  1. wicket

WICKETpublished at 12:39 British Summer Time 9 May

    Hughes c Nicholls b Taylor 25 (Sussex 80-1 v Worcs)

A first wicket for Worcs and a high grab at second slip by Henry Nicholls.

That looks painful and the slipper looks to have dislocated a finger on his right hand.

A first breakthrough for Worcs and belated vindication for putting Sussex in.

  2. 50 runs

50 for Hainespublished at 12:36 British Summer Time 9 May

    Sussex 78-0 v Worcs

Lovely clip through midwicket by Tom Haines brings up the Sussex opener's half century as he continues his brilliant start to the season.

Scores of 141, 171, 69*, 64 and now this, have him at the top of the Division One run-scoring charts.

It has come off 67 balls and contained 12 fours.

  3. 'Fuller has completely changed the game'published at 12:35 British Summer Time 9 May

    Notts 67-2 v Hants

    Dave Bracegirdle
    BBC Radio Nottingham commentator

Two in the over for James Fuller has completely transformed the complexion of the morning here.

Hampshire are getting their rewards now, that ends a very good run for (Haseeb) Hameed.

Good things come to those who are prepared to wait and Hampshire have had to wait for this 20th over to get two wickets in the space of five deliveries.

  4. Expensive over from Lawrencepublished at 12:31 British Summer Time 9 May

    Warks 89-1 v Surrey

Rob Yates drives a ball from Dan Lawrence and a pretty half-hearted fielding attempt by Matt Fisher at mid-off costs Surrey four runs.

Lawrence finds the edge with one that turns just a little, but Yates nicks it past first slip and it runs away for another boundary.

The left-hander hasn't finished - too much width outside off stump costs the spinner two further fours in the over as Yates advances to 40 not out.

    Bean lbw b Snater 31 (Essex v Yorkshire 71-1)

    Finally, Essex have the breakthrough!

Shane Snater is back on for his second spell, bowling around the wicket and he pins Fin Bean in front as the left-hander plays across the line.

James Wharton emerges to join Adam Lyth in the middle.

  6. wicket

    Zaib c Jennings b Balderson 0 (Northants 67-6 v Lancs)

    George BaldersonImage source, Getty Images

Lancashire's bowlers are on fire this morning!

To be fair, this one is self-inflicted as Saif Zaib attempts a big drive at his second ball and slashes an edge to Keaton Jennings in the slips.

George Balderson has three wickets now and the visitors are totally on top.

  7. wicket

WICKETpublished at 12:27 British Summer Time 9 May

    Hameed c Brown b Fuller 25 (Notts 63-2 v Hants)

Two wickets in five balls for James Fuller and Haseeb Hameed is on his way as Notts lose a second wicket.

Hameed stands and practises the shot he should have executed but, in truth, there was not much he could do about that.

It is a cracking delivery, perfectly pitched which straightens at the last minute on the Notts captain and takes the edge.

Ben Brown does the honours behind the stumps.

Notts can still count themselves reasonably fortunate given the test they have got through this morning after being put in.

  8. Haines continues 'sparkling start to season'published at 12:27 British Summer Time 9 May

    Sussex 70-0 v Worcs

    Adrian Harms
    BBC Sussex

A solid start from Sussex, having been asked to bat on a pitch which looks as if it should help the seamers.

Tom Haines in particular has continued his sparkling start to the season with seven beautifully-timed boundaries

The Worcestershire bowling was initially wayward but the introduction of Matthew Waite and Ben Gibbon has stemmed the flow of runs

  9. Glamorgan 'happy to take their time'published at 12:25 British Summer Time 9 May

    Kent v Glamorgan 70-1

    Nick Webb
    BBC Radio Wales

Glamorgan held the upper hand for most of the early stages at Canterbury despite being put in to bat by Daniel Bell-Drummond.

Injury-hit Kent, who also had Zak Crawley withdrawn by England, gave a debut to teenage all-rounder Ekansh Singh among three changes while Glamorgan welcomed back experienced seamer James Harris after injury.

On a glorious morning Glamorgan started confidently enough but Zain ul-Hassan, after hitting a couple of sweet off-drives, edged to slip for 16 in Kashif Ali’s first over.

A generous helping of extras helped Glamorgan’s total from stalling, with the usually fast-scoring Asa Tribe happy to take his time as former Kent stalwart Sam Northeast played himself in.

