  1. Postpublished at 11:31 British Summer Time 27 April

    Surrey 344-8 v Somerset 283

Beauty from Migael Pretorius, drawing Dan Worrall into a shot and getting bounce and seam movement away from the bat.

We've seen a bit of that from the Vauxhall End for much of the game.

Worrall drives the fourth ball straight but hasn't got the ball away.

Off the toe end rather than the sweet spot.

The sixth ball is leg side and tapped away for one.

  2. Postpublished at 11:28 British Summer Time 27 April

    Gloucestershire 252 & 97-3 v Leicestershire 262

Ian Holland has 3-25 from 16 overs but those figures could have been even better.

He's beaten the edge on numerous occasions and leaves Miles Hammond sucking his teeth after another play and miss to end his latest over.

The Foxes have found the edge a few times in the half-dozen overs at the end of yesterday and early this morning but have been unable to cling on in the slips.

Cam Bancroft has been put down twice but remains on 42* and his side are 87 ahead.

  3. 6 runs

Postpublished at 11:28 British Summer Time 27 April

    Notts 300 v Sussex 169 & 212-7 (lead by 81 runs)

Shouts of "Catch it" are redirected mid flight towards those in the stands after a swing and a top edge by John Simpson sails over the rope.

Sussex have added 17 to their overnight total and we have a change of bowling with Brett Hutton replacing Fergus O'Neill.

  4. Postpublished at 11:27 British Summer Time 27 April

    Surrey 343-8 v Somerset 283

Dan Worrall is carefully forward to block Josh Davey down the ground.

There's a half shout for a leg side catch as Worrall misses an attempted swish to fine leg.

There was a noise but perhaps bat hitting pad? Not out anyway.

Worrall launches into a lofted off drive and he'll get one run to extra cover.

  5. Postpublished at 11:24 British Summer Time 27 April

    Derbyshire 472 v Middlesex 120-4

Blake Cullen gets a stroke of luck as Zak Chappell finds an edge which flies into the slips but deflects away off the hand of Caleb Jewell at first slip as he dives to his right.

Sharp chance but a chance nonetheless.

  6. Postpublished at 11:23 British Summer Time 27 April

    Surrey 342-8 v Somerset 283

Dan Worrall runs a leg bye first ball and trades singles with Dan Lawrence to see out the Migael Pretorius over.

Worrall will be on strike to face Josh Davey.

  7. 'Much of the damage has been done'published at 11:22 British Summer Time 27 April

    Notts 300 v Sussex 169 & 199-7

    Dave Bracegirdle
    BBC Radio Nottingham commentator

You feel much of the damage has been done in this innings.

Sussex really need the lower order to get some runs here.

Notts have been much the better side.

  8. wicket

WICKETpublished at 11:20 British Summer Time 27 April

    Atkinson c sub (Ogborne) b Pretorius 25 (Surrey 339-8 v Somerset 283)

Surrey will fully expect to reach 350 now.

10 overs left as far as batting bonus points is concerned so might they have a dart at 400?

Out! Gus Atkinson is caught at mid on trying to drive Migael Pretorius!

Great catch by the sub, Alfie Ogborne as that was taken at head height with the ball flying off the willow.

Now then! Dan Worrall is coming in to bat.

  9. Postpublished at 11:18 British Summer Time 27 April

    Gloucestershire 252 & 93-3 v Leicestershire 262

Cam Bancroft has survived an early drop and a strong lbw shout in the opening 15 minutes of the morning, while Miles Hammond has taken a blow to the chest, in a similar way to the one which forced Ben Cox off yesterday afternoon.

Cox underwent a scan on his chest last night but was given the all-clear. He returned to produce a gritty half-century to haul his side to a batting point.

The lead is 83 but the Foxes are applying plenty of pressure.

  10. Postpublished at 11:17 British Summer Time 27 April

    Surrey 339-7 v Somerset 283

Good ball from Josh Davey, getting Gus Atkinson playing down the wrong line with a missed flick to leg but he gets hold of the next ball, whipping it behind square on the leg side for four.

Planting the front foot, back foot in the air at the point of contact.

Didn't we used to call that the "flamingo" shot?

