  1. 'It's been a brilliant performance from him'published at 16:34 British Summer Time 25 April

    Gloucestershire 252 v Leicestershire

    Nicole Harvey
    BBC Radio cricket commentator

Ben Green will be really happy with his five wickets.

He’s bowled really well; it’s been a brilliant performance from him.

It was an excellent contribution from James Bracey who was just short of his century, he made sure Gloucestershire put up a good score in the end.

  2. GLOUCESTERSHIRE 252 ALL-OUTpublished at 16:34 British Summer Time 25 April

    Gloucestershire 252 v Leicestershire

James Bracey is left high and dry on 93* as last man Ajeet Singh-Dale is cleaned-up by Ben Green who ends with 5-63.

Some recover from 88-7, thanks largely to in-form Bracey who posts his third straight red inker and helped his side claim an improbable batting point.

  3. Play resumes after tea at the Ovalpublished at 16:33 British Summer Time 25 April

    Surrey v Somerset 164-5

Plenty of patience and resolve on show for both teams in this game.

But ultimately Somerset have blinked first, losing 5-77 in the middle session of play today.

We've seen some seam movement and swing since lunchtime and the run rate has been kept under three an over.

Tom Lammonby looked the most assured for a 173-ball innings of 76 which ended bizarrely with him being bowled round his legs after moving across his stumps, trying to glance Dan Worrall to fine leg.

Can Surrey wrap the innings up tonight? Will Sean Dickson bat again tonight after a painful index finger injury in the third over this morning?

For now Kasey Aldridge faces James Taylor on four not out.

His batting partner and captain Lewis Gregory is yet to get off the mark after seven deliveries.

  4. wicket

WICKETpublished at 16:32 British Summer Time 25 April

    Brookes c Blatherwick b Ball 27 (Worcestershire 156-9 v Durham)

Ethan Brookes decided to put the pedal down after tea with a couple of fours but top-edges an attempted hook down the throat of Jack Blatherwick at long leg.

Jacob Duffy comes out to join Ben Allison in the gathering gloom.

Jake Ball is seeking a fivefer on Durham debut.

  5. wicket

WICKETpublished at 16:28 British Summer Time 25 April

    Slater c Coles b Seales 20 (Nottinghamshire 36-1 v Sussex 169)

Bit of an odd dismissal that.

Ben Slater has just taken Jayden Seales for successive fours (and three in the over) and then seemed to be surprised by one as he lollypopped a catch up to gully.

Looked like he was trying to get his bat out of the road but wasn't quick enough and it takes the toe-end and goes straight to James Coles.

    A blow for Sussex.

  6. Play resumes at New Roadpublished at 16:24 British Summer Time 25 April

    Worcestershire 143-8 v Durham

Ben Allison is on strike to Jake Ball to begin the evening session after Tom Taylor became the third man to depart for the Pears to the final ball of a session already this season.

It was a good toss to win, as Durham did, but while they'll be keen to whip these final two men out, they wont be relishing building a big total in these conditions tonight.

  7. Postpublished at 16:22 British Summer Time 25 April

    Nottinghamshire 22-0 v Sussex 169

Haseeb Hameed is batting like he's got 114 but, a good as he's looked, he has only 14.

And he very nearly undoes all his good work thus far to one from Ollie Robinson as he rocks back and waves his bat at the ball as it whizzes uncomfortably close to the outside edge on its way through to John Simpson.

But Hameed doesn't let that slight slip in concentration bother him as caresses another one through extra-cover for four. It's so nice.

You could watch that shot all day. Heck, all year.

  8. 'It's been a great fight-back'published at 16:14 British Summer Time 25 April

    Gloucestershire 235-9 v Leicestershire

    Richard Rae
    BBC Radio Leicester Sport

A total that Gloucestershire would've taken.

    It's been a great fight-back from them.

    Worcestershire 142-8 v Durham - Ball 3-38

    Division Two

    Gloucestershire 236-9 v Leicestershire - Bracey 77* Green 4-61 (still playing)

    Derbyshire 164-2 v Middlesex - Lloyd 93, Came 62*

  10. Postpublished at 16:13 British Summer Time 25 April

    Nottinghamshire 14-0 v Sussex 169

A change of angle almost does the trick for Jayden Seales.

After three balls from over the wicket to the left-handed Ben Slater, he switches to round the wicket and nearly has Slater, who dangles his bat at one quite a way from his body.

But the next delivery is played with much more conviction as he stands up and smacks it off the back foot for four through the covers.

In Ollie Robinson's next over, Haseeb Hameed brings out another exhibit from the Museum of Cover Drives and the ball disappears with the flourish of a confident craftsman.

  11. Tea at the Ovalpublished at 16:12 British Summer Time 25 April

    Surrey v Somerset 164-5

Kasey Aldridge will face Gus Atkinson.