  10. wicket

WICKETpublished at 12:24 British Summer Time 9 May

    Vasconcelos lbw b Phillip 9 (Northants 67-5 v Lancs)

We said Lancashire would be pleased - maybe upgrade that to 'delighted' as they've now got rid of Ricardo Vasconcelos!

Anderson Phillip brings one back to pin the left-hander on his back foot and Northants have now lost half of their wickets after winning the toss and deciding to bat.

Big problems for Darren Lehmann right now and they have two new batters at the crease.

  11. wicket

WICKETpublished at 12:23 British Summer Time 9 May

    Slater c Gubbins b Fuller 31 (Notts 62-1 v Hants)

Tempted into a drive outside the off stump, Ben Slater's luck finally runs out, driving high to Nick Gubbins at cover and Notts lose a first wicket.

That has been 80 odd minutes of slog for Hampshire's bowling unit and they finally have a reward for their efforts.

  12. wicket

WICKETpublished at 12:20 British Summer Time 9 May

    Keogh c Harris b Balderson 9 (Northants 65-4 v Lancs)

Lancashire will be very happy with their morning's work so far.

Rob Keogh is the latest Northants batter to depart, prodding George Balderson to third slip where Marcus Harris pouches his second catch of the game.

Saif Zaib comes out to join Ricardo Vasconcelos in the middle.

  13. dropped catch

Adam Lyth droppedpublished at 12:19 British Summer Time 9 May

    Essex v Yorks 68-0

Finally, a chance for Essex - and it's captain Tom Westley who allows it to go begging.

Adam Lyth gives Simon Harmer the charge again, doesn't quite catch it cleanly and Westley, at long off, dives for the catch but shells it as he hits the ground.

Yorkshire still have all their 10 wickets intact.

  14. wicket

WICKETpublished at 12:19 British Summer Time 9 May

    Davies b Lawrence 45 (Warks 70-1 v Surrey)

Alex Davies forgets we are playing red-ball cricket, tries to slog a full toss from Dan Lawrence, misses, and is bowled with a third 50 of the season there for the taking.

He won't want to see a video reply of that one.

Tom Latham comes out for his first Warwickshire innings.

  15. Postpublished at 12:18 British Summer Time 9 May

    Kent v Glamorgan 62-1

Kent are keeping it pretty tight at the Spitfire Ground.

The most recent boundary came a couple of overs ago when Asa Tribe punched the ball down into the pitch and it bounced over the outstretched hand of bowler Kashif Ali and away to the rope.

  16. Postpublished at 12:16 British Summer Time 9 May

    Northants 64-3 v Lancs

Despite losing three wickets this morning, Northamptonshire have scored at a decent rate.

Ricardo Vasconcelos has most of those runs - 36 so far - and, although he took a nasty blow on the arm from an Anderson Phillip ball that jagged back into him, the left-hander responded by swatting him through midwicket for four later in the over.

  17. Postpublished at 18 overs

    Warks 64-0 v Surrey

Tom Lawes sends down a leg-stump half-volley and Rob Yates clips it to the backward square leg boundary.

The next over ends with Alex Davies glancing Dan Lawrence fine for four and he is 42 not out.

  18. 50 runs

50 up for Nottspublished at 12:12 British Summer Time 9 May

    Notts 54-0 v Hants

Ben Slater is chopped in half by Brad Wheal, beaten all ends up, then rocks back and cuts through point for four to bring up the half century.

And there... in two balls, is the story of the morning.

Hants look unable to get a break and Notts are putting themselves into a decent position on a difficult pitch if not quite knowing how on earth they are still none down.

  19. 'Good start from the Bears'published at 12:09 British Summer Time 9 May

    Warks 53-0 v Surrey

    Richard Wilford
    BBC Radio WM commentator

It feels like a batting day today, it's been very quiet in Division One.

It's been a good start from the Bears - they're 53 without loss. Alex Davies has been busy, he's punished two short balls with sixes.

It's been steady progression for Rob Yates - he's just on 16.

  20. Postpublished at 12:06 British Summer Time 9 May

    Kent v Glamorgan 53-1

You can't bowl there to Sam Northeast.

Grant Stewart directs one towards the Glamorgan skipper's pads and is flicked unerringly to mid-wicket for four runs.

As an ex-Kent player, Northeast would love this innings to be a big one today.
