  1. Division Two updatepublished at 14:38 British Summer Time 25 April

    #bbccricket

    Gloucestershire 148-8 v Leicestershire

Ben Green picks up his third wicket and Gloucestershire's eighth of the day as the 54-run partnership is broken as Zaman Akhter is caught by Roman Walker after a quickfire 29.

The hosts were making a fight of it as James Bracey reached 37 runs off 66 balls and will look to keep the strike as much as he can.

    Derbyshire 111-1 v Middlesex

The visitors have struggled to find another breakthrough as Derbyshire look to keep this partnership between David Lloyd (58*) and Harry Came (44*) going - it's now up to 106.

  2. Postpublished at 14:36 British Summer Time 25 April

    Surrey v Somerset 121-2

Tom Banton is forward to Dan Worrall, defending down the ground.

The fourth ball is leg side and clipped away safely for a couple.

He has a high back lift but has no need to bring the bat down to meet the next ball, which seams away outside off.

He ends the over a bit unconvincingly, missing the ball with a loose and flashing off drive.

  3. Postpublished at 14:35 British Summer Time 25 April

    Nottinghamshire v Sussex 131-6

Fynn Hudson-Prentice has brought some energy to the crease after the loss of John Simpson.

Joe Root-style he's looked to get some tip-and-run going and has got to six off six.

After playing no stroke to one from Fergus O'Neill which misses the off stump by pretty much nothing, he's also leaving well.

    FHP sees out the maiden.

Oli Carter is equally measured in Brett Hutton's next over, before on-driving very nicely for his seventh four to move into the 40s.

  4. 100 runs

100 up for Pearspublished at 14:34 British Summer Time 25 April

    Worcestershire 100-4 v Durham

Gritty stuff, but the hosts have reached three figures in the 41st over.

Henry Nicholls is showing all of his 33-years and 56-Test experience on debut here, moving to 42 from 112 balls.

Brett D'Oliveira has 15 from 28 at the other end.

  5. Postpublished at 14:30 British Summer Time 25 April

    Surrey v Somerset 119-2

Tom Banton gets two to backward point off Jordan Clark and he rings his right hand after the next ball, which strikes the glove and he runs one more to move to 13.

    Unlucky for some.

It doesn't look like that stung as much as the nasty bumper that struck Sean Dickson's glove this morning though.

  6. Postpublished at 14:28 British Summer Time 25 April

    Surrey v Somerset 116-2

Dan Worrall angles the ball across Tom Lammonby, who leaves outside off stump.

Maiden over. We have a bowling change at the other end as Jordan Clark replaces Gus Atkinson.

  7. 'Nicholls providing solidity for Pears'published at 14:26 British Summer Time 25 April

    Worcestershire 94-4 v Durham

    Frank Watson
    BBC Hereford & Worcester

Worth bearing in mind that the New Road outfield is so lush and slow that boundaries are very hard to come by and you can probably add 20% to the total to get an idea of a ‘typical’ score.

Henry Nicholls has shown true application out there and brought some much needed solidity to The Pears’ batting.

    It’s tough, attritional cricket.

  8. Postpublished at 14:23 British Summer Time 25 April

    Surrey v Somerset 116-2

Lovely timing from Tom Lammonby, who pushes Gus Atkinson to deep cover point and only a diving stop prevents four.

    He'll get a couple.

Five singles off the over in total as Somerset rebuild following the loss of Archie Vaughan and Tom Abell in quick succession.

  9. Postpublished at 14:19 British Summer Time 25 April

    Surrey v Somerset 111-2

Tom Banton alternates between defending with a thick outside edge, dropping the ball in front of the slips and off the face, blocking down the ground.

He's nearly foxed by a leg cutter as he plays down the wrong line and the ball misses the outside edge.

He'll get two more runs nudged into the leg side.

  10. Division Two updatepublished at 14:19 British Summer Time 25 April

    #bbccricket

    Gloucestershire 125-7 v Leicestershire

The hosts are into three figures now as James Bracey and Zaman Akhter look to steady the ship and have built of partnership of 37 - their biggest of the innings so far.