  11. 200 runs

200 up for Sussexpublished at 11:17 British Summer Time 27 April

    Notts 300 v Sussex 169 & 200-7 (lead by 69 runs)

Single for Jack Carson off the bowling of Fergus O'Neill brings up the first milestone of the morning, the Sussex pair scurrying 22 yards to extend the lead to 69 runs.

  12. Postpublished at 11:12 British Summer Time 27 April

    Surrey 333-7 v Somerset 283

Migael Pretorius starts his second over of the day with a no ball and follows that up with a half volley, delightfully driven straight down the ground by Gus Atkinson for four.

That only just missed the timbers at the other end. 50 ahead now.

Pretorius adjusts his lengths and beats the batter outside off.

Atkinson survives and LBW shout, missing a glance to leg.

    Too leg side.

  13. wicket

WICKETpublished at 11:11 British Summer Time 27 April

    Higgins c Thomson b Chappell 26 (Derbyshire 472 v Middlesex 109-4)

What a catch from Alex Thomson, diving to his left at square leg to pluck a clip off the pads from Ryan Higgins off Zak Chappell out of the air.

Higgins departs for 26 and Middlesex are in bother. 363 behind and well short of the follow on target.

The good news for the visitors is Leus du Plooy is able to bat, with Max Holden as his runner. He resumes on 10* after retiring after being hit on the foot by Luis Reece yesterday evening.

  14. Postpublished at 11:08 British Summer Time 27 April

    Surrey 327-7 v Somerset 283

Josh Davey will bowl the second over of the day.

Gus Atkinson drives and takes a single to the sweeper at deep extra cover.

Single to Dan Lawrence flicking a leg side ball behind square and Atkinson gets one more off the same shot.

  15. Postpublished at 11:06 British Summer Time 27 April

    Notts 300 v Sussex 169 & 199-7 (lead by 68 runs)

Right hander Jack Carson is beaten on his outside edge by Josh Tongue who gets that one to leave him off the pitch.

Kyle Verreynne makes a polite inquiry behind the stumps which is equally politely turned down.

  16. wicket

WICKETpublished at 11:06 British Summer Time 27 April

    Goodman b Holland 0 (Gloucestershire 252 & 89-3 v Leicestershire 262

Ian Holland has his third wicket, seaming one back in brilliantly and demolishing the top of Dom Goodman's middle and leg-stump as he tries a push into the off side.

All-action start as Cam Bancroft was also dropped in the slips in the opening over of the day.

The Foxes are trying to make inroads, with the hosts now 79 ahead.

Miles Hammond is the new man in.

  17. Postpublished at 11:04 British Summer Time 27 April

    Surrey 324-7 v Somerset 283

Gus Atkinson starts with a firm drive through extra cover.

It only brings a single but the intent is clear.

Dan Lawrence defends down the ground first up and then finds a gap, driving between cover and mid off for one.

Definite movement for Pretorius as he gets away movement and carry outside off stump.

Atkinson drives and misses. He connects to get one off the last ball.

  18. Play resumes at Bristolpublished at 11:02 British Summer Time 27 April

    Gloucestershire 252 & 88-2 v Leicestershire 262

Cam Bancroft (36*) and nightwatcher Dom Goodman (0*) begin their quest to turn the hosts lead of 78 into something significantly more imposing.

  19. Under way at Trent Bridgepublished at 11:01 British Summer Time 27 April

    Notts 300 v Sussex 169 & 195-7 (lead by 64 runs)

John Simpson takes strike as play gets under way on day three in bright sunshine at Trent Bridge.

Josh Tongue has the ball in hand at the Stuart Broad End.

The eighth wicket partnership with Jack Carson is worth 28, the lead is slender and Notts are heavy favourites.

  20. Start of play at Derbypublished at 11:00 British Summer Time 27 April

    Derbyshire 472 v Middlesex 101-3

Ryan Higgins (22*) and nightwatcher Blake Cullen (8*) are out in the middle.

Middlesex need 222 to avoid the follow on, with seven wickets in hand - possibly six if Leus du Plooy is unable to return due to a foot injury... though he might be able to bat with a runner.

Zak Chappell takes the opening over of the day in the sunshine at Derby.