He's up on his toes, defending a waspish short ball safely past forward short leg.

He sways backwards to avoid another brutal bouncer and ducks under another bouncer which runs away for four byes.

That ball passed his shoulder and swung sharply. Absolutely no way the keeper could've stopped that!

The drama ends for now. Back in 20 minutes.

  12. Postpublished at 16:07 British Summer Time 25 April

    Surrey v Somerset 159-5

Dan Lawrence will continue from the Vauxhall End as another aircraft screeches over the Oval.

Kasey Aldridge turns the off spinner into the leg side for one.

This has been a superb session of play for Surrey, who bowled with patience and control throughout.

    One more over before tea.

  13. wicket

WICKET (and tea at New Road)published at 16:04 British Summer Time 25 April

Taylor lbw Drissell 0 (Worcestershire 142-8 v Durham)

Last ball before tea, and off-spinner George Drissell pins Tom Taylor infront for an 18-ball duck.

Five wickets in the session for the visitors who are in charge, but won't be relishing batting on a slow surface with occasional uneven bounce and a very slow outfield.

Henry Nicholls made a patient 42 as wickets tumbled around him but he's been the pick for the Pears thus far.

  14. Postpublished at 16:03 British Summer Time 25 April

    Surrey v Somerset 158-5

    Anthony Gibson
    BBC Radio Somerset

    Time for a captain's innings.

The moral of the Surrey bowling is persistence pays.

  15. wicket

WICKETpublished at 16:02 British Summer Time 25 April

    Rew b Atkinson 6 (Surrey v Somerset 158-5)

James Rew departsImage source, Rex Features

Time for James Rew to face the music from Gus Atkinson but there's no chin music just yet.

The bouncer comes on the third delivery which Rew ducks comfortably.

Out! Surrey have a fifth wicket and Atkinson's second.

A quick length delivery and Rew brings the bat down late, inside edging into his stumps.

A brutal spell from Atkinson and Somerset are really rocking.

    Lewis Gregory is in next.

  16. Play back underway at Trent Bridgepublished at 16:00 British Summer Time 25 April

    Nottinghamshire 6-0 v Sussex 169

Former (do we say that now?) England seamer Ollie Robinson opens up for Sussex after tea with the visitors desperate to make early progress through the Notts top order.

But that may take some doing.

Not only because conditions are not as bowler-friendly as this morning but also because Notts skipper Haseeb Hameed is in such diamond form.

His tally currently stands at 230 runs for once out before this knock and he creams the fourth ball of the innings through the covers in typically stylish fashion.

Frame it and stick it on the wall.

  17. Division Two updatepublished at 15:59 British Summer Time 25 April

    #bbccricket

Derbyshire's David Lloyd is down on his haunches after attempting to hook away Ryan Higgins, only to hole-out to Max Holden near the rope at deep backward square.

He departs seven runs short of a century and a 156-run stand with Harry Came (61*) is over.

Wayne Madsen comes in as the next challenge for the Middlesex bowlers.

Gloucestershire's revival from 88-7 continues as James Bracey (64*) and No10 Josh Shaw (39*) have guided them to 217-8, a stand of 75, against Leicestershire at Bristol.

  18. Postpublished at 15:58 British Summer Time 25 April

    Surrey v Somerset 158-4

Kasey Aldridge tries to work the off spin of Dan Lawrence round the corner but doesn't get the ball past leg slip.

He switches to defending on the back foot and then gets single going back to the fifth ball to long on.

Single to James Rew pushed past square leg.

  19. Postpublished at 15:55 British Summer Time 25 April

    Surrey v Somerset 156-4

James Rew picks up two runs driving Dan Worrall on the front foot through cover.

Gus Atkinson is back in the attack from the Pavilion End for a mini burst of bowling before the tea interval.

He bowls a bumper that is angled across Kasey Aldridge who allows that ball to safely pass leg stump.

The fourth ball is a much sharper off stump bouncer and he has to sway backwards to evade it.

The fifth ball is also short, striking the shoulder and Aldridge almost walks back into his stumps. A leg slip goes in.

He plays this ball off the shoulder of his bat down the leg side for one.

A brutal over and now he'll face Dan Lawrence.

  20. 'Tongue going from strength to strength'published at 15:52 British Summer Time 25 April

    Notts v Sussex 169

    Dave Bracegirdle
    BBC Radio Nottingham commentator

Josh Tongue’s return to the first class game continues to go from strength to strength.

The England quick claimed his second five-wicket haul of the season to help blow Sussex away in just 59 overs.

After yorking Tom Alsop in the morning session, the 27-year old roughed James Coles up with a blow to the body before enticing a simple catch from the next delivery.

Returning for a fourth spell, with Sussex seven down, Tongue then picked off the last three wickets in his comeback over, all to nicks behind the wicket to finish with 5-44
