisper it.

  15. Postpublished at 11:39 British Summer Time 25 April

    Surrey v Somerset 18-0

Tom Lammonby on eight is forward to defend against Gus Atkinson, pushing the ball behind square on the off side and Rory Burns dives to his right to stop a likely four runs.

The pitch is playing nicely with only occasional movement off the seam. Could be plenty of short pitched bowling this morning.

  16. Looked a little highpublished at 11:37 British Summer Time 25 April

    Nottinghamshire v Sussex 16-2

    Adrian Harms
    BBC Sussex

My initial thought was it was a little high.

They went up pretty sharpish and umpire Ian Blackwell was convinced Tom Clark was out and let's be honest there's never been a player who's been given out lbw that thinks they're out.

  17. Postpublished at 11:35 British Summer Time 25 April

    Surrey v Somerset 16-0

The three slips are raising their arms seemingly every other ball as Archie Vaughan is on the ball a little early and square as he defends.

He rides the bounce well on the last ball from Dan Worrall, pushing the ball to deep third on the back foot for a single. Very well played.

  18. Postpublished at 11:30 British Summer Time 25 April

    Surrey v Somerset 15-0

A leg side ball from Gus Atkinson to Archie Vaughan, who clips it around the corner for a single.

The rest of the over is just outside off stump and the left-handed Tom Lammony leaves well alone.

  19. wicket

    WICKETpublished at 7.3 overs

    Roderick c Robinson b Ball 4 (Worcestershire 7-1 v Durham)

The drop didn't cost Durham anything...

Gareth Roderick slashes at a shorter, wider one from Jake Ball and only succeeds in flashing a top-edge edge through to Ollie Robinson behind the stumps.

A first Durham wicket for Jake Ball on a pitch which looks like it will aid the bowlers more than the batters.

Henry Nicholls strides out to join Jake Libby, the Kiwi's first Pears appearance.

  20. dropped catch

Dropped catchpublished at 11:29 British Summer Time 25 April

    Worcestershire 7-0 v Durham

A life for Gareth Roderick who pushes forward at a delivery from Jake Ball but sees a low chance put down at second slip while on four.
