    Kent v Glamorgan 271-4

Glamorgan successfully negotiate the final over before tea at the Spitfire Ground, bowling by Matt Parkinson, having added 143 during the afternoon for the loss of three wickets.

Chief among them was opener Asa Tribe, who was just six runs short of what would have been a maiden first-class hundred when he was bowled by Parkinson's googly.

Sam Northeast (42) and Kiran Carlson (16) were the other batsmen to go - the latter falling to a quite sensational catch by Daniel Bell-Drummond at third slip.

Colin Ingram is 55 not out and Ben Kellaway has 24, the pair having so far put on 78 for the fifth wicket.

  2. 200 runs

200 for Sussexpublished at 16:02 British Summer Time 9 May

    Sussex 202-8 v Worcs

Milestone for Sussex and one they probably doubted they would pass when they were 88-6.

Much of the credit goes to Jack Carson, who takes the single off Fateh Singh. The Sussex all-rounder is now up to 61.

  3. 50 runs

for Colin Ingrampublished at 59.1 overs

    Kent v Glamorgan 261-4

It's been an enterprising innings by Colin Ingram but that certainly wasn't his best shot.

A checked drive results in outside edge which runs away to third man for four and carries him to 50 off 47 balls.

He already has a century and three other 50s this season and now has 431 runs in total.

  4. 'Tough catch to deal with'published at 15:54 British Summer Time 9 May

    Notts 168-5 v Hants

    Kevan James
    BBC Radio Solent commentator

That was a tough one for James Fuller.

He couldn't quite get his fingers underneath it. Out of the three dropped catches on the slips, that's the hardest one to deal with.

  5. Tea at Edgbastonpublished at 63.1 overs

    Warwickshire 251-3 v Surrey

Jordan Clark strikes with the first ball of a new over as Sam Hain obligingly clips a catch to Dan Lawrence at square leg, and the umpires decide tea will be taken.

Hain departs for 26 and will be cross with himself for a loose shot after he and Tom Latham had added 69 following the loss of opening bat Rob Yates for 86.

Latham remains on 84 not out, a patient knock in his first County Championship innings for the club.

Warwickshire added 130 during the afternoon, having reached lunch on 121-1.

  6. Tea at Northamptonpublished at 15:51 British Summer Time 9 May

    Northants 238 v Lancs

Liam Guthrie's hopes of a maiden first-class 50 are dashed as he holes out off George Balderson for 43.

But it's been a superb comeback by the Northamptonshire tail, who must have feared the worst after slumping to 67-6.

Balderson finished with 4-55, with Anderson Phillip taking 3-65.

  7. 50 runs

50 for Carsonpublished at 15:50 British Summer Time 9 May

    Sussex 187-8 v Worcs

That is a well-deserved and fairly fluent half century for the man from Armagh.

He came to the wicket with his side 88-6 and very much on the slide and he has taken the fight back to Worcs.

His 50 has come in just 69 balls and helped lift Sussex back to some sort of respectability.

  8. Postpublished at 63 overs

    Warks 251-2 v Surrey

There were in fact three fours in that Cameron Steel over.

Following Tom Latham's fortuitous outside edge, he paddled one round the corner for four more and then drove a full toss straight down the ground.

  9. Postpublished at 61.4 overs

    Warks 236-2 v Surrey

Tom Latham and Sam Hain reach a 50 stand and Latham celebrates by pulling Jordan Clark for four to advance to 71 not out.

He tries a similar shot off spinner Cameron Steel in the next over but is through it too soon and is lucky to see an outside edge run away fine to the boundary.

  10. Tea at Chelmsfordpublished at 15:45 British Summer Time 9 May

    Essex v Yorks 149-5

Matt Critchley sends down the final over of the afternoon session, which has certainly been a good one for Essex.

They've taken four wickets for 69 runs, although James Wharton is still there on 41 and Matt Revis, on six, has helped him get through to tea.

