  1. 50 runs

50 for Lewis McManuspublished at 15:18 British Summer Time 9 May

    Northants 213-8 v Lancs

Excellent knock by Lewis McManus, who goes to his second half-century of the season.

The first of them also came against Lancashire at Old Trafford last month.

What an impressive effort from Liam Guthrie, too - the Northants no 10 has helped McManus to usher this innings towards something very respectable.

  2. Postpublished at 15:16 British Summer Time 9 May

    Essex v Yorks 128-5

The hat-trick ball is wide outside off stump and Matt Revis leaves well alone.

But there's no doubt that the tone of this match has swung in a big way over the last two overs.

Two in two balls for Jamie Porter!

George Hill is caught behind off an inside edge for a first-ball duck.

Matt Revis comes in to face the hat-trick ball.

  4. 50 runs

50 for McCannpublished at 15:12 British Summer Time 9 May

    Notts 153-4 v Hants

A second half century of the season for Freddie McCann and a much needed 71-run partnership growing between him and Kyle Verreynne.

    Bairstow lbw b Porter 2 (Essex v Yorkshire 128-4)

Yorkshire in a spot of trouble now as Jonny Bairstow falls cheaply...

Jamie Porter brings one back at the visiting captain, who is struck on the pad and it's enough to convince the umpire to send him on his way.

  6. 'Change of approach rewarding Worcestershire'published at 15:07 British Summer Time 9 May

    Sussex 134-7 v Worcs

    Adrian Harms
    BBC Sussex

Sussex have contributed to their own downfall here.

I said Ben Gibbon wasn't happy with that previous delivery and he decided to change the angle of attack. He decided to come around the wicket instead of over the wicket and it's instantly brought reward.

It's a good catch by Roderick, but you've got to say it's a poor shot.

  7. wicket

    Tattersall c Das b Critchley 4 (Essex v Yorkshire 125-3)

Jonny Tattersall's first innings of the summer for Yorkshire doesn't last all that long...

Tattersall tries to play Matt Critchley away on the leg side and turns it straight into the hands of the short leg fielder.

Essex just getting their noses in front now, perhaps, as Yorkshire captain Jonny Bairstow comes to the crease.

    Tribe b Parkinson 94 (Kent v Glamorgan 192-4)

Matt Parkinson celebratesImage source, Getty Images

What a shame - maybe Kent wouldn't have begrudged him six more runs.

Having moved into the 90s with four runs off Kashif Ali - it wasn't the most elegant cover drive, he played it with a kind of shovelling motion - Asa Tribe is bowled through the gate by what we must presume was Matt Parkinson's googly.

It was a loose defensive shot by the 21-year-old from Jersey, who batted for 206 minutes, faced 135 balls and hit 16 fours.

  9. wicket

WICKETpublished at 14:58 British Summer Time 9 May

    Hudson-Prentice c Roderick b Gibbon 22 (Sussex 126-7 v Worcs)

A change of angle brings a wicket for Ben Gibbon.

The big left armer switches around the wicket to Fynn Hudson-Prentice and he is rewarded with a nick behind.

In truth, that should have been defended or left but FHP has dangled a bat and he is furious with himself.

It brings to an end a partnership of 38 with Jack Carson and brings Ollie Robinson to the wicket.

  10. wicket

    Yates c Foakes b Lawes 86 (Warks 182-2 v Surrey)

A disappointing end for Rob Yates.

He tries to pull the first ball of a new Tom Lawes spell but only gets an under-edge and Ben Foakes dives to his right to take a fine leg-side catch.

Other wicketkeepers may not have made up the ground to that one, but Foakes is....well, Foakestastic. Best in the business?

Yates added 112 with Tom Latham, who has now been joined by Sam Hain.

    Kent v Glamorgan 179-3

Time for a drink and a change of gloves for Asa Tribe

That's a fraction too short from Matt Parkinson and Asa Tribe has plenty of time to rock back and pick the gap in the cover field.

