  1. 'His resistance is brought to an end'published at 13:02 British Summer Time 27 April

    Notts 300 v Sussex 169 & 275-9

    Adrian Harms
    BBC Sussex

Robinson did push at it, Veryeynne with the catch, he gobbles it up.

His resistance is brought to an end.

He wasn't out in the way I thought he would be, it was just very good bowling.

  2. Lunch at Derbypublished at 13:02 British Summer Time 27 April

    Derbyshire 472 v Middlesex 199-5

Middlesex trail by 273 runs with five wickets in hand at lunch at Derby.

Leus du Plooy remains there on 48* from 130 balls and is key to everything this afternoon, though Ben Geddes has a breezy 13* at the other end.

124 needed to pass the follow-on target...

  3. wicket

WICKETpublished at 13:00 British Summer Time 27 April

    Robinson c Verreynne b Ahmed 5 (Sussex 275-9, lead by 144 runs)

The breakthrough comes in the last over before lunch... which now means Notts will be given extra time to take this last wicket.

Another smart piece of captaincy from Haseeb Hameed who throws the ball to Farhan Ahmed and the spinner finds the edge of Ollie Robinson's bat.

The Sussex man was not drawn into an injudicious shot as is often the case, plonking a big stride and presenting a firm defensive block.

But he has misjudged the line and it has feathered the edge with Kyle Verreynne taking a smart catch standing close up behind the stumps.

  4. wicket

WICKET (and lunch at Bristol)published at 12:59 British Summer Time 27 April

Patel lbw b Goodman 0 (Leicestershire 0-1 - target 143 to beat Gloucestershire)

    Wow.

    Third ball.

Dom Goodman is the on the money and beats Rishi Patel's drive for pace and thumps the pad. No doubter. He bowled Patel offering no shot for one in the first innings too.

The perfect mini-session for the hosts and lunch will now be taken...

  5. Postpublished at 12:59 British Summer Time 27 April

    Surrey 367 v Somerset 283 & 30-2

Tom Lammonby threw a glove up in the air on his way off the field in disappointment.

Somerset will try to shut up shop till the interval now, probably.

Josh Davey is forward in block mode, facing Jordan Clark.

He gets away with a shorter ball, fencing at it and nudging the ball wide of the two slips for four.

Played it with soft hands to be fair.

    Three slips in now.

Davey is forward, squeezing a ball leg side off a thick edge for a single.

  6. Postpublished at 12:57 British Summer Time 27 April

    Notts 300 v Sussex 169 & 275-8 (lead by 144 runs)

Big swing and a top edge from Ollie Robinson which falls just short of Fergus O'Neill coming in from the third man boundary.

Robinson does not seem too keen on being in the firing line here with Josh Tongue generating a bit of pace and bounce.

For his part, Tongue was not best pleased and has overstretched a little in retaliation, firing a very loose ball for four wides.

John Simpson hits the extra ball for four and that is 12 off the over.

  7. Leicestershire begin chase of 143 at Bristolpublished at 12:56 British Summer Time 27 April

Leicestershire 0-0 - target 143 to beat Gloucestershire

Rishi Patel and Sol Budinger head out to face at least an over before lunch.

Dom Goodman has the new ball in hand, looking to follow his 5-54 in the first innings.

  8. wicket

WICKETpublished at 12:53 British Summer Time 27 April

    Lammonby LBW b Lawrence 12 (Surrey 367 v Somerset 283 & 25-2)

Double bowling change. Dan Lawrence is in to bowl some off spin.

Tom Lammonby clips the first ball off his pads for one.

We have a slip and leg slip in for Josh Davey.

Davey is forward and across to defend.

The fourth ball is driven to deep cover for one, going well forward.

Out! Tom Lammonby is back to defend and he's missed it.

Struck on the pad in front of all three.

    Tom Abell is in.

  9. Postpublished at 12:49 British Summer Time 27 April

    Surrey 367 v Somerset 283 & 23-1

We have our first bowling change of the innings.

Jordan Clark is coming on for Gus Atkinson.

He was the pick of the bowlers in the first innings after a slightly costly start.

He bowls wide of the off stump to start and then nearly foxes Josh Davey with a delivery that jags in and is squeezed into the on side.

That nearly runs back into the stumps.

    Maiden over.

  10. GLOUCESTERSHIRE 152 ALL-OUTpublished at 12:48 British Summer Time 27 April

Leicestershire need 143 to win at Bristol

Ian Holland celebratesImage source, Rex Features

Ajeet Singh Dale goes for a duck, edging high to the keeper giving Ian Holland figures of 4-42.

That's 64-8 this morning and Gloucestershire have collapsed from 87-1 late last night to 152 all out.