  11. 6 runs

Batting point for Glamorganpublished at 15:44 British Summer Time 9 May

    Kent v Glamorgan 250-4

Leg-spinner Matt Parkinson floats one up to Colin Ingram and the South African hits it straight down the ground for six to post a 50 partnership from just 49 balls with Ben Kellaway.

The left-hander jabs George Garrett away for a single in the next over as Glamorgan reach 250 and collect their first batting point.

  12. Postpublished at 15:37 British Summer Time 9 May

    Northants 224-9 v Lancs

This has been an impressive fightback by Northamptonshire.

The top order crumbled, but the tail has well and truly wagged and Liam Guthrie is keeping it going.

The Australian left-hander has thrashed six boundaries so far and is on 37 - having almost doubled his previous best first-class score.

  13. dropped catch

James dropped on 1published at 15:36 British Summer Time 9 May

    Notts 168-5 v Hants

Difficult chance low to James Fuller's right at third slip but another to go down for Hampshire as Lyndon James survives.

Notts could be all out here if they had put glue on their hands this morning.

  14. wicket

WICKETpublished at 15:34 British Summer Time 9 May

    Robinson c Libby b Brookes 10 (Sussex 162-8 v Worcs)

And that is a rather typical Ollie Robinson dimissal, dare we say it?

The former England seamer had looked in determined mood, right up to the point where he didn't, poking loosely at a wide ball from Ethan Brookes and slapping it straight to point.

Sussex needed a little bit more discipline and they were getting it from Robinson who had shared a partnership of 36 with Jack Carson.

    But that was not disciplined.

  15. Postpublished at 15:31 British Summer Time 9 May

    Kent v Glamorgan 224-4

Glamorgan are having to rebuild following the dismissal of Asa Tribe for 94.

Colin Ingram strokes George Garrett through the covers for four and is 24 not out, with Ben Kellaway on 10.

  16. 50 runs

for Tom Lathampublished at 57.2 overs

    Warks 208-2 v Surrey

Tom Latham batting for WarwickshireImage source, Getty Images

Tom Latham seems to have been on 49 for ages but he finally reaches 50 off 105 balls by pulling a short one from Jordan Clark for six.

A great way for the New Zealander to mark his first Championship appearance for Warwickshire.

Clark flexes his left leg - we mentioned earlier about him 'pulling up gingerly' during a previous spell.

  17. 200 up for Warwickshirepublished at 57 overs

    Warks 201-2 v Surrey

Sam Hain turns Tom Lawes through square leg for four and looks set for a second boundary in the over, only for committed fielding by Rory Burns, who chases the ball down to long-off and keeps it inside the rope with a full-length dive, to restrict him to three.

  18. wicket

WICKETpublished at 15:24 British Summer Time 9 May

    Verreynne lbw b Abbott 33 (Notts 160-5 v Hants)

Full, straight and hitting in front of middle and leg.

Kyle Abbott goes wide on the crease and fires it in, Kyle Verreynne looks to turn it to square leg and misses.

A third wicket for Abbott who has 3-27 but has bowled well enough for a five-for, at least.

Notts have restored a bit of credibility to a first innings total with partnership of 78 but need plenty more you would think.

  19. 'Yorkshire struggling for runs'published at 15:22 British Summer Time 9 May

    Essex v Yorks 130-5

    Victoria Polley
    BBC Essex Sports Editor

    This is good from Essex.

You felt they were building pressure but weren't getting the rewards in terms of wickets just before lunch and after lunch.

They definitely seemed like their confidence was up and they were able to create that pressure.

Adam Lyth was really the lynchpin. Since he's gone runs have been really difficult to come by for Yorkshire.

  20. wicket

WICKETpublished at 15:21 British Summer Time 9 May

    McManus c Wells b Bailey 53 (Northants 216-9 v Lancs)

All over now for half-centurion Lewis McManus, who gets a leading edge against Tom Bailey and the ball loops up for Luke Wells to run around from mid-off and pouch it safely.

McManus and Liam Guthrie had put on 57 for the ninth wicket. How vital might those prove to be in rescuing this Northamptonshire innings from the chaos of 67-6?

Last man Harry Conway comes to the crease to join Guthrie, who has 31.
