    Clark lbw b Hutton 8 (Nottinghamshire v Sussex 11-2)

Hutton again! (should get that on speed type)

Just as he did against Warwickshire, Brett Hutton is making early inroads with his in-swingers.

There's no doubt Tom Clark is hit in front, trying to push it to leg, but it does look high.

It's much more front flap than knee roll.

Clark turns his back on the umpire then has a look back, sees the finger, and his shoulders slump.

Might have got the benefit of the doubt on another day.

  2. 'It was a great delivery'published at 11:26 British Summer Time 25 April

    Gloucestershire 6-1 v Leicestershire

    Ed Seabourne
    BBC Radio Bristol

    It was a great delivery.

As an opposition player you feel if you can get rid of Cameron Bancroft, you've got a chance.

This was not what Gloucestershire would've wanted.

  3. Postpublished at 11:26 British Summer Time 25 April

    Surrey v Somerset 14-0

Dan Worrall continues from the Vauxhall End and continues to get bounce and carry outside off stump.

Archie Vaughan is squared up a bit as he nudges a ball to third man for a single.

Tom Lammonby leaves the ball outside off stump to start with and then he plays and misses with an off drive. Definite movement there.

    #bbccricket

    Gloucestershire 6-1 v Leicestershire

The perfect start for the Foxes as Gloucestershire captain Cameron Bancroft is bowled by Logan Van Beek.

Leicestershire won the toss and elected to bowl first, it is now four games in a row that Gloucestershire find themselves batting first.

    Derbyshire 23-1 v Middlesex

A good start for Middlesex here as they too find an early wicket as in-form Caleb Jewell is caught by du Plooy for a four-ball duck off Toby Roland-Jones.

The visitors elected to field after winning the toss.

  5. Postpublished at 11:23 British Summer Time 25 April

    Nottinghamshire v Sussex 10-1

This tough exam from Brett Hutton and Fergus O'Neill continues under heavy skies at Trent Bridge.

Hutton is SO close to picking up Dan Hughes with one that gets the left-hander pushing forward down the wrong line and nearly taking his edge.

One run off the last 16 balls for Sussex shows you how demanding it is at the moment.

  6. Postpublished at 11:23 British Summer Time 25 April

    Worcestershire 7-0 v Durham

A fine diving stop from George Drissell at third slip denies Jake Libby a streaky boundary off the edge to end the third over from Ben Raine.

Gareth Roderick slashes Jake Ball through the covers to start the next over but the ball holds up on a slow outfield and he has to settle for a couple.

Five floods at New Road since the end of last season have had an impact - it's testament to the ground staff that this game is on at all.

  7. Postpublished at 11:21 British Summer Time 25 April

    Surrey v Somerset 13-0

Dan Worrall is a bit leg side and Archie Vaughan clips the ball away for three runs to get off the mark.

Tom Lammonby picks up a couple of runs with an immaculate push down the ground off Gus Atkinson.

The third ball is short and pulled in front of square for Lammonby's first four. Classy shot. Made it look so easy.

Rotten luck for Sean Dickson, just when he seemed to be playing himself into a bit of form.

  9. Sean Dickson retires hurtpublished at 11:14 British Summer Time 25 April

    Surrey v Somerset 2-0

The concern is with the index finger of Sean Dickson's right hand but he's carrying on for now at the non-striker's end.

Now a short leg comes in. Ryan Patel.

Archie Vaughan sees out the over with a beautifully straight bat.

Now Dickson will test out his sore hand facing Dan Worrall.

His bottom hand comes off the bat straight away as he defends.

    He's leaving the field.

Tom Lammonby is on his way to the middle.

  10. Haines full of runs - but not todaypublished at 11:13 British Summer Time 25 April

    Nottinghamshire v Sussx 9-1

    Adrian Harms
    BBC Sussex

He's been full of runs Tom Haines but not today.

That's a real blow. There's a bit of extra grass on the wicket and perhaps he played a little bit away from his body but that was a good catch, low down.

  11. Postpublished at 11:10 British Summer Time 25 April

    Nottinghamshire v Sussex 8-1

Brett Hutton's excellent first over is done and although the last ball went for four, it was far from convincing by Tom Clark, who's edged it through the slips to the deep third fence.

