  1. 100 runs

100 for McCannpublished at 17:17 British Summer Time

    Notts 266-6 v Hants

That is a tremendous knock from the young Nottinghamshire batsman and a third first class century in only his 10th first class outing.

  2. 'Essex worked hard and put pressure on'published at 17:17 British Summer Time

    Essex v Yorks 216

    Victoria Polley
    BBC Essex Sports Editor

Essex can be really pleased with their efforts with the ball.

It didn’t look like the pitch was doing much early on but they worked hard and put pressure on to stem the Yorkshire runs

The visitors haven’t helped themselves at times with the bat but it’ll be interesting to see how Essex reply considering the absentees in Paul Walter and Jordan Cox from their line-up.

  3. Postpublished at 79.5 overs

    Kent v Glamorgan 326-4

Ben Kellaway is catching Colin Ingram up.

He square cuts Jack Leaning for four and when he tries to repeat the shot two balls later, it flies to the third man boundary off the top edge.

Kellaway is 64 not out and Ingram has 70 as the new ball becomes available for Kent. The stand is now worth 133.

  4. Postpublished at 17:14 British Summer Time

    Northants 238 v Lancs 54-2

It's been a really consistent opening spell from Northamptonshire seamer Harry Conway, with just four runs conceded in his four overs so far.

Three of those came from the last ball of those 24, a cover drive by Marcus Harris who has played and missed on more than one occasion but has finally advanced into double figures.

  5. 'Fully deserved for Essex'published at 17:13 British Summer Time

    Essex v Yorks 216

    Jonathan Doidge
    BBC Radio Leeds cricket commentator

It's fully deserved as far as the hosts are concerned, there's no argument with that.

This has been exemplary, they've been consistent with the ball. It's a good pitch on the first day with the sun shining.

That's a very disappointing effort by Yorkshire with the bat and a very good effort by Essex.

  6. Warwickshire total passes 300published at 78.1 overs

    Warks 301-4 v Surrey

Ed Barnard drives Dan Lawrence for four as Warwickshire collect their second batting point.

Two overs to go to the new ball - Tom Lawes will bowl the next one and is pulled away fine for four by Tom Latham, who is now 110 not out.

  7. 250 runs

250 for Nottspublished at 17:10 British Summer Time

    Notts 250-6 v Hants

Liam Patterson-White certainly loves a cover drive and is proving adept at piercing the field on that side with a third four (this one off Sonny Baker) which brings up a first batting bonus point for Notts.

He can clip that into his highlights reel to go with two more in the previous over from Liam Dawson.

  8. YORKSHIRE ALL OUT FOR 216published at 17:07 British Summer Time

Poor James Wharton is stranded on 63 not out as last man Jack White prods Matt Critchley to slip.

The Essex leg-spinner finishes with 4-49 and that completes a startling collapse by Yorkshire, who were 108-1 earlier this afternoon.

  9. Postpublished at 17:05 British Summer Time

    Northants 238 v Lancs 45-2

Marcus Harris made an uncertain start, with two streaky boundaries off Ben Sanderson, but he and Keaton Jennings have steadied the Lancashire ship after those two early wickets.

Jennings has looked in good touch for his 32 so far, while Harris has nine and the visitors trail by 193.

  10. wicket

WICKETpublished at 17:02 British Summer Time

    Moriarty lbw b Thain 24 (Essex v Yorkshire 209-9)

Noah Thain clearly wasn't too happy with being hit for successive boundaries by a tailender - and he sets the record straight by trapping Dan Moriarty in front.

The left-hander departs after making 24 from 19 balls - and now it's down to last man Jack White to try and keep James Wharton company a little longer.

  11. 50 runs

for Ben Kellawaypublished at 17:02 British Summer Time

    Kent v Glamorgan 308-4

Ben Kellaway pushes a single off Matt Parkinson and a single takes him to 50 from 83 balls.

It is his third half-century of the season - and third of his career.

Can he go on now and beat his career-best score of 74?

  12. Carson shows 'no demons in the pitch'published at 17:01 British Summer Time

    Sussex 244-9 v Worcestershire - tea

    Adrian Harms
    BBC Sussex

A good session for Sussex who have recovered from the depths of 88-6 just after lunch

Off- spinner Jack Carson who is gaining a reputation as a more than useful all-rounder, has led the recovery, playing straight and dispatching the bad ball, he’s shown there are no demons in the pitch.

Having won the toss, Worcestershire would probably have settled for taking nine Sussex wickets in two sessions, but they’ll be disappointed that the last four have so far added 156

  13. 200 runs

200 up for Yorkshirepublished at 16:59 British Summer Time

    Essex v Yorks 209-8

Dan Moriarty is making sure the Yorkshire tail indulges in a certain degree of wagging.

The Tykes' no 10 has hauled his side above the 200 mark with a series of boundaries - in fact all 24 of his runs have been fours so far.

A straight drive off Noah Thain - who's just come on the bowl after missing the morning session with a hand injury - ushered the visitors beyond the landmark.

Jack Carson is unbeaten on 81 at tea

An extended afternoon session finally concludes with Worcs unable to take the final wicket that extra half hour afforded them.

Jack Carson has batted with intent and discipline to reach an unbeaten 81 and James Hayes has provided more than adequate support for an No 11.

From 88-6 Sussex would have bitten off any hand offering a batting bonus point but they go in six runs away from that mark.

  15. Second batting point for Glamorganpublished at 16:56 British Summer Time

    Kent v Glamorgan 301-4

Ben Kellaway sweeps Matt Parkinson, sprints through for two and the Glamorgan total passes 300.

These two - Kellaway and Colin Ingram - have added 118 since the dismissal of Asa Tribe for 94.

  16. wicket

WICKETpublished at 16:54 British Summer Time

    James b Dawson 33 (Notts 231-6 v Hants)

Lyndon James's hour long stay at the crease ends as he misses a late cut and loses his off stump.

  17. 'Instant impact from Latham'published at 16:53 British Summer Time

    Warks 285-4 v Surrey

    Richard Wilford
    BBC Radio WM commentator

It's a century on debut for Tom Latham!

He gets a great hand from his new home support. It's an instant impact from the Bears' new overseas player.

  18. 100 runs

for Tom Lathampublished at 16:50 British Summer Time

    Warks 285-4 v Surrey

    Well played, Tom Latham.

The New Zealand Test batsman marks his Warwickshire debut with a century as his steers Tom Lawes to backward point and comes back for two.

It has taken him 161 balls and he has hit a six and 17 fours in the 27th first-class hundred of his career.

  19. 'Ben Coad departs with no runs'published at 16:49 British Summer Time

    Essex v Yorks 176-8

    Victoria Polley
    BBC Essex Sports Editor

It looked like a nothing shot, Ben Coad will depart without scoring.

He looks very dejected as he walks off. It was such a calm catch as Jamie Porter just had to wait for it to come to him.

We could tell he wasn't a happy bunny up here as he walked back to the pavilion.

  20. wicket

    WICKETpublished at 71.5 overs

    Webster b Lawrence 15 (Warks 281-4 v Surrey)

    Well, well, well....

That is a very loose defensive stroke by Beau Webster, who is bowled through the gate by one from Dan Lawrence which turns back from outside off stump.

Given the number of overs he is sending down these days, it's probably time to start calling Lawrence an all-rounder.