Four runs for the 21-year-old Glamorgan opener, who now has 86 not out - surpassing his previous career-best first-class score of 70.

  12. Postpublished at 48.1 overs

    Warks 178-1 v Surrey

New over from Nathan Smith and Rob Yates pulls his opening delivery away over the used pitches for a four to mid-wicket.

He moves into the 80s and must have a second Championship hundred of the season in his sights now.

Looks like we are going to have a ball change..... wonder if the replacement will be more conducive for Surrey.

    Lyth lbw b Rajitha 58 (Essex v Yorkshire 108-2)

Kasun Rajitha (L)Image source, Rex Features

Finally the Essex pressure tells as Kasun Rajitha takes a wicket!

The seamer slants the ball back at Adam Lyth from around the wicket and traps him in front of his stumps.

The umpire's finger is raised, Lyth is on his way and Jonny Tattersall - back in the Yorkshire side for the first time this season - makes his way to the middle.

  14. Postpublished at 14:40 British Summer Time 9 May

    Essex v Yorks 107-1

Essex may not be taking wickets, but they've certainly strangled this Yorkshire innings at times.

The batters are unable to get Simon Harmer away and Sri Lankan seamer Kasun Rajitha is doing a similar job at the other end.

So far, no sign of Adam Lyth or James Wharton losing concentration, but they'll need to break the shackles at some stage.

  15. wicket

    Carlson c DBD b Ali 16 (Kent v Glamorgan 171-3)

Kashif Ali celebrates a wicketImage source, Getty Images

    What a brilliant catch.

Kashif Ali finds the edge of Kiran Carlson's bat and Kent skipper Daniel Bell-Drummond manages to take a one-handed grab, diving to his right at third slip.

No wonder the bowler and other fielders in the cordon are exultant.

  16. 'Good partnership for Warwickshire'published at 14:37 British Summer Time 9 May

    Warks 170-1 v Surrey

    Melinda Farrell
Sports broadcaster/journalist on BBC Hereford & Worcestershire

This has been a good partnership for Warwickshire.

Nathan Smith has been as experienced and as solid as you can imagine.

Yates has not always had everything come off the middle of the bat but he has just been patient and kept going out there.

    Notts 124-4 v Hants

Funny how batting can suddenly look easier.

While the softening ball is undoubtedly helping, Freddie McCann has done well here to stop a rot which had set into Notts' innings.

He is up to 37 and, in South African Kyle Verreynne (15), he has a willing and nuggety partner as Notts try to rebuild some of the damage from the second half of the morning session.

Verreynne's 128 helped his side draw with Essex in the second round of games. McCann scored a half century earlier this season against Durham.

    Sanderson lbw b Williams 19 (Northants 159-8 v Lancs)

It was an entertaining cameo by Ben Sanderson, but now it's brought to an end as he swings across the line at Will Williams.

Sanderson's knock of 19 from just 12 balls included three fours and those could prove to be valuable runs for Northamptonshire.

Can they clamber up to 200? Liam Guthrie is out there now to join Lewis McManus.

  19. 100 partnership for Warwickshirepublished at 44.3 overs

    Warks 170-1 v Surrey

Tom Latham helps a short ball from Nathan Smith down to long leg for an easy single as he and Rob Yates post a century stand for Warwickshire's second wicket.

It has taken them 151 balls since Alex Davies was bowled by Dan Lawrence during the morning session. Latham is now 44 not out.

  20. 150 runs

150 up for Northantspublished at 14:31 British Summer Time 9 May

    Northants 150-7 v Lancs

Lewis McManus hasn't let the departure of Calvin Harrison slow his progress - he's continued to score quickly and takes the Northamptonshire total to 150.

That looked unlikely when Lancashire reduced them to 67-6 this morning, but McManus - who has just belted Anderson Phillip to the cover boundary - has given the home side hope of posting a total they can work with.