Penny for Tom Haines' thoughts - scores of 141, 174 and 69* in his last three innings - today a second-ball duck. Cricket, eh?

Aussie seamer Fergus O'Neill, in his fourth and last game for Notts, opens with a tidy over to start.

    Surrey v Somerset 2-0

    Mark Church
    BBC Radio London commentator

He's not gone off. That's a good sign for Dickson.

He did well to keep it down, actually.

  13. ouch!

Dickson struck on hand by Atkinson short ballpublished at 11:08 British Summer Time 25 April

    Surrey v Somerset 2-0

A bit of extra bounce from Gus Atkinson and Sean Dickson jabs the ball down in defence.

Dickson gets a single off the fourth ball but the ball again bounces more than he expected and he's been struck on the hand at a pace somewhere close to 90 mph.

The physio is on the field.

  14. Postpublished at 11:07 British Summer Time 25 April

    Worcestershire 0-0 v Durham

After an aborted first delivery of the season from Ben Raine after losing his footing on a lush outfield, he sends down a maiden over.

Jake Ball will take the new ball from the other end in his first game of a two-week loan at Durham.

  15. Postpublished at 11:04 British Summer Time 25 April

    Surrey v Somerset 1-0

Three slips in on a green-tinged Oval surface.

Sean Dickson is off the mark third ball and Archie Vaughan is squared up a little as he defends down the ground.

Dan Worrall pushes the ball out wider and Vaughan leaves it alone.

England international Gus Atkinson will share the new ball from the Pavilion End.

    Haines c Haynes b Hutton 0 (Nottinghamshire v Sussex 1-1)

    Brett Hutton at it again!

Third ball of the innings, Hutton puts in on a length, just offering a bit of shape, and Tom Haines edges to third slip where Jack Haynes hangs on well.

  17. Play begins at New Roadpublished at 11:01 British Summer Time 25 April

    Worcestershire 0-0 v Durham

After a poignant tribute to John Curtis on the boundary, play will begin at New Road for the first time this season.

Durham have won the toss and will bowl first. it remains to be seen how this track will play after so much water on the field over the winter.

Gareth Roderick and Jake Libby will open the innings, with Ben Raine taking the new ball for injury-hit Durham.

  18. Play begins at the Ovalpublished at 11:00 British Summer Time 25 April

    Surrey v Somerset 0-0

Umpires Rob Bailey and Russell Warren are in the middle.

Somerset openers Archie Vaughan and Sean Dickson will get this innings started and Dan Worrall will bowl to Sean Dickson.

  19. Division Two previewpublished at 10:59 British Summer Time 25 April

Both games start at 11:00 BST

Gloucestershire host Leicestershire at the Seat Unique Stadium with the side from Bristol still looking for their first win in this season's County Championship.

It might be the time to remind you that they have failed to pick up a victory at their home ground since September 2022, a run of 12 matches, and the league leaders Leicestershire are in fine form coming into this one.

The Foxes have a narrow two-point lead over Kent in second, they have the chance to increase that gap as the latter don't play again until next weekend.

We also have a the small matter of third against fourth as Derbyshire host Middlesex.

The travelling side are coming off an excellent win by nine wickets against Glamorgan, they'll be hoping to do something similar here.

Both sides have made a strong start to this year's competition and as far as the head-to-heads go, it's three wins each at the County Ground, so we might be in for a close one...

  20. Surrey and Somerset both looking for points surgepublished at 10:58 British Summer Time 25 April

    Surrey v Somerset (11:00 BST)

Did anyone else expect these two teams to be without a win in the first three games of the season?

Surrey have three draws in three games, perhaps coming closest to a win at home in the second round against Hampshire in the second round, where they held a slender first innings advantage on a seaming wicket but were held back by a brilliant second innings hundred from Nick Gubbins.

Somerset might be regretting the decision to bat on for 150 overs in their first innings in the season opener v Worcestershire, who batted 200 overs to force a draw at Taunton.

Since then the West Country team have suffered a thumping 260-run loss away to Sussex and escaped with a draw away v Hampshire after conceding a first innings lead of 93.

We can expect a few new faces in this game.

England international Jamie Smith returns to the Surrey squad, along with batter and leg spinner Cameron Steel and fast medium bowler James Taylor.

Captain and all rounder Lewis Gregory (pictured) returns to the Somerset squad with seam bowler Josh Davey.