    Derbyshire 100-1 v Middlesex

Derbyshire reach three figures as David Lloyd (53*) and Harry Came (39*) look to take their partnership to the same milestone, having come together at 5-1.

    Simpson c Duckett b Hutton 14 (Nottinghamshire v Sussex 116-6)

    Notts celebrateImage source, Rex Features

Brett Hutton bags a fourth as John Simpson is squared up from around the wicket with one that seems to jump a bit of a good length.

Simpson can't adjust in time and it takes the shoulder of the left-hander's bat and loops kindly for Ben Duckett to pouch a gimme at second slip.

Simpson had thrashed the first ball of the over through backward point for four but his blossoming knock is pruned.

  12. Postpublished at 14:15 British Summer Time 25 April

    Surrey v Somerset 108-2

Gus Atkinson is into his 12th over of the innings and Tom Banton is on the back foot, pushing through the off side for a single.

One more run to the other Tom (Lammonby) pushing to gully on the front foot.

He beats Banton outside off and appears to be up a yard of pace in this spell of bowling.

  13. Postpublished at 14:11 British Summer Time 25 April

    Surrey v Somerset 106-2

Dan Worrall is again trying to entice the drive with a bit of away movement just outside off but Tom Banton resists this time.

We have a pause in play as Dan Worrall isn't happy with the condition of the ball but there's no change.

He's actually hobbling a little on his follow through but still completes his 10th over and has Banton squared up and missing outside off.

Banton recovers to keep the strike with a single pushed through point.

  14. 100 reached for Sussexpublished at 14:10 British Summer Time 25 April

    Nottinghamshire v Sussex 108-5

Ton-up for Sussex thanks to perhaps the most elegant stroke of the day from skipper John Simpson.

Gentle inswing from Brett Hutton, Simpson stands tall, watches it on to the bat and punches it back through mid-on with the sharpest of high elbows.

Two balls later the left-hander adjusts to one that keeps a touch low and whips that through mid-wicket for four with a bit of a swivel.

Just to keep Simpson on his toes, Hutton beats him twice outside the off stump all ends up.

    Nice reply.

  15. Postpublished at 14:06 British Summer Time 25 April

    Surrey v Somerset 103-2

Tom Lammonby gets a bit of respite with a leg side ball from Gus Atkinson, which he tucks away behind square for one to take Somerset to 100 in the 34th over.

Tom Banton is off the mark with three to backward point as he presses forward.

  16. Two quick wickets for Surrey after lunchpublished at 14:03 British Summer Time 25 April

    Surrey v Somerset 99-2

    Mark Church
    BBC Radio London commentator

It has swung a touch. It's in a nice area. Good low catch by Ollie Pope.

    Abell c Pope b Worrall 0 (Surrey v Somerset 99-2)

    Dan WorrallImage source, Rex Features

A lovely piece of bowling from Gus Atkinson, who beats Tom Abell outside off stump straight after dismissing Archie Vaughan.

Tom Lammonby pushes Dan Worrall down the ground for one.

Abell leaves at the last moment outside off. Encouragement for Surrey.

Out! Abell departs for now score, driving and edging behind to second slipper, Ollie Pope.

Good low catch this time. Where's this game going now?

Another Tom comes in. Tom Banton.

  18. 50 runs

50 for David Lloydpublished at 14:02 British Summer Time 25 April

    Derbyshire 98-1 v Middlesex

A thick outside edge off Dane Paterson races past the slips and away for four, David Lloyd's seventh, to bring up his half-century from 103 deliveries.

That's the 32-year-old's 27th in first-class cricket and first this season.

  19. Tongue roughed him uppublished at 13:59 British Summer Time 25 April

    Nottinghamshire v Sussex 90-5

    Dave Bracegirdle
    BBC Radio Nottingham commentator

Tongue roughed him up, made him feel uncomfortable, he hurt him with a short ball.

It was banged in short again and clearly Coles didn't want to take another one in that area and just spooned it.

It comes back to that X-factor. Is there anyone else in the Notts side who can do that?

  20. Postpublished at 13:55 British Summer Time 25 April

Maybe a momentary loss of concentration. Good piece of bowling.