The Foxes have the chance to extend their lead at the top of Division One this afternoon, but make no mistake, it won't be an easy chase on this track, in these conditions, with the home seam attack.

They'll have time for an over before lunch.

  11. Postpublished at 12:47 British Summer Time 27 April

    Notts 300 v Sussex 169 & 260-8 (lead by 129 runs)

John Simpson and Ollie Robinson are a looking a bit harem scarem between the wickets giving a couple of outside chances for run outs in the last two overs.

But Josh Tongue has beaten the bat twice with this newish ball from the Radcliffe Road End which could just be encouraging Simpson to take a few more risks.

  12. Postpublished at 12:45 British Summer Time 27 April

    Surrey 367 v Somerset 283 & 23-1

Dan Worrall angles the ball across the left-handed Tom Lammonby, who leaves it well alone.

Will he bring a ball back in?

Yes, fifth ball and that one is blocked into the leg side.

Another block next ball and that's a maiden over.

  13. wicket

WICKETpublished at 12:44 British Summer Time 27 April

    Akhter b Hull 16 (Gloucestershire 252 & 147-9 v Leicestershire 262)

Josh Hull bowls himImage source, Rex Features

Josh Hull saw Josh Shaw dropped by Ben Green at slip from the previous delivery but makes amends, and for his earlier non-wicket off a no-ball as he slings in a yorker which demolishes Zaman Akhter's stumps as he steps back to make room to cut away.

137-9 but Akhter's cameo has made Leicestershire's target more imposing than it might have been...

Ajeet Singh Dale joins Shaw to try and produce a late flurry of runs...

  14. Postpublished at 12:40 British Summer Time 27 April

    Surrey 367 v Somerset 283 & 23-1

Dan Worrall continues from the Vauxhall End and Tom Lammonby is leaving the ball on width outside off stump.

    Maiden over.

Single to Josh Davey to the leg side off Gus Atkinson.

Tom Lammonby picks up three with a glance to square leg and then Davey ducks a bouncer to see out the over. 61 behind.

  15. 'Notts have that breakthrough'published at 12:39 British Summer Time 27 April

    Notts 300 v Sussex 169 & 254-8

    Dave Bracegirdle
    BBC Radio Nottingham commentator

A nice decision by Ahmed to bring the sub fielder McCann into mid-wicket, it's chipped straight to him.

Notts have that breakthrough, Jack Carson is out for a splendid 43.

  16. du Plooy dropped on 35published at 12:39 British Summer Time 27 April

    Derbyshire 472 v Middlesex 173-5

Tough chance for Harry Came under the lid at short leg but he gets both hands to the ball as Leus du Plooy tries to clip into the leg side but can't hold on diving low to his right.

He feels like the prize scalp for his former teammates here, even on one leg.

Potentially the difference between being able to enforced he follow on and not...

  17. wicket

WICKETpublished at 12:38 British Summer Time 27 April

    Carson c sub (McCann) b Hutton 43 (Sussex 254-8, lead by 123)

Brett Hutton celebratesImage source, Rex Features

Smart piece of captaincy that from Haseeb Hameed who brings in the sub fielder Freddie McCann to a shortish midwicket.

Brett Hutton fires one in and Jack Carson leans into a clip to leg but succeeds only in chipping to McCann who takes a safe catch.

Carson is visibly annoyed with himself as he walks off but he has done well, partnering John Simpson to 87 runs for the eighth wicket.

Still a significant breakthrough in the context of the game for Notts.

  18. wicket

WICKETpublished at 12:34 British Summer Time 27 April

    Cullen c Guest b Reece 42 (Derbyshire 472 v Middlesex 169-5)

    Blake Cullen's watch is over.

Luis Reece finds the edge as Vullen flashes a drive and Brooke Guest does the rest behind the timbers.

The deficit is still 303. 154 needed to avoid the follow-on. Five wickets in hand.

Ben Geddes joins Leus du Plooy in the middle.

  19. Postpublished at 12:32 British Summer Time 27 April

    Surrey 367 v Somerset 283 & 19-1

Gus Atkinson is into his third over of the day and Josh Davey (now with his third bat of the innings) blocks into the off side.

Shot! A bit leg side from Atkinson this time and glanced in front of square leg for four runs.

He blocks the fifth ball into the leg side and just for a moment he loses track of the ball, which dribbles away safely.

That was played more off the edge of the blade.

  20. Postpublished at 12:32 British Summer Time 27 April

    Gloucestershire 252 & 142-8 v Leicestershire 262

Josh Hull has bowled Zaman Akhter off a no-ball and the ball has raced away off leg stump to the boundary for four byes.

    Don't overstep, kids.

    How costly could that be?
